I remember them doing an interview on MTV, dressed as yo usee in this video, complete with teh crash helmets concealing their faces. I remember they talked of how they came to Earth to save humanity with their music or some such.
This song always intrigued me.....quite 'reggae' in its composition and message. Heard it played full volume in the 80's at a Jamaican street dance from a mountain of speakers. The baseline reverberated the very soul in my body while blurring my vision. Something to experience and definitely unforgettable.
One of the greatest afro-cosmic tracks of the eighties and finally after 30 years I get to see the video... and it was worth the wait - love the dystopian Metropolis meets Mad Max vibe - the Hear On Earth album still sounds incredible and love the new Earons tracks on their Bandcamp page which are available to download. Go Jump Man, I dunno. My memory of this is so threadbare, I can only remember the white outfits of the band and the somewhat catchy song. I was living in Nashville TN at the time I watched it (Mid 80's of course), so it would have had to have been on a network channel (no cable) at the time. I wasn't cool enough to get MTV, so it was just Friday night videos and some off kilter shows that were around, but I only remember that there was maybe one other videos program like that on the networks. Would love to dig up an old TV guide for my area to get an idea, but I'm happy to just have found the video!
I didn't have MTV either, grew up poor. U68 was the free alternative for the NYC/NJ metro area, by turning the channel to 12:00 on the dial where the 'U' was. It's great that you found this song after searching for so long! :-)
UHF channels, that you had to tune like a radio (the channels often did not "click in" on the knob!) First you clicked the top knob past 13 to "U" and then on the bottom knob you could select channels PAST 13: 14-83.

I have this on Vinyl from way back when. WAY ahead of their time. I will never sell it because this has so much meaning beyond awesome music. These guys were SO far ahead of their time.

People saying Daft Punk may have got their image from the Earons should really go back a bit further to 1977 and look at 'Magic Fly' by the French disco band Space. It was a wonderful number 2 huge hit in the UK.

80s alternative music is great!
