  • In the wake of Hurricane Ida, Louisiana is facing extensive power outages and fuel shortages which could last for weeks.
Fears of a repeat of the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina back in 2005 have diminished - but in the sweltering summer heat, and with COVID cases still on the rise, there may be difficult times ahead the people of New Orleans.

I bet the shop owners are suprised to see that the goods in their stores have all evaporated in the heat.

I’d be very surprised if it took a month. They seem to say a lot longer then it actually takes.

Things get fixed gradually - some in a day or two , others maybe a lot longer .

Hello from Lafourche Parish, Louisiana. I just recently got my power back. Some are actually still without power just south of me. But, they're working on getting it restored

Grabbing a grocery cart to load up on gas is not a bad idea. Few people in cars since they needed A/C and then ran out of gas waiting or just gave up.

Man Louisiana looking like Hati without the earthquake, you’d think with all the hurricanes they’d learn how to hurricane proof the state by now

The power was purposely cut. The storm damage was much less than category 4, more like category 1.

That woman complained that they just keep doing the same things as before and expect it to be different . Maybe she should consider not living in such a stupid place .

It doesn't help when FEMA keeps rebuilding those houses with tax payers money. They can stay where they are at now.

Unconfirmed sources have confirmed Joe Biden said people coming across the southern border and from Afghanistan are used to living like this! An America should get used to living like this too!!!!
