I've had glasses my entire life and I've always felt unable to wear makeup because it's so difficult to put on!! I can hardly see without my glasses and it's so hard to get around them! I finally decided that I want to try and get better at makeup and this video has really encouraged me, so thank you!
I have been looking for a video like this. I wear glasses everyday and this video is very detailed and helpful. Finally a makeup video for those of us who need to wear our glasses to do makeup 😊
You have such a pleasant and calming voice. Love your videos! Thank you for making them for us. : )
Thank you for all your kind comments :)
Im not old but im very blind without my glasses. I struggle with make up because whenever i take my glasses off its allcabout feeling what im doing instead of seeing. but this helped!!
Edit: also this is really similar to what i already do (especially reaching into the glasses) but this is giving me confidence on the feel and check way of eyeshadow
I just started wearing "bi-focal" contact lenses! I love them! I still need readers for applying fake lashes, and very close up work, but generally I really like them. Still wear my glasses about 50 percent of the time though.
Thank you for replying. I cant wear lenses, due to medical reasons. My girlfriend can and it makes me jealous, considering she mostly wears just for make up >_
I have horrible eyesight. My glasses make my eyes very dark and beady. When I try to use eyeshadow and mascara I end up looking like I have 2 black eyes. Its very frustrating and I dont wear makeup anymore because I get very depressed, it just doesn't look good, no matter what colors I choose. I am going to a Comic Con event next month where I will be meeting a man who played a character who changed my life. I aint pretty by any standard, but I desperately want to try to look pretty when I get my picture taken with him. Your video makes me want to try makeup again.
I've been watching videos about makeup for glasses wearers that were probably not done by someone with poor vision because they don't address the problem of how to apply it when you can't see! THANK YOU for this! My frames are kind of small and sit close to my eyes, so if I stick a brush under the lens as you do in the video, it'll get the lens dirty. Do you recommend getting a cheap pair of extra large glasses like you have to wear purely when applying makeup?
Thanks for watching! That's a good idea if your frames are small;-) Also my husband just bought a wall mounted super-magnifying, lit, mirror for the bathroom! It really helps, it's a little scary to look at though, my skin looks like the surface of the moon!
Pregolegs, ¡what a great idea!, the frames of my lenses are small too and it's difficult for me to make up my eyelids too. Thank you😊
@@kerrylou3 ooo the mirror sounds great. Where did you get it please?
Thank you so much for this. I must've watched a hundred videos from people who don't have bad eyesight so can't possibly understand how difficult it is to apply makeup when you can't see 2 inches in front of your face! I feel like my eyes shrink away behind my glasses so the eyeliner part was so helpful.
I am from Moscow . You're one of the best makeup artists. Moreover, we are on the same type. We wear our glasses and gray hair. Thank you for the lesson.
I'm so glad to find this video! A couple years ago, my eyesight got bad enough that I can't wear contacts anymore. (I'm farsighted AND have bifocals) I haven't worn makeup since then and I miss it.
I Would love you to do " makeup colours for grey hair " :)
What a great idea! We'll add that to the list ;)
I just can't do eyeliner neatly without my glasses on! It's always so messy, I have to keep my glasses on to see what I'm doing wrong.
Try using a soft color like a grey or brown instead of black, that way any mistakes will not notice as much! Also, have some Q-tips on hand for corrections. Bobbi Brown and MAC have excellent gel liners which are not so messy as a liquid liner. If you use an eyeliner brush with a long handle, you should be able to reach under your glasses and apply the liner. Use your lashes as a guide, rest your brush on them, use the side of the brush, not the point. Hope this helps! Good luck:-)
I'm a new subscriber. I love your haircut😍😍😍 and great vids 😘
"Less is more" (I've been saying this for YEARS) 👍, ("nice and subtle") and Q-TIPS! You're a woman after my own heart. I truly like your phylosophy, here. Kerry Lou, I really hope you'll do more videos.
just what I needed 58 blind without my glasses thank you !!
Glad you liked it:-)
Your hair is awesome!
I have been looking for a glasses tutorial that acknowledges poor sight for SO long and this was JUST what I needed!!! Super pleased with your advice and experience!!! :)
Really enjoyed watching this video!
I haven't worn any make make up for a very long time, but I am going to give it a go. I wear glasses so your tips were very helpful 👏👏👏👏
Thank you for this video. It's such a struggle for me...especially the eyebrows! Just subbed. Btw...love your hair and glasses.
LifeIsGood, have you seen the eyebrow stencils?, maybe they can help you to makeup your brows🙂
Thanks so much for these great videos for older women!
Glad you like them!
