    This is a really great tablet providing that you affix the USB-C cable in a sturdy position that will not get jarred, tugged, or moved in any way. The USB-C port on the device (which is essential for tablet functionality) is EXTREMELY fragile. USB type-C ports are janky to start with for all products, but the port on this particular device is not very strong at all.
    Outside of that, in my opinion this is the best graphics tablet for the best value. Sure, 4k would be nice, but at this screen size it's not really necessary. There is a little bit of parallax, but it never really affects what you are doing. The two dials on the sides are just a brilliant addition. I configure my left dial for brush tip size, and the right dial for screen rotation. Speeds up my workflow SO much more.
    If I can find a way to manually repair this USB-C port on the device (because even my extended warranty has expired a LONG time ago,) I don't see the need in getting another tablet as long as it works. Like ever.

    I've been using the 16inch for about 8 months and I bought a pen with a larger nib and made sure to dry wipe the screen with pressure every few hours of drawing. I did this to prevent scratches and I'm not positive that this is the reason but mine does not have scratches after 8 months. I have a knick on the screen protector from my dog putting his paw on it that I can't get out. I can't really see it when the monitor is on. On a cheap replaceable tablet I don't mind the screen protector but on a more expensive one the idea bothers me. I'd rather pay an extra $100-$200 to get a glass screen. It's the screen protector that's preventing me from getting it because I feel like a 24inch one will be really hard to replace without bubbles.

    Hey man, nice vid.
    Just to point out one thing, I also have this tablet, and I noticed you talked about scratches on the screen, because you peeled off what you think was the screen protector. However, I'd say what you scratched is the actual screen protector, which is still on. If you take that of, you have a totally reflective smooth surface, which I don't think you can scratch with the pen's plastic nib (I may be wrong, but if the surface on your tablet kind of textured like paper, then the screen protector's on).
    Cheers.

    • @cardytoonsstudio
      @cardytoonsstudio  4 роки тому

      Thanks mate, I only peeled the first protector off - I did notice someone else who had left that first one on and was drawing on it in a review...I did wonder. It would take a bit to get the actual 2nd laminate off I reckon - I won't go there, but these stratches are small and maybe I just draw too hard :)

    • @mauricesanchez6804
      @mauricesanchez6804 4 роки тому +1

      Yes, the first one peeled off is a protector plastic for the matte anti glare screen protector that is set on top of the drawing screen. Some people have mentioned peeling off two screen films, the first one which protects the matte anti glare protector, and the actual matte anti glare protector.

    • @woozleboy
      @woozleboy 2 роки тому

      There is the shipping screen protector that you remove when setting it up. The matte finish protector under that is your drawing surface. Do not remove or peel this off. If you do, then you are on the unprotected glass surface and will risk damage.

      Hi Tom, How is the "feel and accuracy" for the XP-Pen vs Wacom pro? How has it stood up to the test of time and use? I'm a professional illustrator and use my old Cintiq 21ux everyday. I'd like to upgrade to a Cintiq pro 24 or 32, but after reading scary bad reviews, it's making me wonder should I just get the XP pen? other professionals experienced heat issues and dead pixels and even patches of dead pixels and dying after a few months to a year. Totally unexpectable for something that costs $3300+ a $500 stand?!

      @@altonszeto50 hi, I had a 21 wacom as you, one of the better tablet display since all are became full hd. I’m working as pro art director in a animation company in Italy where we use wacom display. I had a 24 full hd and now a 24 4k. The problem with wacom is if you use windows sw. there’s a lot of issues. I’m use a mac and I haven’t any issues. At least with the 24 hd. Really the best. Now out of production. The 24 4k needs a really strong computer with ram and gpu. If you think to buy something wacom take an old 24 hd. If you work in 4k no. I think you can find for 1200€/$.
      The 4 k isn’t good because is expensive and not ergonomic, needs a support stand. All of our artists have a shoulder pain.
      The xp artist 24 qhd is a fine tablet display. I bought for the resolution. Qhd. Really good no needs a lot of ram cpu gpu etc. I can work fine and fast with a retina MacBook pro 2013. The issues are the sw that not really actual and not performing as well as needs for a pro product. The point nib is so poor compared with cintiq. These are the only 2 issues I have noted. The good is the price. You not find nothing similar with this price. 1000 €.
      My question is: do you want invest in a tablet display for pro life? How many hour you work daily? We change the wacom cintiq after 2 years of work 40 h/week.
      All of them accused many issues. I think a xp doesn’t work more. But if you change you must spend less money to change. I think a 32 is too big. I don’t like the newest model. The old one was bigger and ergonomic. Large with the control on the side. The remote control is a problem. Sometimes the Bluetooth work bad and receive interferes with others. Check what really you need for work. Every 2 years something spring out in the market. The wacom monopoly is out. Really was the best. I think Japan products as xp and wacom are still better then chinos. Though are also built in china. Ugee is xp pen less expensive but not fine as xp.
      I hope I answer your question. Bye

