I think jazz is in a very paradoxical predicament. One the one hand i wished it was so much more appreciated in our world but on the other hand it is so cringe when i hear these bourgeois news castors talking about it like its a new car model. Now i understand that jazz is to be left alone to the authentic true listeners of it. The underground. It is very sad that jazz has been highjacked by the bourgeosie when it acctually came from the oppressed poor people of america.
Not everything needs to express a struggle. Even in the most tortured lives there are moments of joy. Part of what we're seeing here is the joy of creating music together.
Two superb and dynamite musicians!
My best Jazz hero for evermore

I guess it comes instantly and makes you use whatever is at your disposal (scales, patterns), but you have to make these tools live inside you first?