👓. Kerry, I'm laughing, at myself ; assumed I was just in need of " a new prescription for eyeglasses ". So enjoy your channel and appreciate
you❗🔍🔎 👍👍
I will definitely try the Smashbox lid primer, I have been looking for a recomendation,
I LOVE YOUR HAIR!
JUST what I needed (the info you you have given us) it was really helpful, thank you so much ....I love Laura Mercier's products , the suit my dry skin really well.
The finished result is lovely, simple & fresh.....Wish I had the your even skin tone = Life would be easier !!
I love your classes. Where did you get them? I’m Canadian
Thanks for the tips
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe they are Fysh or is it Fysk brand?
hi Kerry-Lou I know this video is almost a year old and you might not see this, but I'm hoping you do (you've really inspired me to keep wearing my glasses now that I can't wear contacts and I miss wearing makeup but I've been so frustrated trying to apply it without my contacts).
what is your prescription? the reason I ask is I tried to emulate your video but still found it challenging because I wanted to be able to blend perfectly around the eyes which was impossible until I took off my glasses and got so close to my mirror that the air from my nostrils was fogging it up
My prescriptions says +250 -50 140 !! I don't even know what that means lol! They are progressive lenses. I find that I can do some stages without looking, just by feeling the brush on my eyelid, especially if you use earthy tones. some glasses have such nice frames that you don't need to do a lot on the eyes. Occasionally I do a look that concentrates on foundation, brows, bright lips, and mascara and it looks pretty good!
However I can't keep one eye open and shut the other. 😤
you look fab but one problem i can't see within out my glasses to put on eyeliner and my hands wobble/ shake. 😂 thankyou for sharing
vicky clyne, do you use mascara?, because mascara can replace eyeliner, it draws the outside of your eye🙂
Do you have a video about your hair?
Thank you for sharing, this is what I was waiting for:-)
One of the very few times I'm thankful for my myopia! As usual, such a good video. Your nails look lovely, great shape.
please list the make up products you used.
YEY I FOUND THE answer !
Thanks Kerry-Lou I'll give it a try.
I use a magnifying mirror
Luka Larrs me too
Hi kerry thank you so much for yr tutorial...lm really having a hard time applying my eyeliners sonce wearing glasses...lm going to try your method...
I am thrilled to have someone doing videos for women with gray or graying hair - to silver. My hair is in the process of graying and I love the streaks as they seem to look like highlights. But, I don't know what to kind of make up or colors to wear. I can afford a couple of high end products but not so many and it sounds like it takes so much to look better. All those brushes etc. I appreciate your video and have just subscribed. Very excited.
H Lacy, thanks for the feed-back. I will make a video using less expensive products soon! Stay tuned:-) Glad you're loving your natural hair!
I can't see without my eyeglasses. Thank you for showing us how to put makeup on with our eyeglasses!! I appreciate it!! ❤
Thank you so very much ... I have pretty much been doing it like you do but you gave me more tips for the eyes TY TY TY :)
You're welcome!
I love your glasses
love your hair style... how to get it done and maintain it like that on a daily basis?
Thank you! A good hair cut is important, then you don't have to spend too much time doing it everyday. A good haircutter will not fight your hair too much, but style it in the way it naturally grows. I will do a video on how I style mine. I go to Bumble and Bumble NYC for my haircut.
me gusto mucho,quedo muy linda
Thank you so much, I'm a young adult now and I've been interested in make up and I can't see very well so this is super helpful!
Thank you for sharing. Very helpful video. Im a new subscriber.
thank you so much, this video make me so happy and now I really believe I can do makeup
Please help me. My hair is a gray but not a light gray it's a salt and pepper and it's shiny and it's gorgeous and thick and curly and I love it and I get compliments all the time.
My question is what eyebrow pencil color do I use to suit my hair........ my eyes are a sky blue. Do I go black? What do I do?
Thanks so much for this video I'm just starting to go through this stage of trying to figure out how to perfect my makeup while wearing glasses I did at least figure out I could do my brows by pushing the glasses down it's interesting you just wake up one day at 54 and you need on your glasses to apply your makeup something that you've been doing your entire life. Thanks again
Thank you so much for this!
Are your brows naturally beautiful? I’m losing hair there and recently hairs have gone wild growing in all directions.
