The thing about Kazuya's back was a bit misleading! It's not like that they took the animation DIRECTLY from Tekken 7, like a port or anything. But the inspiration was definitely there, given the similarities, so I guess it's more of a case of being very loyal to the source material. Whenever a video series like this reaches it's conclusion, I usually like going back into the older videos to revisit the parts I don't fully remember or might have missed even. Especially when it's a "bigger" series, I like when they're combined into one video so I don't have to watch multiple videos. Even if it's easier to find something specific (in case you want to show something specific to a friend) when a series is divided into parts, for me at least, it's easier to stay engaged in a series if you watch it all in one sitting rather that watching part of it and not finding time to watch the rest. His voice is absolutely hilarious and hearing him yell Schiggy over and over again is a riot. Also, Ivysaur becomes 'Bisaknosp', which is a mouthful to say.
The program they use to animate is most definitely not in engine so the captain falcon animations were likely used as placeholders, while they finished animating what they'd actually use for min min, then they just never deleted the placeholder animations after replacing them.
If you're after more ideas for trivia videos, you could do Assist Trophies, Pokémon and boss characters. Then ultimately I imagine you'll likely be following this up with stage trivia broken up in a similar manor to the fighter trivia :D
11:53 The mouth animation changing in English and Japanese is like how all Kingdom Hearts games does. Which I think it's interesting detail. Good intention to detail.
Fun fact: Sora has 8 different costumes. These costumes come from, in order, KH 1, 2, 3D, 3, 2, 2, 2, 3. Add them all together you get 18. Most of his costumes are from Kingdom Hearts 2. 8 costumes minus 2 is 6. There's only one costume from KH 1. 6-1=5. 18-5=13. Not a coincidence. But that's not where it ends. Sora's classic mode includes 7 stages, and a bonus stage, equalling 8. Eight is well known for being the amount of Disney worlds in Kingdom Hearts 2 (Atlantica? What's that?). In that game there are also 3 worlds from the Kingdom Hearts series. 8+3=11. In Smash Bros, how many allies of Sora's were removed? 2: Donald and Goofy. 11+2=13. This proves that Donald and Goofy are in fact minions of Xehanort, who is still alive and possessing The Master of Masters, and we should expect this in Kingdom Hearts 4.
People only watch your smash stuff because that is what you are known for, you can easily cover other games, but it will take some time for audience interested in those finds your channel Which won't be hard considering the quality of your videos
Sakurai used Kazuya twisting his back as an example on his channel of how broken looking animations are used to maximize the impact on moves, which made me realize how weird they actually look when you pause and take a glance at it.
It looks much weirder in Tekken 3 probably because of the polygons, but it still carries into later games If you look out for it in the Tekken 3 post KO replay, you can quite _easily_ spot Jin/Heihachi's very abnormal waist
A really interesting detail relating to the Kingdom Hearts 7 and 13 thing that I doubt was intentional is that in the fighter screen if you have echo fighters take up separate slots (like you do in this video) There are 7 rows and 13 columns of characters.
from a game dev perspective, the Captain Falcon/Min Min trivia is bc characters are made using a default code from one of the original characters that best fits; the sword fighters all use Link as a base, while characters like Little Mac, Ryu/Ken, Min Min use captain falcon as a base for skeleton similarities and a more efficient time coding the moves. The reason you never see these animation transfers on any of these characters however, except for Min Min's down B specifically, is because her in-game down B has no animation tied to her, but rather the arm which is a seperate entity. The animation for Falcon Kick (being down B) is in her code, but is just set to be "hidden" when you input the move. They never made an animation for her down B which is why the preset Captain Falcon down B is still there in it's place.
also Sephiroth's background isn't pre-rendered, it's very much a modelled 3D space with a fire shader and all, just obviously not as crazy detailed in poly count and textures as the usual victory area
@@reubenazza5551 The wiki might mean the flame textures are pre-baked, but that's a really weird way to phrase it, since all textures are pre-baked. Sometimes people have weird ideas and explanations, like how some use "render" as the term for a different costume for a character, even though "render" only means something was converted from one medium to raster graphics.

@@YounesLayachi They're more distinct than OoT Zelda and Sheik in terms of lore, but less distinct in terms of gameplay. Them being and not being separate characters is true for both lore and gameplay.
You started talking about the Spirits Sora brought with him at minute 13. And I think that all of this 7/13 stuff is kinda funny. Pretty sure Sakurai and Nomura had a good laugh about it.
