Hi Dr. Dray - I'm loving binging on your videos. I'm in my 50s and had worn my hair straight and fairly long (only very rarely blowing it dry and without using any other styling equipment) for years, and occasionally playing with color. It's medium texture and I have lots of it (according to my pain management doctor who has to inject botox as a migraine treatment into the muscles around my head that are mainly under my hair.) It's pretty healthy since I haven't abused it much over the years. I recently ended up with a disaster of a haircut and had to go much shorter than I'd ever wanted and now it takes a bit more to even make it look less terrible. (Same hair stylist as the last 15+ years but somehow we were really bad at communicating this time, even when I showed her a picture and told her I wanted the same exact thing as the last several times.) @@Thewhitequeen0 I have the hydration mask (and think it’s amazing) however I don’t know if the products are overrated. I never used the shampoo/conditioner/oil products from the line. The mask smell is pungent but not overpowering to me.
I have been using Garnier hair serum on my wet hair prior to blow drying. You can buy this at the grocery store. I like it. It helps to de-tangle my hair as I blow dry it. I also use Moroccan Oil (salon product, not CVS one) hair mask and clarifying shampoo once a week. I like those a lot. The last time I was at the salon, they gave me a free sample of the Moroccan Oil hair thickener. I liked it well enough. And since I color my hair, I often use the Framisi shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair (the purple one). I like that very much.
I used to love maui until my hair started falling out. I did some research and realized that there are formaldehyde releasers in it. Also most of the shampoos and conditioner you can get at places like walmart.
Look for "curly girl method", and just look at curly hair channels for that. It's hard to give advice on something that you have no experience with, I think.
I’ve been wanting this video for months!! I’ve been waiting and just bought the Native cucumber and mint conditioner and Not Your Mother’s Matcha Green Tea shampoo. I love both the scents although I know fragrance isn’t good for the skin. Both seemed like the ingredient list was alright. However I use to use Petal Fresh Superfoods Damage Control shampoo and conditioner the Kale Omega 3 Keratin version and I’ve been loving it for years because it is sulfate free but wanted to try something new.
The Eliza and Eva one sound interesting. I’m currently using the no nothing moisture shampoo as my daily and Karols daughter wash delight 2-3 night a week. Both recommended by you and I love them👌🏼
I have arthritis in my hands and get annoyed with the conditioner plastic bottles that are too thick. I rather the they go with function than beauty. Also I like a cap that allows me to tip the bottle upside down when I am nearing the end. I think the companies count on you getting fed up and throwing the last quarter of it away 😆
I had excessive hair loss due to having Covid back in August 2020. It's growing back now and is about 1"long. The hair that didn't fall out is like cotton candy and I can't bring myself to cut it off. Do you have any recommendations to make it look normal? My head is itching like crazy, is that normal for hair growing out.
Love the topic, always about more videos on hair health! For us guys, you should make some videos on hair products that you approve that are geared towards men!
Would love more fragrance free recommendations! I happened upon a brand called "SEEN" that's fragrance free, and claims to be "good for your skin" too. Would love your thoughts!
I recommend shampoo & conditioner... Aveda rosemary mint, QVC nick chavez,Ulta clairol, Sauve apple, and L’Oréal kids (it’s like j&j but scented fruity) 💕
Maui Moisture shampoos smell amazing. My sister used to use them a lot and I've debated it, but I'm loving the Desert Essence coconut line! After I finish, may try the Maui just to see, but I'm telling ya, Desert Essence is one of the best kept secrets, but I'd love to hear your opinion! (I swear I'm not a shill lol)
Yes I love the DE coconut oil duo. I used to use that. If you like those then you will love the Giovanni coconut oil duo. In the purple packaging. I love them. Plus great masks by them as well.
I loved maui shampoo and conditioner until I realised that it contained formaldehyde releasing ingredient and I could no longer use it as I am terrified by this type of ingredient. Can you please tell me if I am overreacting when it comes to formaldehyde realesing compounds, ingredients. They are in most haircare products and I struggle finding and sticking to a shampoo and conditioner. I am honestly terrified of so many ingredients that it drives me crazy.
The Maui moisture hydrating shampoo and conditioner is a holy grail set for me! (The pink hibiscus ones.) I don't like any of the other products from the company, but those two. But my goodness, I never never want to be with our them!
Hi, Dr. Dray! Love your videos :) They are always so informative and have helped me so much. If you have the time, I would love a review of LOMA haircare. Have a good day and thank you for this video!
