*Lot of info, great info, but I need info on manifolds for a 2jzge vvti engine. I don't plan on having a turbo bigger than 64mm, and only plan on 500-550hp daily driver.*
I purchased the PHR S23 from RS based on your recommendation years back. During the processing, RS Moe notified me that PHR was upgrading the merge collector to Billet to negate the cracking issues associated you spoke on. Running dual Precision 46 WGs. The trumpets you were referring to, I believe, are velocity stacks. I also purchased the intake manifold you bought for the auto, w/ the velocity stacks. Note: I'm putting all this into a decently clean G35 Coupe. Would to drop it off for you to review once completed. You aren't to far away as I'm in the DMV area.
I am currently going with the Artec V Band and that exact turbo (6870). I agree after all the research and chat with my mechanic, this is the middle ground and probably keep me happy for a long time! Good video and awesome Supra content!
Good stuff, I have a future fab manifold with twin gates. We will see how well it holds. I like the fact that they offer a life time warranty if you are the original buyer.
Nice video. Wish you covered the SPA turbo top mount and the 6boost manifolds. You mentioned the phr cast sounds like a stock twin car... wonder if I should go for that if I'm after a stealthy setup
I'm going to be running the SPA topmount cast T4div manifold with a PSR Gen3 3584 T4div.85A/R turbo with a turbosmart wg45 hypergate on it. From the ppl I've talked to running that manifold there's no boost creep at all
May have talked to ya on IG before. But just started the vid. The single scroll mani with the “bad gate position “…🤔 Could you elaborate a little bit on what you mean exactly by the position of it? Like you mean how the manifold tubes sweep down and up, like the gate pipe is too high? Or too low? If so how does that effect boost creep? Are you sure it wasn’t an issue w the gate? Looks like you were running a purple top Tial. And then, when you switched to a manifold you liked. It looks like you also changed the WG to a black top. What was your reason for that change? I’ve listen to other super guy’s opinions. And a lot of guys, as long as you’re doing a street set up have good luck with that eBay cheaper manifolds. And the only time those become an issue is with bigger horsepower builds. Or drag builds. Mainly because fitment issues w larger turbos! I’m doing a street setup for now. And I am trying to figure out what I should go with.🤷🏼♂️.. Shooting for 650 wheel for a little . Then cams next year and push closer to 800 on flex fuel. Goal is 900 in the end. What do you recommend? Thanks for your time
Ahh twin gates!.. I mean, that’s another question not to overload you. But why do people run twin scroll turbo in manifold and also 2 WG’s?? I’ve heard people say it separates the banks for 3 and 3. What is it necessary? I just figured one big opening on the manifold in one big race gate would be more than fine.🤷🏼♂️ But this is all stuff I need to research. Since I recently just got back into the 2J thing last year. (A LOT has changed) lol And before that I was working on them before social media, and all that type of stuff (07) ish.
ive got a GE w-58 swapped from auto, full tomei xpreme 4" exhaust with 4"midpipe, mishimoto radiator. what do you recommend my next step be toward building the engine for na-t? i know the w-58 wont hold a lot of power but ill swap it out down the road. appreciate the videos, love all of the info!
Hi, what are your thoughts on the borg warner s2000 series turbo running 93 octane, t4 logstyle manifold (cast)? Goals are 400HP with forged internals for reliability. Also, whats your opinion on reverse mount manifolds?
Hey Ryan I just was just curious if the hot side intercooler piping from the old PHR cast manifold worked with the newer manifold you installed? Thanks for the great content!
01:02 - "23 lbs of boost on 11 lb spring"? Um.... I thought that was totally normal. In all turbo cars, I thought you use a spring rated at half of your target boost. Am I uneducated?
@@bishop_98 in this case, yes. 11psi is the base target pressure, meaning if no outside source (MAC valve / boost controller) that should be the MAX boost pressure you should see. If your car climbs past that (without a controller telling it to do) it means your manifold is unable to regulate the boost pressure properly. Rule of thumb WITH a boost controller is you can double whatever your base spring pressure is. In this case, I was not add of demanding an extra boost and it was doubling because the manifold was so poorly designed. Hope this helps brother.
I have the Powerhouse S45 and it's Amazing! I used to have a Suprastore open T4 and that boost creeped all day long and that was a nightmare, even my forst eBay chinese T4 I had on the car years ago was better than that one.
Ebay turbo manifolds. Can sound great. Hold power. Seen 1400+ through an auto from a friend. Single gate simplicity. Ive used it on gte, ge. Held boost. Ive had with s363, s257sxe, precision 6266, garrett g35-1050. Ive also had log manifolds, sounds like shit. Ive had a futurefab $1700 manifold and sounds like a damn 350z but great quality.
If you think your old manifold creeped bad my VWR hits 25psi with a 13psi spring. When my tuner asked what manifold i was running he literally said, "the guys that run those manifolds aren't worried about low boost" 😂
@Darkside-gd1om we where trying to set up my pump gas tune, if I run pump now it's because I just need to get home and there was no E. I spoke to VWR about and he said if I want anything lower I have to just run a very light spring.
Please make a sound comparison video
"It creeped more than a pedophile down the street from you." Now that was out of pocket 😂

Awesome, I moved from a supra store open to an Artec Twin and fell in love with the better response. Just a solid manifold. 1040whp on 30psi
what turbo you running? 78mm?
7273
But I also had race porting and polishing done on the head so the flow was really good
@@kanaka-sound damn nice, real efficient at that power with 30psi
50mm straightgate is pretty sweet, we plan on designing for it.
Awesome setup. Not a day goes by i don't wish I could drive a manual. With a setup like that it would hardly cross your mind i bet lol

What kind of manifold hardware would you go with using the cast iron manifold @13:29 ??

Is a cast manifold gonna make much difference in spool though?
Hey Ryan I just was just curious if the hot side intercooler piping from the old PHR cast manifold worked with the newer manifold you installed? Thanks for the great content!
VWR out of like 5 I've had idk about low boost though cause I'm at 20 minimum usually 30-40
@16:07 cam't the adjustable cams be used to shift that power band a little ?

Great video. With some good information!
I bought one of those MCC intakes and I hope it doesn't give me any problems
I bought it and have been running it on my Supra without a single issue, flawless.
Those “trumpets” are velocity stacks.
Which one has the least lag? V-band or twin scroll?
Twin scroll best for lag, v band is best for total flow (aka more power)
I bought an spa turbo manifold and intake manifold but I’ve yet to install them
I would like to know your thoughts on spa when you get to it
@@dominicthegreat6119 I got the T4 manifold design but I’ll keep you posted

Bro what's ypir supra pant code ?.is it the 199?
When you dropping in the aa80e?
i dont get that there are now flow charts on any manifolds. Please someone tell me why to choose the 3000usd instead of a 500usd
After u buy the 500.00 dollar manifold 4 times in 2 years . You might as well buy the 3k manifold
@@bigjdm5460 but why would you do that. A powerhoseracing manifold is 500 usd. and never heard any have issues
What about the PHR S45 manifold
I think that’s for 1,200hp or more
Great explanation
I'm biased but artecs the best

artec manifold costs more then a billet one in the UK
You had all these manifolds and no BPA? I'd say you are missing out on the best.
Cant do a turbo manifold comparison w/o the "thick" chinese manifold that ALOT of people run

Miggy built manifold... anyone?