The "bug" carried over from his origin and this is the kind of bugs I love. I mean people say it's lazy, but sometimes I like to see it as homage. A bug feature.
I wonder if Min Min has Captain Falcon's special moves as fallback to ensure game stability, or just that the engine requires it to work; similar to how all Mario Kart 8 (Deluxe) tracks must have at least one default coin in it to work, even if there's alternative pickups.
But dang seeing Sora's intro again, it's still amazing and beautiful. I gave up after Sephiroth's announcement but the moment the fire started to look like Strike Raid, I was so excited in the miniscule of moment, and then the Disney Keychain sealed it. (I still don't get why Kingdom Key is Mickey's Head in-lore, besides of copyright.)
Another Steve fun fact not mentioned on his article is that his crawling speed is the same speed as when you sneak and hold two movement keys (e.g. forward+left). In Smash this would be 0.3 units per frame, equivalent to 1.8 meters per second. In case you branch away from the fighter articles, I'd like to mention that a lot of the wiki/editors are more focused on the competitive side. This means articles that have no competitive relevance (items, non-tourney-legal stages, certain modes, etc.) may not be as fleshed out or aren't as well researched. Most are good, but if you see a rough one, that's why. I think you may find some interesting stuff in the trophy and spirit list pages (maybe pass over the inspiration column in the tables. they're an eternal WIP and we haven't decided on the best course of action yet. Aaronitmar probably did it better).
Also it's funny the smash trailer bothered to sync the mouth for a slight chuckle but the port of the gba kingdom hearts to consoles in one of the collection doesn't for any of the actual dailouge.
I do actually think Min Min was supposed to have a reflector on both moves, as in ARMS her legs act as reflectors. They probably realized how busted a dash attack reflector was and removed it, but kept up smash.
Soo about Min min and the animations: From a programmers perspective I could see them using the animations as a base and placeholder to have something while work on the final animation is being done. maybe they kept in those original ones as a back up in case the modified ones didn't work out for some reason, and then they forgot to remove the OG ones. if you are working under time pressure and with a ton of versions and backups it can be fairly easy to miss a file or two which aren't being used anymore or never got used. I have seen Programs where almost every file was duplicated somewhere and most of the challenge of changing something came from figuring out which was the actually relevant file...
9:19 no It very much does not. masahiro sakurai talks about this animation in particular in his video on exaggeration. But even if he didn't the smash one is clearly less extreme than the original when looking side by side. This animation was recreated not ported.
A weird thing that I’ve experienced with Sora is that when you freeze someone using Blizzaga at the edge of a stage, if they fall close enough to the lefthand ledge, a load of collision effects are displayed. I haven’t heard anyone discuss it and I thought I’d share it here!
For min min and the falcon kick animations, I think the actual reason as to why she has the animations there still intact is because she doesn't really have an animation for down special, it just instantly changes her arm and has a particle effect, and since falcon kick is down special, and min min doesn't use an animation for down special, they simply left the animations intact there, since there's no point in touching them since she'll never use the down special animation. So then why not delete them? idk, probably an engine limitation or it simply didn't matter
Aegis, Sora and Sephiroth spawning in the left. Means that they are the furthest away. Like in most RPGs. I say most because it doesn't really count for Aegis. But yes, it's a RPG reference

You started talking about the Spirits Sora brought with him at minute 13.
And I think that all of this 7/13 stuff is kinda funny.
Pretty sure Sakurai and Nomura had a good laugh about it.
Another fun thing about Steve, he kind of the first Indie made character to be in smash
5:49 What is he doing to that poor sheep?
The "bug" carried over from his origin and this is the kind of bugs I love.
I mean people say it's lazy, but sometimes I like to see it as homage. A bug feature.
Steve breaking seemingly everything makes sense since that’s half of his game’s gameplay
That would explain the Pickelmen in the Megaman series, LOL
I wonder if Min Min has Captain Falcon's special moves as fallback to ensure game stability, or just that the engine requires it to work; similar to how all Mario Kart 8 (Deluxe) tracks must have at least one default coin in it to work, even if there's alternative pickups.
Nice job on the Hale's own direct hit
"Makes sense, he's a busy man, he's got fire to walk into." -PKBeats about Sephiroth
OH JEEZ DON'T TALK ABOUT CHANGING THE COMPILED VERSION OF THIS SERIES LOLLL /=W=\
YOU'RE GONNA MAKE ME HAVE TO WATCH IT ALL OVER AGAIN LOL >W
AawwwWWWH YOU LIKED MY COMMENT OMG I LOVE YOU TYSM AAWWWWH >W
What were you doing to that sheep at 5:50
Oooh! LOVELY CUTE NEW INTRO, LOVELY~
Saw you on TF2 the other day, love your content!
