I’m not a religious man by any means but there is no doubt that Eric Liddell was a genuinely good man who represents the absolute best parts of Christianity.

Superb Ian Charleston; acting beyond words with an uncanny representation of Eric Liddell's unconventional, unique, God-inspired and ultimately supreme, running style
This is actually not the Christian message, because the Christian message is that in and of ourselves we can do nothing (John 15:5). We were born sinners and will die sinners, but there is forgiveness and grace in the Lord Jesus Christ and if we will but come to Him we will find life, and live everlasting.
Alex Jackson Well that’s the worst and saddest quote ever😂 God gave us gifts that we must use. He loves us and wants the best for us we just gotta be good people be the version of yourself. Thank god by respecting yourself telling yourself your worth it everyone is worth and deserves to be listened to and be given love. God made us and supports us for a reason he wants the best for us he wants us all to be a family who loves eachother and ourselves. Jesus washed the feet of his followers he showed that the relationship is two sided. God respects us no matter what that means something we might not respect him cause we’re human but he still loves us and sees us as someone special who can accomplish so much in the world he created. We are meant to spread joy and we get something from that we get a choice too.

We can only finish our race because Jesus promises that every one of His sheep will "make it." We remain trusting in Christ Jesus, through His gifts, delivered via His physical delivery systems (bread, wine, water, and the Word), via God the Holy Spirit. This is why you should go back to church, preferably a sacramental one: to receive His trust-strengthening gifts; where you can actually taste His forgiveness promissed to those who confess and forsake their sins; where you can be washed in water mixed with the Word; where you hear God's Words in songs, in readings, and in orthodox, Christian preaching and teaching. The Germans use the term "Gottesdienst", meaning God's divine service to us, and not just us praising and worshipping Him. Great movie, except for the fact that they barely mention "Christ" or "Jesus", and it never mentions that Jesus (the Christ) suffered and died as payment for everyone's sins, and then physically rose again, after being buried in a sealed and guarded tomb for three days, proving He can defeat anyone's death, including His own. A very religious, pro-Christian movie, about a very devout and talented servant of God, but practically Christ-less and totally Gospel-less, however. Feeling either sad that you can't do "Christianity", or mad, that you got duped into trying? Watch this; it will explain why: 1517.org/1517blog/rodrosenbladt/the-gospel-for-those-broken-by-the-church
Christless and Gospeless? Considering that it's not a Christian movie to begin with - unlike the desperate "God's Not Dead" series - the scenes with Liddell are remarkable. There is a clear message in favor of Christianity - sorry if it wasn't the overused and overrated John 3:16! (We see/hear it so much, it's almost meaningless.) The scene where Scholtz hands Liddell the message about "He who honors Me, I shall honor" - and then Liddell turns around and kills in a race he wasn't expected to win - with the voiceover about from where the power comes? Stunning!
