- "How to watch a movie in Quest 3 while playing a VR game?" Finally, we can watch media in the Quest 3 while playing a full VR game, and it's a simple as one click! Virtual reality has just taken a major leap forward with the Meta Quest v69 update - BUT there is a very quick step you must take for it to work! If you've wished you could seamlessly watch media like Netflix or UA-cam in your Quest headset, or even have a webpage open while you play a VR game, and be able to access both simultaneously without having to "click out" of one to get to the other - this will make you very happy!
Quest 2, Quest 3, Meta Quest 3, v69, vr news, new vr news, vr updates, watch Netflix in Quest, watch media in VR, seamless multitasking, best vr graphics, quest pro, Valve Index, Quest 3s, Rift, Vive Pro, Meta, vr headset
I use this everyday, tonight I'll watch some boxing while playing in to the radius, quest 3 has great clarity that allows this to be almost as good as watching my TV, I have a good 4k sony tv but seem to prefer watching movies in my headset because of the audio next to my ears
Love this! In fact, now I want to watch Boxing while boxing myself in THRILL OF THE FIGHT! LOL... Glad you're enjoying the wonderful clarity of those Quest 3 optics!
Real VR Fishing has this feature (apparently built in) as I'm using a Quest 2. Nothing like using a web browser, listening to music, watching video's etc., while chillin out fishing.
That is so cool - I feel like stuff like that probably helped to inspire Meta to add this functionality to their Quest line. Nice!
I use it for game walkthroughs when I get stuck in a game.
Yeah, great idea for that!
lol! “I’m right here jackass” made me laugh really hard 😂
It's funny because it's true. LOL
I got emotional when you talked to your valve index
Right? Damn, I still love that headset. If the resolution and lenses were better, I'd probably still be using it today, even with it being tethered. Can't wait to see what Valve does next headset-wise, if they actually do bring another one to market. Fingers crossed!
@@jollyjulian Jolly what do you think about the Viser headset by Immersed?
Is this feature limited to just a few games or is it compatible with all of them? Could I possibly play VRchat and watch UA-cam at the same time?
Does it seemingly take a toll on the performance of the game as well?
It will work, as far as I've seen so far, with any game, including standalone on the Quest, and PCVR. I've not noticed a massive hit in performance, but most of my uses so far have been when doing PCVR. When playing a native Quest game, the headset may have to use more computing power, so could be a little hit there, but I doubt it will be a lot. Hope that helps! Yes, you should be able to watch UA-cam in VRChat!
One way to get updates faster is joining the Public Test Channel
I have thought about doing that, but I've heard (maybe incorrectly) that it's hard if you ever want to opt-out of the test channel? I have considered that. Thanks for the reminder. I need to look into that more.
Very cool 😎👍 thanks for the update...a bit odd glazing Meta, but i guess if you want sponsors or partnership i guess its capitalistic and ok 😂
Thanks for the comment - and understand if you may feel I'm TOO pro-Meta. I just really do love my Quest 3, and the more the add to the functionality with updates, the better it keeps getting. Not looking for sponsorship or partnership or anything, just being as honest as I can be about what I love about this headset. While it's not perfect (but what is?), it is a pretty darned good headset for $500. Hope you're enjoying VR yourself, and catch you again soon!
Brill, Thanks, Have a good day
Thank you much - you have a great one too. Thanks for the comment, and for watching....
Cool
Yeah - a great quality-of-life feature for sure!
Yep that's what I want to do a million things at once to drain my battery faster with my quest 3. Maybe it's my headset but this thing seems to always need charged. I mean it's in the 90% range and it seems 30 minutes later it's 50% or around there. I even have a 12000 charge battery pack and it seems that charges it once or once and a half and then I have to recharge that as well. I know a bigger battery makes it heavier but wow it seems like I'm always charging it.
So, batteries - yeah.... what I did was, I took my BOBOVR headstrap, and not wanting to pay the $40 a pop for the batteries, I got a couple ANKER batteries - 10000mAH, and those will keep my headset battery constantly charged while playing. Then, I keep my headset battery at about 75% (best for longevity), and I just hot-swap the 2 external anker batteries I have on the back of the headset. I do have to disconnect battery from cable, and attach the new one, but takes about 5 seconds, and I can do without removing the headset. Then start the used up battery charging, and that gets me by. If I had 3 batteries, I'd probably NEVER have to stop playing, as one would always be charging, one ready, and one on headset. Anyway, that's my cheap-ish way of being able to use Quest 3 for HOURS AND HOURS without worry of running out of power.
@@jollyjulian I went with a cheap headstrap with a 12000 battery and I don't think it's very good. So it will charge my Quest 3 for I guess 2 times before I have to recharge again but it really seems like before I know it I have to keep charging it. Might get those Anker batteries and give them a try.
Hi, great video. How can I easily watch a film offline with no Internet. I.E ...on an aeroplane.
A great question! Very easy, overall. You do have to connect your computer to your quest to download the movie file to the headset. Then, you can watch by opening that video file in the FILES app on the Quest, or by watching in BIGSCREEN VR or VIRTUAL DESKTOP, or something like that. I do this all the time when flying, and it's GREAT!
@@jollyjulian . Awesome, Thanks for the response. Looking forward to it.
So when I am in MSFS 2020 and I push on the non-raised botton on the right controller, it bring ups the Virtual Desktop resume or quit message. It also brings up a window or two. I can move them around as you say and i can start videos for example. however when I hit resume on Virtual desktop so I can go back into the game it closes those windows that I setup. Am I missing a step here?
Great question, and I think I know what's going on there! When you're done setting up the window where you want them, DON'T press resume on Virtual desktop. Just leave those windows where they are (or close any you don't want open by hitting the X in the upper right, and move your controller off those windows and click anywhere else with the trigger, and you'll be able to control your game again while those windows stay open. That should do it!
@@jollyjulian Thanks for the reply I reallly appreciate it. I was able to do it also by minimizing the resume window and it went away. I guess accomlishing the same thing you were recommending. Again thanks for the help.
So if when you’re watching Airplane while flying your airplane. Do you hear the sound coming from both…?
Surely both work.
LOL - yes!!! Bonus! 2 planes!
“A hospital, what is it? It’s a big white building with doctors and patients….but that’s not important right now….” Love “Airplane!” It’s great having a window up and running during the game, kinda annoying when the game pauses until u click out of the new window, but it’s still cool
There is nothing realy new to play.....software dessert for the Q3 😢
But hey....we can play Q1 and Q2 Games on the Q3 😂
Without Pc, you can nearly stay on the Q2
Having access to a PC is huge - really does open up a lot of amazing games. But, not everyone has one, so more games coming to standalone! Batman and Behemoth coming - they are going to be awesome!
@@jollyjulian If they don't get postponed again. For example, Behe doesn't come until December and somehow I feel too old for Batman. Yes, there are many games, and yes, very few are Quest3 productions. The best things in the store still come from Quest1. Meta doesn't want to produce games itself. You can tell that now if you've been there since the beginning. Without a PC, you buy glasses with old games or glasses for media consumption. If you buy a PS5 and the store is 95% full of PS3 titles,... what do you think then?
To much talk for little info
Hey there - appreciate the feedback. I am a talker, but hopefully extra details, context, and perspective help for some viewers. Always open to critique, though!
69 my favourite number, year i was born in please people
Love it! "The summer of 69!" Go Brian Adams.... is he still alive? Miss me some Brian Adams....
@@jollyjulian yes i was born the summer holidays as well lol