Is baby shampoo good for adult hair? I experienced an allergic reaction to a shampoo bar, so I went back to my head and shoulders (as I have been dealing with dandruff for a long time), but my scalp was still extremly itchy! I tried the Dove baby Shampoo, and I was shocked. My hair was softer than it ever was and my scalp felt good after a week, also my dandruff stopped( I have oily, dandruff prone scalp)...
I use sebamed hairloss shampoo and repairing conditioner, a bit pricey where i'm from but it helps a lot on my hairloss problem. I purchased Elizavecca Cer-100 treatment to try as my hair gets frizzy specially on summer time hope it works on me 😊
I'm a fan of Eva NYC. I have fine, damaged hair but my hair loves their hair mask. It comes in a giant pink tub and is $14.99 at Ulta. It leaves my hair very soft and feeling lightweight. I only use it on the mid length to the ends of my hair. I have been so curious about the air drying duo from them. Since I hardly use heat I think I have to try it. Thank you for the great video.
Function of Beauty is the best! I have had been hesitant to try another "internet " brand but this was a great recommendation! Thank you! I am a big fan of Derma E so that's a must try. I see the Maui products often but wasn't sure if worth trying so thank you! I also loved the Smirnoff reference! (I am from Jersey: Smear Knoff...LOL!)

Yay for hair care!! I love trying different hair products. These sound nice. Thanks, Dr Dray! Happy Wednesday. Hope you have a lovely evening. 💙
I have been waiting for this video for a long time. Congrats on the 1.12M subscribers 😍
I used to love maui until my hair started falling out. I did some research and realized that there are formaldehyde releasers in it. Also most of the shampoos and conditioner you can get at places like walmart.
Many products contain formaldehyde releases, lotions, nail polish, shampoos/conditioners...
@@flipgirlnarie2292 so sad. 😔
What are the formaldehyde releasers called so I can look out for them on ingredients lists?
Thank you for this!!! I've been using Redken for a long time and I'm happy with it but I'm always on the lookout. May give the Maui Moisture a try.
Have a wonderful everyone! Thanks Dr Dray
Enjoy your day 😊
I love your hair care videos. Can you please do a video on how to care for curly frizzy breakage prone hair? 👩🦱
I have only used the EVA NYC exfoliating salt scrub shampoo and I love it! I have fine textured hair so I use it to get rid of any build up
I am so grateful for all of your videos. Thanks for being a real person in a world of Influencers and thanks for sharing your knowledge with us
The Eliza and Eva one sound interesting.
Happy Wednesday dr Dray and everyone 😀 great topic 👍 always like to hear about new shampoos have a fabulous day love to mom and Tybee 🥰🥰🐶🐶
Greetings Mary Ann Gonzalez hope u r well n Happy Wednesday😀👍💜....
@@whitneybrown4067 happy Wednesday Friend hope you are having a wonderful day 🥰🥰💕💕🌸🌸
Perfect timing! Just when my favorite shampoo got discontinued.
My favorite was the cheapy Vo5 Balsam and Protein. I absolutely loved that scent!!!!
Dr Dray I keep hearing about Porosity of the hair, could you do a video about this? I find it confusing. Love you, thanks ❤️
In the mean time, you could check out channels by trichologists like Nina Ross and William Gaunitz.
When the first ad that popped up was a commercial on St. Ives apricot scrub 😅😅😅

It’s crazy because so many hairstylist say to stay away from that Maui because it is so bad for your hair
Have an amazing day everyone ❤️❤️
The Eva Nyc therapy sess mask is good :) definitely worth trying
Just purchased this today, can't wait to try it!
Just what I needed today. Thank you Dr dray for lovley content as usual ❤❤❤❤
Hi, Dr. Dray! Love your videos :) They are always so informative and have helped me so much. If you have the time, I would love a review of LOMA haircare. Have a good day and thank you for this video!
Happy Wednesday dr dray ♥️♥️♥️
Happy Wednesday!
I just got done washing my hair 😂
Me too💧
Is baby shampoo good for adult hair?
I experienced an allergic reaction to a shampoo bar, so I went back to my head and shoulders (as I have been dealing with dandruff for a long time), but my scalp was still extremly itchy! I tried the Dove baby Shampoo, and I was shocked. My hair was softer than it ever was and my scalp felt good after a week, also my dandruff stopped( I have oily, dandruff prone scalp)...
Dalai so agree with you ..on Dove baby shampoo works wonders for me ..leaves my hair so soft and shiny🤗
Talk about the cleaning agent ingredient in shampoos. Should we be using a certain type of cleaning agent for different hair type?