      @@Akiraruben Thank you so much for your response Tom! Really appreciate it! I work 40+hrs a week on my cintiq 21ux with old 2007 macpro. These 2 units have been an incredible duo workhorse that hasn't let me down! I'm looking to upgrade as the macpro is quite slow these days. I'm lucky because I'm a 2d illustrator so it's not taxing on the macpro. I also have a PC Alienware R6 i7 3.6ghz, 16g ram, nvidia GTX 1070 and sata hd. I would like to connect this with a next gen tablet. I was very disappointed to read amazon reviews about the cintiq pro 32 and 24 having dead pixel patches over time. some 4 months to 1 year. It's also very disappointing that Wacom decided to put "new" tech like touch and 4k, when honestly neither I or my pro friends use this. touch is a waste (many claim it doesn't work well), and with 4k you can't see your menus. Also while I wouldn't mind drawing on a 32" many pros want a 27" pro cintiq to come out without touch, they believe this is the best working size. It's such a tough decision to make as a freelancer. I don't mind at all to pay top dollar for best tech, but when it fails like a wacom pro only after a year... who would want to buy that? But feel and accuracy are so important for me working on it for long hours... perhaps get a Wacom pro 24" until new tech comes out? or a XP pen pro 24? but as you mentioned it's point nib is poor. How does XP pen pro 24" compare to our old Wacom 21ux? how is the drawing experience? miles better as it's newer tech? is it accurate enough to use for professionals? I do a lot of digital illustration work with 2d raster programs like krita, clip studio, photoshop, and illustrator. smooth lines and accurate pressure is also important to me.

    • @Akiraruben
      @Akiraruben 3 роки тому

      @@altonszeto50 hi. The feeling of the wacom nibs is far away to compare it with xp, but isn’t really bad. The problem is the precision of the calibration. I’m looking the real sense of drawing. Is fine but you need to adjust it if you use different sw. for example i hate the cross in photoshop I prefer not having a cursor and to look at the nib and the sign, stroke direct under neath the nib. This is difficult to have in every sw. it’s fine in clipstudio, sketchbook, krita, not in corel painter. It’s fine in blender grease pencil. This is an annoying issue. The calibration doesn’t work fine and sometimes lost the data. You can save your prefs and re-upload. All works. But after 2/3 days change. This in wacom doesn’t happen. You can buy a protection sheet. For xp. To have a sense of paper. The nibs are the worst things. I adjust the old wacom felt nibs in the xp pen. Isn’t simple but it works.

    XP Pen is having a huge sale right now BUT.......People keep telling me that if I'm going to go for the best that I need the Cintiq Pro models. I'm just so on the fence because although I can afford it, it's still a HUGE chunk of change to drop. My biggest fears for this XP Pen Artist 24 Pro are centered around the pen lag and lack of paper feel. It sounds like you aren't noticing a lag even on fast strokes so maybe that issue is not a concern. You also don't seem to be getting the little fish hooks or line curls at the end of fast pen lines. Honestly, Have you ever tried a Cintiq? If so,...do you find that the Cintiq is THAT much better to justify the price? Was your decision to purchase the XP-Pen Artist 24 Pro STRICTLY a budget influenced one or did you actually choose it over a Wacom Cintiq because you really wanted to? Thanks man for the reviews!!
