    This is a perfect project that my 6 year old daughter and I can do together.. Even my teenage boys would enjoy making this style blanket as they could personalize it with their own color or patterns 😃 thanks for this idea Darlene💗

    Hi Darlene - we really enjoy watching you. We tried this project with heavy duty fleece but still had the holes you were mentioning. So, we decided to put a back on the entire blanket to make it a bit heavier and "hide" the holes. We like, how at the end of your video, you take the time to review your work and your thoughts on it. It helped us choose the fabric we wanted to use. Happy Holidays!!

    I was going to ask if you had ever made one of these when I saw your no sew scarf video. I love how it turned out!

    OMGoodness! Your video is the answer to my very long dilemma, of how I can use the corner pieces I have left from all the blankets I made. I knew I wanted to create a blanket out of them, but they're so small I couldn't visualize how. Now I know. ☺👍👏👏 Thank you sooo much for posting this. Now I'm going to subscribe to you. ☺ Looking forward to seeing what you come up with using those smaller corner pieces. I may recreate your design too.

    Thanks for sharing the Walmart tip. I got the fleece blankets cheaper than a yard of fleece for my rag quilts I make.

    This seems like a great way to make a mostly no sew, weighted blanket! Just put two pieces together to make it almost like a bean bag, add in fabric glue for safety, and add in the pellets for it. Might try it out to see how this will work

    Love your videos, and I love the fact that you give dimensions, and that you make cardboard tools, lol Some of us elderly people who are sewing for the first time in years do not have the money for all the fancy tools. I had one of those rotary cutters, being left handed I just couldn't use it and put it away. I think if I tried again, pushed it away from me instead of bringing it forward, maybe that would work, but now I can't find it, lol
    Thanks for the talent and the laughs!

    This idea could be useful to make a pet cushion. Make two blankets join them together fill with some kind of wadding, can be opened so wadding can be removed for washing.

    Thanks I really enjoy listening to you and I totally found you by accident I just tuned in and there you were I've seen your vellumes on when you started and I'm very happy for you especially considering that I have never looked up how to do quilts but I did look them up on Google cause I wanted to buy one! So it's funny to me that they advertise sites to buy them expensively and then you pop up on how to make it inexpensively and with my own style and artistic twist, I guess they sent me to you when they seen she ain't buying no quilts let's see if we can get her to at least try to make one..I've always love making things but my attempts at quilting have been disastrous I just get overwhelmed see squares all cut up and having to sew the right sides and all the rules so this is perfect for me I can't wait to try this.Also I have to say that your instructions just stick in your head some tricks vloggers use is they. make it so you have to go back several times to get info for the craft I don't like that at all your simplicity is well received and I appreciate it alot. Love love your positive attitude and your tips and tricks your very efficient and easy to follow and soothing to listen to. You also have another gift you have a way to explain how you achieve your goals that I've struggled with for a longtime, I'd love to see something along the lines on how you have trained your mind to stick to goals and achieve your dreams I feel many men and woman can benefit from it cause your especially good at motivation. You have a really nice way about you, I'm subscribed..keep them coming!

    I think to make it a little more thicker and more put together I would put a solid whole piece for the bottom and tie it around the edges 😆 just a thought but an awesome project!!

    Definately a great idea to use 3" strips, the first quilt I did for my daughter was 2" and it was more difficult. I'm really getting into these types of projects!!

    Hi Darlene! Would it be possible, to avoid the big gaps in between where 4 squares meet, to tie them together across? So in your case pink with pink and white with white. Does that make sense? Hard to explain :-/

    • @darlene.michaud
      @darlene.michaud  7 років тому +3

      YES!!! I thought about that this morning and my friend Sandy Pro thought of it too! We are all thinking alike! I might have to do an update about that method! Funny how something so simple takes time for me to figure out. lol

    • @claudiacrossland
      @claudiacrossland 7 років тому +1

      Darlene Michaud Cool, I shall give it a try! Been fantasising about a rag quilt ever since I saw you make one but I'm not a sewer and buying one here in the UK seems to be quite an expensive mission. So this might be the closest I'll ever get to one *pathetic laugh*

    • @claudiacrossland
      @claudiacrossland 7 років тому +1

      Darlene Michaud Ah, yes, good idea! Think I would prefer flannel as a material in which case. Hope there'll be a video for that :-)

    • @darlene.michaud
      @darlene.michaud  7 років тому

      If I can figure it out, for sure there will be a video. And it could even be quilted if someone does not mind tying a few knots to hold batting between the flannel pieces. Might make for a fun no sew quilt project! I will try very hard to do one soon.

    I would ignore tying the corners until it was put together completely, then go back and tie the corners to the opposing squares corner so it would close the hole. does that make sense?

    • @sixpackbinky
      @sixpackbinky 6 років тому

      Christy In The Carolina's I have seen it done that way, it closes the gaps...

    Hi, I want to make a no sew fleece blanket for my niece. I watched your video and was wondering if you could put a solid piece of fleece on the other side and tie all the outer strips together with the strips from the back piece. Do you think that would make it too bulky?

    When I do my fleece blankets..
    A suggestion;
    I tie every other string around the edges..instead of taking each strand.. makes it really cute also.. but it makes less time.. and it still looks awesome❤️
