Zack is still alive and Aerith too, but just in a different timeline. There would be no point to have the whispers, both characters alive and Sephiroth wanting to merge the worlds if no one survive. But we'll figure it out with part 3! (Final Fantasy VII Reunite ?) 😄
@@N..O I've never really understood how they're a sequel unless you're referring to Sephiroth and Aerith having knowledge beyond knowledge. Which, in that case, call it whatever you want. Gene Roddenberry once said that he hoped that someone new would come along and retell the story of Kirk and Spock in a new way. If the story tellers of FF7 Remake want to follow certain story elements, fine. However, they have the opportunity to tell a story different and, at the same time, familiar to the original story and give the fans something to get excited about.

(this was confirmed in the FF7R issue of ultimania) there’s now multiple timelines because we changed fate, including one where zack is alive. And finally have you ignored every single sign that the story has been changed? Yes the games are following along the events of the OG game, but very loosely and sometimes even completely changes what happened.

I'm fine with it IF they are gonna use it for a big moment in part 3. it'll be even more hype, plus the music they used instead is still pretty fire Imo, they've honored the music very well so far so I don't think it's fair to be mad about one song they left out since I have no doubt they know the fans want it, so they'll probably do it in the next game.
