Couple things I should mention after using the Artist24 a bit more. The Driver: If you have a dual-monitor set-up where the desktop's extended and use the tablet's screen as your primary monitor (with the taskbar etc.) like I do sometimes, you'll find that the driver defaults to the 2nd monitor being what the tablet controls (so moving the pen around makes the mouse jump to the other monitor). Switching the monitor control to the tablet's display with each start-up isn't the end of the world. Also, regardless of what monitor you have set in the driver, the calibration screen will always show up on monitor 2, so you have to set the dual-monitor set-up to be duplicate for just the calibration and then back to extended-desktop if you want the Artist24 to be your primary monitor. USB-C: This isn't specifically an XP-PEN problem, more just a gripe with USB-C and other miniaturised plugs . It's not nearly as strong as USB-A and HDMI. If you have a set-up that's likely to pull on your leads, you can risk bending the USB-C plug. I feel for a large tablet such as the Artist24, a regular USB and HDMI set-up could've sufficed since, while the combination of display-input and data-output is handy, USB-C would make more sense used with a portable smaller tablet that could also use USB-C's power capabilities too. Still, no real harm done, just treat your leads with care like you always should! (If I had my way, everything would be XLRs, BNCs and SATAs)
Missed your videos! This is so refreshing to see because most other reviews feel the same, but you’ve definitely made this your style of presenting things and I’ve always admired that! ✨
i cannot express how much QUALITY there is to this product review, its aesthetic and covers everything! you should honestly do more of these xp pen display tablet reviews and its so much better because you’re actually someone who puts so much thought into it in a perspective of an animator as well!
Finally a tablet review that actually talks about the tilt function of the pen. Most of the popular reviews I see only talking about the pen pressure if they talk about the pen at all other than “uhhh yeah it feels nice I guess”
Thanks for the review. Amazon had this model 35% off for prime day so I got it at $315 off instead of $900. So if anyone is looking at getting one, GET IT NOW. I am a professional artist (I specialize in illustration) and buying as a business investment so it was nice to see another pro artist doing an in depth video review before I placed my purchase. Even at a huge discount it is still not cheap and it was a rare opportunity to afford such a large, high quality digital drawing pad at this price so I snagged it. I had been using a Wacom Bamboo (until I killed it drawing so much) and more recently a Wacom Intuos so this will be my first graphics tablet with a digital display. I am really looking forward to more detailed drawings and having the sensation of working directly on a surface instead of using my laptop monitor. I can't wait to draw for endless hours on it!
I actually found your Artist 16 review to be so entertaining that I watched it maybe three or four times just from all the little animations, music, and how the video was all over put together. I still enjoyed this video, although I did notice how much shorter it was in contrast to the 16. I hope this tablet serves you well, but I probably won't be in the market for something as large and expensive as this for quite some time, and I'll continue watching to see how Huion and XP-Pen upgrade and improve their display tablets further. I'd really love to see 1440p make it onto a 19.5" display tablet, possibly even with quantum dot enhancement like the Huion Kamvas 22 Plus has. In any case, I eagerly await your next tablet review video if you are given the opportunity to review something new and improved down the line.
Thank you! XP-PEN's done very well improving their tech, although I should probs give another manufacturer a look at for the next tablet review. I'm going to be taking a break from reviews for some time, while I try and get started on another cartoon.
Helvetica Flair, although it's yet to have been officially digitised, but recently some good images of all the letters have popped up. I had to work out my digitisation from some warped photos. The "&" on the Express Key title card is from Baskerville Italic (bold'd to fit with the rest).
I have a question. Would a Wacom tablet without a screen not work as well as a tablet with a screen like this? I’m asking because I have a Wacom tablet and looking at a computer screen is a little awkward than drawing on a screen directly.
That was a great review, you didn't waste time with unboxing and being cute, however I'm distracted by your fantastic art style and doodly brushwork, you seem to do the type of animation I like the most, I will have to check your other videos.
Hey. I am planning on buying the Artist 24Pro. I wanted to know if the tablet can also charge an M1 Macbook air while connected it it via Type C cable. As the Tablet is already drawing power from the wall.
May I ask you which pencil brush you use? I have the same tablet and clipstudio but my tilt doesn’t seem to work... my version of clipstudio is the latest one
I’m looking to get this for my girlfriend’s birthday who’s Wacom broke recently. She doesn’t have much desk space. Do you have any recommendations for arm mounts? Something like the ergo arms I’ve seen for Wacom tablets
Cintiq 22 hd for over 1 thousand dollars, this is such a great price for what they are giving. It’s about 600 dollars on amazon which is still expensive but for the amazing stuff your getting is just great for the price. Beats wacoms prices easily.
If you're a full time artist this isn't expensive. It's more a matter of which tablet not so much if you can get a tablet. If you don't make money off your art then its a hobby and you should get what you can afford. But if you make your income off your art then it's not a big deal.
Hey Harvey! I know it's been awhile since you removed your masterpiece called Derpstep, and this video isn't the best to ask this, but can you *PLEASE* reupload it?
That's an old one! Is it this you're referring to 'cause even my memory's hazy? drive.google.com/file/d/1J-WnfQFIhE8wEzfE09R12Vu-NGNkSOqf/view?usp=sharing
@@RothmanHarv yeah that's it, thank for reply! The only request I had is to make it longer, perhaps with new level of depth. Please never remove your old works!

As if I'm watching a tablet review in the 80s (wasn't born then to know for sure, but i love the flare of your reviews!)
Haha I was born in the 80s and didn't even notice that until I read your comment.

Golden review that i wished had more reviews! Love it!
Just ordered it, so will watch it with big hopes towards it
Do you like the tablet?
@@lenengquist592 adore it
@Iroh ye it is, still loving it
Thanks for the review. I was tempted to get the XP Pen 24 though. The tilt function works pretty well.
may i ask what font you used for the express key and driver title cards?
Helvetica Flair, although it's yet to have been officially digitised, but recently some good images of all the letters have popped up. I had to work out my digitisation from some warped photos. The "&" on the Express Key title card is from Baskerville Italic (bold'd to fit with the rest).
@@RothmanHarv thank you!
Hi, do you shoot film from the monitor? I have scratches on the XP-PEN 22E Pro (monitor without film) in the timeline area in the toon boom program.
I love your reviews I watched the Xp-pen Artist 22e pro like 6 times 😀

Hi, I have a question! Which key did you use for the dials to scrub through animations?
In Flash, the default is "," and "." but you can set them to whatever depending on what program is open in the tablet's settings.
@@RothmanHarv Oh thank you so much! And great video! Loved it!
Can i draw or making animation on this tablet without computer ?
Hey, Great Review. I Was Wondering: Do You Sell Your Digital Brushes? I Think They Are Amazing.
If I figure out a way to, perhaps! Although I still tweak them a lot, so they're not ready to sell just yet.
This is a great review! I just now found your profile and love your style! Just subscribed! (and bought the tablet...)
for a 2k displaly like these a GTX 760 Gpu does work?
May I ask you which pencil brush you use? I have the same tablet and clipstudio but my tilt doesn’t seem to work... my version of clipstudio is the latest one
Oh it's one of my own. I don't think CSP includes any tilty brushes, but it's easy enough to assign tilt axis to one of the variables.
@@RothmanHarv the new update have renewed the brushes with tilt. And it works to a degree but not naturally. I was able to fix it though

I need to connect to hdmi to hdmi for 2k ? on graphic card ?

will there be a Christmas animation this year Harvey Rothman?
Maybe not Christmas themed, but hope to get a little sketch out this year.
Thank you so much for this video!Just bought mine.
