When he talks about addiction to love, that is something I can relate to deeply. Even as a little boy in the 1st and 2nd grade I would write love letters not ever knowing who actually taught me to do that. I would obsess over girls, one at a time, thinking that I was in love and this is as a young boy. It's really deeper but I won't really explain. I was born a lover boy, like I was always searching for something.
@@melanatedwanderlust4057 I don't know what triggers it. It's like as soon as I think I really like a girl/woman then comes an obsession to love and be a great guy for her. But to a degree, with wisdom, I've learned that this "love" is actually unhealthy. It can cloud my mind and judgment for long periods of time. I've realized that you have to learn to search within and go back "home" to the place where this love began. Find out what is missing and come to terms with it.
This comment out of all the rest stood out to me brother because I myself am 23 and have struggled with this my entire life since I started messing around with girls at like 11 or 12. I saw my mother go through the most essential years of my life, specifically when my father was out of the picture, and she took a back seat to parenting. Meanwhile, i was so interested in being every woman’s savior and laying the world (or what 13 year old me thought the world was) at their feet. It developed into me cheating constantly and even destroyed the relationship I had with my firstborn child’s mother. Come full circle I found myself engulfed in the idea of love again, even after I swore up and down I “learned learned learned” the hard way, and it’s taken me longer than a decade to come face to face with this. Thank you brother this has helped me on my journey, love.
Kudos for the breakfast club. They are really putting it down.👏🏾👏🏾envy have a special insight. All 3 of them are doing it and doing it well.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾👍🏾😍😍
This is my hearts’ desire is for everyone to heal, hopefully this will spread contagiously. I’ve already started with myself and then with my daughters. It’s hard tho when the father is not present in the lives of their children. Women stay strong in raising these children. They are our future. It would be dope to see my children and for all the generations to come healed and in healthy relationships with self first, then w/ everyone else.

@@TheHales Early 2000's had some good conscious albums. The Listening by Little Brother stays in rotation haha
Can't forget One Day It'll All Make Sense either!
throw a beat on behind him talking, boom a common song.. 😂
🤣
Specifically a J Dilla beat
50Plus Smov 😂😂😂😂😂
This killed me, lmao
50Plus Smov it works for him. His voice is calming af. He sounds so poetic and lovely😊
Common is so well verse! This whole interview was GREAT! Thanks for representing Chicago well!
#verseD
So many of our heterosexual young men been misunderstood. Common is going to help a lot of men. Loving him so much.
Common is such an Inspiration to Everyone. More power to him ❣️. My new signature henceforth #LetLoveHaveTheLastWord.
Can't wait to read his book 🇰🇪.
R. Will wow, i can definitely relate to what you are saying. I think I’m struggling with this now
@@melanatedwanderlust4057
I don't know what triggers it.
Yes, I’m definitely trying to find the root. I’m think it has something to do with my parents. I don’t know.
@@melanatedwanderlust4057
It does. A parent that didn't know how to love couldn't give it to you or teach you how to.
All 3 of them are doing it and doing it well.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾👍🏾😍😍
Yes!! More interviews like this!
I love conversations that he had with his daughter!!
Thank you for making sure those dolls were decent 🥴
Magnificent Black Man
He is not sloppy in any way.
He a brave young man young people's can look up to him Kudos to him lol love it.
I love Common and his philosophy! Such a deep brotha! Sending peace and love to anyone who reads this! ❤️❤️❤️
💛💚💛

@stryfetc1 too funny
This real life conversation is a blessing. Our men need the space and freedom to discuss their past abuse.
Common should come back with an interactive music video like MC SMOOK - MY NAME IS
Ice cube ended his career
how?
Somebody appreciates him! He has an Emmy, a Grammy AND an Oscar! His music may not be played all over the radio all day, but he's bigger than that.
Nah he gets the proper respect as a lyricist in the culture... everybody respects him on that level.
Naw ..(AZ, King Crooked, Pharaoh Monch, Black Thought, etc. ) but he is very unappreciated though.......And I know it's your opinion.
Common has been this kind, gentle, loving, unique, wise soul for a very long time....honored to have crossed his path growing up on the south side of Chicago many moons ago. Continued blessings to you Common! Love.....
Really great interview always enjoy his interviews.
Great interview! Common is a man of the people for the people! I have alot of respect for him. LOVE is the answer!
Let us start the day forgiving ourselves and forgiving others . To all my sisters and brothers , rise above the burdens of hatred and actions which leads to self destruction. Please have a blessed 🙏 day and week.

Common is a good dude. He's always pushing the culture forward. #weluvtrap
I live in Chicago. I am also a Chicago Public School Teacher. This is my first year teaching and it has been the most difficult job ever, but those kids... my kids are so worth it. Great Interview!
Hope everyone has a great and Blessed days
Been bangin with homey since Can I Borrow a Dollar and Resurrection. Official brutha right here 💯
Love really combats everything ❤️ Love is the only way forward in this world. Without love, there are detrimental effects on all of us. I learned this, loving myself despite being hated for my skin tone, disrespected by black men along with the rest of the world hating my existence.
I met Brother Common in 2016 as he arrived at Washington-Dulles Airport, where I worked at the time. As a huge fan of his work/music/art I had to meet the man. Comm was very approachable, humble and kind. Took a picture with me too. Dude is super cool and what you see is genuinely what you get. Just like Presidnet Obama and Michelle. Looking forward to his memoir 💪😎💯💯💯
Salute to this icon for his spirit and guidance. He kept it all the way honest and I’ll always respect him for it. Love 💯
Common has always been one of my favorite artist, but more importantly, when he speak, I listen.you cant pay for wisdom like this cause its priceless..much love and respect for Common.
