Print looks great! Word of warning. Been a contract printer for quite some time. Don't burn out with too much work. If it's the money, raise your prices, lose some clients and make the same or even better. I promise, this gets to be a lot when it's all day, every day.

Thank you! This is a retail client, and most of our work has been retail. We're actually raising our contract prices 10-15% and taking on just enough to fill in the gaps to be honest. The opportunity is there to take on more to the extent of needing another auto, but we're rather be paid well and not overwhelmed. Definitely can agree with you. After taking on a bunch of contract work and realizing it's place in our shop.

More power to you for figuring all this out, but man, the art of knowing which paddle rubber to use and how many plows or scrapes.....screen printing is going to be a lost art with all of these damn machines these days.

I doubt that. There's a lot of screen printers that manually print, including myself until here recently (it's how I started out). I think what is lost is the value of the art more than anything. It's very labor intensive and to make a good living at it you have to really churn out a high quantity. I could have kept screen printing manually, but as I get older, and the demand gets higher, there's no way a shop can keep up with printing things by hand. I would love to print things manually, charge what I need to pay my overhead, and myself, which isn't much. But when someone else is doing the same quality work on an automatic, faster, and at a lower price, we'd be out of business because the price per shirt would be too much. There's still a lot of art form printing with an auto. From squeegee selection, pressure, separating the art, mesh selection, so on. The only thing a manual takes out of the equation is the exhaustion of physically pulling the squeegee.