Hello Kerry please suggest a couple of good lipsticks for senior Asian women fair a d dusky complexions
As a shortsighted gal, I have to take off glasses and stand practically with my eye to the mirror - it steams up and I have to be careful that the ends of brushes and mascara don’t touch the mirror and therefore bounce back and prod me in the eye :(
Your absolutely stunning and thank you for this tutorial. I've loved using make up right through from the 70's 80's 90's and so on and dont want to hang my makeup brushes up yet. I'm 65 years old and blessed with young looking skin. I want to look fresh and bright and dont want to spend to long applying my make up, so thank you for helping me see though or under my glasses to apply my makeup 🥰
Thanks so much for your nice comment Janette! I'm glad you liked this one ;-D
omg
me: how do i put makeup on when i need glasses to see
youtube: just lift them up 4head
Can you share the name or number of your glasses? Your glasses are cute.
Thank you! They are by a company called Theo www.theo.be I don't know where they are made, I purchased these from a store in NJ USA a couple of years ago.
thank you so much!!! thx for tutorial makeup with glasses.
Kerry Lou, thank you so much for this tutorial. I do have a wall-mounted magnifying mirror upstairs in my bathroom. However, after foot surgery I am not able to go upstairs for a while. So this video is very helpful to see how to apply my make-up with my glasses on.
Get well soon!
What about false lashes? Very hard to apply when you don’t see without glasses on. Can you help?
10x mirror. I have one for home, one in my travel bag
I have such short lashes the curling gadget doesn’t seem to work to good. Is there a curling gadget that works for my eyes? Thanks a lot
Boy, I got alot of practice to go. YOU are beautiful!
I recently let my gray/silver hair grow out and I wear it very short. I LOVE the videos you make showing colors to wear - thank you for doing this.
What color is the lipgloss? It looks beautiful!!!
You're welcome, thank you! I forget the lip gloss color, but my staple for this kind of look is Bobbi Brown "Petal". Bobbi Brown has some lovely soft lip gloss shades, and they make your lips feel really good, even in winter.
I LOVE your glasses. Could u please tell me what Brand they are?
Would have been helpful for you to include what products you used.
This tutorial is everything because all the other ones simply take off their glasses for the whole thing or say nerd make up tutorial
I love this so much because I never seen something like this so it makes me happy that you did it while wearing glasses because I can’t see without them so I never can do the eye makeup that I want to wear!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
She takes her glasses off???
Finally someone who addresses us who can't see. I've had glasses since I was in primary school and have always struggled, either it's too little or too much or base lines. It's not like I look awful but sometimes when you look so closlely in the mirror to see yourself it doesn't end up how it should if you looked at it like from how other people makeup.
Very glad you liked this Minette! All the best to you in 2020!
Thank you. Do you have a video for morning cleanse ?
I have worn glasses since the age of 3 …57 years and if I wear mascara my eyelashes stick to my lenses
Best gray hair make up tutorial I've seen so far.
Thank you, I am so glad you liked it!
THANK YOU so much!
Subtlety is what I want, but I got discouraged because I couldn't see what I was doing
Oh, sorry about that. Since I made this video, they have made glasses that you can raise one lense at a time, so you can see what you're doing easier - I will look into them and find out more!
Thank you, i too wear glasses and hate these days doing make-up. Your makeup looks great love the colouring.
Thanks Polly!
UA-cam recommend did good digging this up for me, thank you for making this video!!
You're welcome, thank you for watching!
Why not just remove glasses to put on makeup? That's how I do it ...
Some clever people like you can do makeup by braille!
What brand is your glasses? I would like to buy one
Thank you for the lovely tutorial on applying makeup. It’s just what I need, a role model for older women to remind us we can still be beautiful.
Thank you so much for watching the video, and for the encouragement. I'll keep them coming :-D
I use a magnifying mirror. That works much better and I don't have to put on my glasses. Feeling around my eyes is not my cup of tea in applying makeup. It will take too long and i don't have that kind of time in the morning.
Lovely outcome ! Thank you for sharing .. 🎄Merry Christmas 🎄
Thank you, thank you! I’m an older woman I seen you actually and I’ve been using one of those magnifying theirs and I can’t get the proper magnification and end up with a mess. Like you I have my trusty Q-tips handy all the time. I’ve been using liquid eyeliner because that’s what I always used to be you have to adapt and I’m going to try that gel liner. Awesome stuff I’ve subbed
You know I found one sides glasses that can switch to either eye! But I’m not sure how well it works for everybody…I haven’t tried them I have stigmatism…
Thank you, I have seen them advertised. They didn't make them when I made this video, maybe it's time for a re-make!
Wow! What is your secret? I'm 48 but the your jowls and overall face is fabulous ,way better than mine a lot betten😆 my jowls are horrible.
I taught my clients in my salon to wear glasses upside down on nose. You'd be surprised how easy it is. Your adorable
How interesting, I will definitely try this, thank you!
Hi Kerry-Lou, just found your video today and so glad that I did. I am wearing my glasses more rather than contacts lenses and am really struggling with my eye makeup. Great tips and love your natural look. You are gorgeous! New subscriber!