Congrats guy! Thank you 💪💪🫡🫡
But dang seeing Sora's intro again, it's still amazing and beautiful. I gave up after Sephiroth's announcement but the moment the fire started to look like Strike Raid, I was so excited in the miniscule of moment, and then the Disney Keychain sealed it. (I still don't get why Kingdom Key is Mickey's Head in-lore, besides of copyright.)
1:56 I didn't even know her up smash was a reflector
Masahiro Sakurai actually talked about the Kazuya thing on his channel at one point: ua-cam.com/video/zNBKzLzDKtM/v-deo.html
13:17 its funny that them not being able to use some of the characters caused this coincidentally
Remember when people were saying Steve would suck?
Playing against Sora makes me want to punch my tv 13 times
Also it's funny the smash trailer bothered to sync the mouth for a slight chuckle but the port of the gba kingdom hearts to consoles in one of the collection doesn't for any of the actual dailouge.
I do actually think Min Min was supposed to have a reflector on both moves, as in ARMS her legs act as reflectors. They probably realized how busted a dash attack reflector was and removed it, but kept up smash.
Unless I'm missing someone, sora is the only character voiced by an oscar nominee in the game
ピッケル is also used to refer to pickaxes in Minecraft by the community, like ダイヤピッケル
Really? I didn't know that! That's pretty cool, I still have yet to run into the word myself but I'll keep this in mind
WOAH!!! THIS IS THE FINALE ON CHARACTERS? WOWWWW LOL
I would personally be really exited if you made a zelda video!
The self-inflicted spinal surgery has actually been in the game since Tekken 3.
Sakurai talked about Kazuyas spine and how it twists on his UA-cam channel.
I NEVER KNEW CONSUMING LIQUID ITEMS IN SMASH HAD A DIFFERENT SOUND EFFECT WOW LOL
I guess Steve eats drinks, apparently, LOL :)
I appreciate the Zelda gameplay at the end, instead of always TF2 👍
WOW LOL
BYLETH'S CLASSIC ROUTE'S FINAL BATTLE DOOOOES LOOK REALLY FUNNY LOL
Soo about Min min and the animations: From a programmers perspective I could see them using the animations as a base and placeholder to have something while work on the final animation is being done. maybe they kept in those original ones as a back up in case the modified ones didn't work out for some reason, and then they forgot to remove the OG ones. if you are working under time pressure and with a ton of versions and backups it can be fairly easy to miss a file or two which aren't being used anymore or never got used. I have seen Programs where almost every file was duplicated somewhere and most of the challenge of changing something came from figuring out which was the actually relevant file...
Why is that kazuya broken back so funny?? 😂
THAT POOR SHEEP
What about the last slot, the random character?
i would've loved if kazuyas victory "theme" plays with the music continuing in the background like in tekken
(6:05) You say the background is pre-rendered, but that doesn't look like pre-rendered flames, considering he's walking into it.
Just because it's prerendered doesn't mean he couldn't walk through it
It's basically an animated texture on a flat plane so collision isn't necessary
Death to the PKBeats logo, long live the PKBeats logo!
King Daddyde
9:19 no It very much does not. masahiro sakurai talks about this animation in particular in his video on exaggeration. But even if he didn't the smash one is clearly less extreme than the original when looking side by side. This animation was recreated not ported.
WOW KAZUYA HAS THE BEST "CROWD CHEER" I THINK NOW LOL
I NEVER KNEW LOL
A weird thing that I’ve experienced with Sora is that when you freeze someone using Blizzaga at the edge of a stage, if they fall close enough to the lefthand ledge, a load of collision effects are displayed. I haven’t heard anyone discuss it and I thought I’d share it here!
I love Min Min
Whatever doesn't kill kazuya makes him stronger.
(There is a lot that doesn't kill him, and he is already super strong.)
5:32 is that a freaking Herobrine shrine
How dare he not do random's trivia
6:18 Sephiroth off to visit his mother.
nice rebrand
I can’t believe Kazuya breaks his back just like Gyutaro
Not to mention Sora has 7 accurate alts
The blue one uses the KHDDD outfit, when it originated from KH2
Aegis, Sora and Sephiroth spawning in the left. Means that they are the furthest away. Like in most RPGs. I say most because it doesn't really count for Aegis. But yes, it's a RPG reference
you should also make a super cut of all the model issue facts
