Add a couple of tea light candles to the mylar blanket and you can stay warm for several hrs while you wait.
I like the around the neck aspect. You go off trail to answer nature without your pack, slip, break your leg,you still have it with you.
All good common sense gear ,I like this a lot and kids will love having their own private grown up survival kit , once you have shown them how to use it .I love it to be honest ,great stuff .
Cool little kit 👍
It would make a nice small kit for a small kayak like my 10 ft lifetime kayak
A product that could save your life. As an avid hunter, I know too well how things can go wrong. 👍👍
Nice kit. Well thought out.
I add a couple of water purification tablets and maybe a compressed bandage some Band-Aids and some gauze pads and alcohol swabs and a couple matches
I never commented but I like your channel. You are awesome. Inm Bryan
Thank you sir!
Nice little base survival kit 👍🏻
I really like the chem light on a string for signaling
I like that sat up I need one.
This is really a nice little kit and very well priced considering the price of things these days. If I could make a suggestion, drop those two fire starters and add in one 8 or 12 hour liquid candle. If you're hurt, the chances of you gathering wood to make a fire are slim, and dry wood during hunting season is as rare as hens teeth, and if you're lucky and do have enough dry wood, just use the candle as your fire starter. If you're not hurt, you'll probably keep walking, trying to get out, until your dead tired and realize you're there for the night, and by then it's too dark to look for wood, so either way, you're screwed for wood.
My logic was I'd lean against a tree, wrapped in a mylar blanket, with a candle between my legs and try to stay warm until morning, and then find my way out.
The caps on them are GREAT, and in over 25 years of carrying them, I've never had a leak, but in a kit, I think I'd shrink wrap them like you did the cordage, just to make sure. Even if they do leak, the candles I use now, are rated by DOT as a vegetable type oil and non-flammable.
For $0.69 each for an 8 hour candle, and to make your kit have something different, it might be worth considering. I haven't found them cheaper than at 100candles, BUT the crappy part is, you have to buy in bulk, 180 of them at a time. If you have a website, it might be worth getting that many and selling them in a group of three or five for a few bucks. The other thing is, you can refill these with a needle oiler, through the bleed holes in the top, so even when you use them up, you can refill them a few times and the wick still reach the bottom.

When I lived in northern Wisconsin, we always carried a mylar blanket, couple feet of duct tape to tape the blanket closed around you, and a wax candle in our jacket pocket, until those liquid candles came out. I'm a big fan of these in a kit or just my pockets during the winter. Anyway, that's my two pennies worth. Keep up the great work.
Great Kit at a good price for 2024. Couple of suggestions. Toss a couple of decent Bandaids in there with some Alcohol Swabs. Also, I own that flashlight, but in Black. You can reverse the pocket clip and then attach it to the bill of a baseball cap and use it as a Headlamp. Hope this helps.
I really like this kit, especially keeping all of the contents together. I carry almost all of this already, but its spread out between separate pockets and bags and I'd have to do a gear dump just to find what I'm looking for. Simplicity is better.
Nailed it thank you
Awesome little safe kit.
Love this kit everyone should have one
I just ordered 5
Nice little kits.
Awesome video.
I have that same kit from Hook! He's such a wonderful man. Anyway, I separated its components and now use the orange bag for my toilet paper, and it's PERFECT for it.
So you walk around with 💩 covered tp hanging from your neck? Just kidding.🤪 I do have a question tho. Doesn't separating all the components kinda defeat the purpose of the kit?
Good video thanks for sharing YAH bless !
Useful info in your videos. Very good presentation. Thanks.
Thank you!
👍🏻👍🏻
Nice compact kit! Looks like there might be room for additional gear in the pouch. I’m ready to purchase one!
For sure. I would add some bandaids
@@ThePreparedWanderer yeah, a small boo boo kit would fit too I think. Might be a little tight, but that’s ok! How much is the supplement kit?
Nice color for the bag too.
Maybe putting some water purification tablets….
The mirror doesn’t look particularly shiny. I’d try to give it a polish to make it more effective.
There is a protective film on the mirror. Once that’s removed, very shiny! Good eyes !
A few years ago someone was out on a local trail-conservation area within city limits. One report was he spent one night out & another report was two nights. So obviously this guy went out hiking with absolutely nothing, not even a phone. They said emergency services carried him out so I’m guessing he slipped & trashed his back or leg, they never said about what the injuries were. A simply kit would have made a big difference.
Very sad.
You should do a gear loadout to the back left of you looks pretty cool
It's coming 👍🏼
@@ThePreparedWanderer I’m looking forward to that video
Nice kit to give a college kid.
👍🇲🇾
Wouldn’t a clear Bic lighter be better that way you could see how much fluid is left in it
I can tell by shaking
Or, if it would fit, a clipper lighter (refillable with replaceable spark wheel and “flint”).
Hold the flashlight up the bottom of the lighter. Doesn't work too well with black lighters, but other than that, you can usually see it.
I'll start by saying I am in no way, shape, or form, knocking this kit or idea. As an avid hunter, I like the idea of this kit. Here's a few issues to pass along to him. The items in here are very simple & and basic, and at the price point of $20 and most likely additional shipping charges, I can make it for much less. I have a hunting club we mainly hunt on out of box blinds so this kit would essentially be useless for us, HOWEVER when we take our yearly trip to the mountains and hike in 3 miles, set up camp, and hunt from it this kit would be HIGHLY useful. I get little trinkets for the guys every year for the trip, but for $80 plus shipping for 4 of these for just the basic kit, it's not a good selling point.
Again, I'm not knocking it. I love the idea of it. But at the price point, it's just not something that will sell. This is just my two cents on it, so take it for what it's worth and pass it on to him. I hope he can find a good balance point to sell them.
It's selling my friend $20 isn't much these days and the pouch set up makes it better than most. My opinion
Sir I do appreciate your 2 cents. The canvas pouch pouch is sprayed with scotch guard to help make it water repellent. This pouch only is a $4 value at cost. We had the work inspected by the professional who was going to make these for us before he got a huge back log and good not fulfill our orders. The other items were all tested as we. $20 is very inexpensive for safety. Our family friend may not of had 2 months in the hospital had he had this kit. I believe our shipping is only $2 for a pouch. At which I am actually losing money. But to possibly save a life! Well worth it. Thank you for your view and ideas. There is my 2 cents not trying to sound nasty. Because I truly am not. I love feed back. It makes us better!
@krishoogstraat6866 no offense taken brother. Also wasn't trying to offend or talk down on it. Just giving some honest feed back from someone who actively hunts and likes these types of things. Best of luck to you
@@fishingthe910 thanks bro !
