PSO2: Some Shiva Tips - Feat. Atomizer Fanatic [Info+GMV/Meme?]

- I've always wanted to make music videos, and meme videos, but also incorporate some info into them too. So, I ended up making this video for 3 reasons. The first is to "somewhat" give you an idea of what to avoid from Shiva. The 2nd is to show you how useful an atomizer fanatic ring is, and why I use it on every class. And the last, is due to me just wanting to make a Matrix meme/thing. And as simple as it is, I still had more fun making this than most other videos I've done in a long time.
If you or anyone you know was harmed by Shiva in the making of this video, you have my condolences. If it makes you feel any better, I still die a lot to some of her attacks too! There's sometimes just so many effects on screen that its hard to keep track!

I've felt very constricted with my current way of doing things, so I'd really like to start trying new things like this going forward! It won't be something I'll do a lot, but I don't want to stick to just informational talking guides forever. I hope everyone enjoys this, and if you take anything away from this video, I hope it's learning what attacks to avoid, that an atomizer fanatic ring is amazing, and that dying to boss mechanics is something that happens to the best of us!

Good idea, but if I could offer some advice, here it is!: Maybe give the text a more contrasting background or border, or flicker into existence or something to draw attention to your subtitles. I watched near to the end of the video before I noticed the text up top.

Maaan I had no idea that red sword of deathlock move was a counter. Was bugging me so much thinking I was in some kind of hit box. Thank you Blac as always for putting out excellent content

Glad you like it! I definitely want to do more, maybe once every few weeks. I would like to still incorporate info into them though, or have a theme. Like for this one, I first thought of the matrix when I first stopped getting caught by her attacks. And I always say how much I like atomizer fanatic :D
shiva's voice lines are a giveaway. so far only been killed by it twice. once when playing story mode blind when it dropped in jp, and second just to confirm.
A few things I would like to add:
-Mag's Auto Action can trigger her counter, so you probably don't want to feed your Mag if it has something like Piercing Ammo or Megid.
-She also has a voiceline whenever she activates hee counter, after a few runs it should be easy to recognize what she's doing so pay attention to that.
-Pets can't activate her counter, so if you play Summoner you can pretty much ignore everything and continue mashing buttons. Just don't do it if you use Rykros and have Alter Ego activated. (And even then the damage will be transferred to your pet if you have Dia Master, so you're pretty much unkillable anyways)
The fact that her voice is very audible in the boss fight show the devs did consider it, in case of effects clutter. It was a hidden genius move IMO

Maaan,I hate fighting against both Shiva and Varuna. But the drops on UH are kind of worth it in the end. My strategy is to always keep moving,find an angle,time your openings,and HEAL!!!
One of my pals is literally deaf so he can't hear her voicelines AT all. I was never struck by this myself, but I had ample warning ahead of time thanks to the PSO2 Fleet Discord, and that doesn't really count as proper now, either. Seeing as some people still don't know what causes it doesn't exactly inspire me with confidence, and I'm hoping they properly condition the player or telegraph attacks like these appropriately in NGS.
the actual problem is the effects clutter when fighting her so they do the audio route....they should learn more from Kingdom Hearts as Shiva's mechanics of the boss fight were similar to it
My alliance members complain about me using hunter sub with ranger.
They don't complain when I the only one that spend all the moons without dying once
A hunter sub is still completely fine for Ranger, still one of the best.
Might want to note that if you put down a Zanverse and someone else attacks inside it when it's counter time, you'll get stunned and killed too. It's *your* Zanverse!
I've heard some people say "tap your Zanverse" to replace it elsewhere but the truth is Zanverse (and Magiverse for that matter) seems to work as a field that give the player inside an invisible short buff, therefore even after you "tap Zanverse away" people that were inside the first one still attack and do a Zanverse proc that "belongs to you" as the buff lingers in the for a moment. I personally suggest you get a bit more meek with it if it's been a while since she's used the counter or avoid using it. Honestly don't even take it too hard if you die to it anyways, quest isn't gonna fail because of it. She doesn't SPAM this or anything.
I first noticed how the counter worked and stopped dying to it, then I felt glad that I had atomizer fanatic when half the group dies to it
another neat thing you can do with shiva's Big Red AOE with the swords is to hold out your photon blast just before the swords come out and wait until the whole thing blows up
the invulnerability from it will leave you safe
To the people who complained on getting hit by the Sword Counter......it's ok to get pissed but don't say it's cheap please as we learn from the bosses after playing a few times. No one is a genius and we all learn...even the best players have in every games have to learn. (note: to B2B you don't have to be nice all the time just like this meme video kudos to you)

Our damage was actually reduced a bit when fighting her :D And the healing was passive from an S grade augment on my weapon, along with using megiverse(which Luster can use ).
them: katana ph is bad
that one katana ph who keeps hitting close range and not dying: ok
Hard to watch her cues when she's obstructed by everyone's flashy ass PAs
she has a very distinct voice line for when she's going to use the counter, so using a headphone while playing is very helpful on this specific situation.
That feels like PSO2 in general at this point, unfortunately
Audio cues, and before someone complains about not hearing it go to your settings and adjust the volume.

Story version is worse lol. Nothing is safe, not even one shot protection skills.
Also let's avoid doing DoT moves because if she pops her counter and you're phantom Rifle using Strafe you'll get hit by it
Switching to a different weapon should stop your dots immediately. Also works for things like Ilgrants that is currently in flight.
Also if you are playing with sound, before doing her counter skill, Shiva will say "This is hardly worth my time" if English so you will know when to back down.

Haha glad to have you in it! Sorry if you were one of the ones I showed dying, it wasn't my intention to make anyone look bad. I actually tried to blur out most of the names in certain parts, but it ended up looking really bad that way so I didn't bother :/
@@JackSplains Fortunately, I don't die on those instantdeath mechanics :D And don't worry about blurring, it was mostly our Alliance MPA and when I posted this vid on discord they were only laughing that we made it in to the vid. There's even our inside joke Symbol Art at 1:07 :D Besides, IIRC it was either first or second day of that UQ so deaths were expected :D

Half of the reason why I made this was to show that it doesn't' matter if you die, so long as everything gets cleared in the end, that's all that matters. Of course you want fast and efficient clears, and good ranks too. But at the end of the day I'm just happy to finish the quest.
It's also really hard to see anything she's doing with 12 people dog piling her. I really wish I could turn off all combat effects for people not in my party.
She also says this is hardly worth my time just before she does the red dome

just use hu/et and be the rebellious person you are by hitting despite knowing a counter is coming.
Like Legit with Hu/Et and 3 guardian shield s grade augments (s1,s3 and s6) while being in guard stance you're practically invincible it's crazy!

I really hate that attack, the most cheapest move in Shiva's arsenal.
It's not even cheap. People who don't pay attention are the only ones getting smacked by it constantly. People need to start using their eyes and ears.
I actually like it. It gets easier to see coming after a couple of playthroughs aswell.
It's so hard to see some times. Is there a way to make it more visible?
it should be visible but the problem is that everyone hitting Shiva blinds you from seeing.
It's really hard to see with so many people attacking. Also, if you have voices on, she says "this is a waste of my time” and “This Isn’t worth my time" before doing it.
Also if you see people suddenly freeze with swords stuck in em. Just make like a statue.