Would be nice if you could do an updated video with doing your eyebrows while wearing your glasses. I appreciate this video as it's the only one with the nformation I needed. Well the only one popping up on my feed. So thanks alot.
Hi Kerry-Lou, what a great tutorial for girls with glasses like me all kind of tips and tricks. Thank you very much, it've helped a lot to me, you're so kind and generous. Loves😘
THIS video is so helpful.
You have lovely lashes. Mine have become very skimpy. Can you recommend a lash serum or lash treatment to help? Many thanks.
Hi Britta, it's on my list of things to test. If you try one before I do - let me know what you use and how it works! x
Are you using a magnified mirror too? X
I am super happy for this video. I am a glasses wearer and I am happy to see the whole eye makeup thing addressed. I've never considered leaving them on my face while doing my makeup. I have one pair that actually have super narrow lenses. I could totally wear that pair during makeup application. Thank you for this video!
You are very welcome Dawn. Thank you for the feedback :)
I have a swinging magnifying mirror hanging on my wall in my BR and would use that if I need. But yeah, sometimes it’s more convenient to be able to leave the glasses on. Thanks!
Darling thank u soo much for this video
Becoz I m unable to use eyeliner without my glasses but now I m happy & again thnkooooooooo😚👍
omg thank you m y mom needs to see this because im how she applies her make up
Thanks Roxxane!
Oh wow thankq for the tutorial I will try this you are very funky like myself so I'm going to try your way x
Please what product did you use on your lips! It has a very nice shade.
I am pretty sure it was Bobbi Brown Uber Pink, a long time favorite of mine!
"Beautiful"! 😃
I am defo going to try this ,every time I take my glasses off I'm basically blind and can see two of everything since I have a turn in my left eye
Very natural!
Kerry Lou you're gorgeous. Love all your videos. Do you use any treatment to get your natural lashes to look so full. Along with many others things, at 63 my lashes have also gone south. I'm using a drug store treatment but it hasn't helped at all. I've also tried a homemade treatment I found online ( coconut oil etc). It's been months and just isn't working. Thank you so much for your posts. I've been a fan for over a year now. God Bless you for your help. Ro. 💕🌹💕
Hi Ro, thanks for your lovely compliments! Regarding lashes, sometimes I give mascara a miss when I can, I think if you wear it everyday, it can dry out your lashes. I think you should continue with some of the moisturizing methods you are using, but I am a strong believer in nutrition for beauty. Exercise, Vitamins and a good diet are a must for good skin, nails and hair. xxx
*Kerry-Lou, I had to stop this at 1:19 in to tell you I know this will be just brilliant! I haven't seen another video out there about this subject and it is so relevant for a lot of us maturing ladies. Also, I LOVE your purple glasses and I wear purple glasses as well. I'm getting some silver on the sides and temples of my hair but still see mostly medium auburn to brown or visa versa hair color. I turned 61 yesterday. Since you also do hair, what do you think about me putting a Henna treatment on my hair, just to spiff it up a little? I don't want anything permanent or all the chemicals. Thanks for your input!
I really appreciate your tutorials, and I'd really love some advice for all us Silver Foxes with yellowing teeth about lip colouring, ..my teeth are aging too and despite frequent trips to the dentist, the colour changes....
A tutorial maybe ?? Thanks so much
Thanks, Kerry-Lou. Great video by the way!
You told us the name of the colour you put on the eye, but it would be helpful to see the colour in the palette.
Thank you for this video. Am blind as a bat at only 36 and always struggle with make up. It's nice to see a mature applying make up.
Glad it was helpful!
Love your videos! I have horrible vertical lines on my upper lip - I find them really upsetting. Any suggestions for making them less noticeable?
Glad that you like the videos Carol. It's important to have a good skin care regimen to moisturize and help combat lines. When you use a makeup brush to apply foundation, (don't use a thick foundation, it will make the lines look worse) go i the direction of the lines, use a small amount of a translucent powder, such as MAC Prep + Prime Tranparent finshing powder, or Makeup Forever HD powder. The reason you should use the powder is to stop the foundation from moving into the lines. Dark lipsticks can travel into the lines making them look worse, so use a lip liner first, (Makeup Forever aqua lip will not feather) stick to a light to medium shade lipstick and blot well. Also don't forget to play up your best features! I will do a video on this:-)
I like your purple glasses. I have a darker purple frames that have a lot of sparkle in them. Think I’ll check out something a little lighter. The dark frames may be a little harsh with my gray hair. Love your makeup!
Thank you so much!
Grazie, your videos are helpful and informative.
