I like to imagine that Leda was conceived during this conversation: “We have most of the DLC characters fleshed out, but they need a leader!” “Need a leader… Needle Leda… I’ve got it!”
I find it interesting that Leda was aware of the charm, I think she was thankfull for it. She thought if Miquella's charm could help her to become a better person (even tho temporarily) it could help the whole world.
Choosing to side with either Hornsent or Leda in the beginning was actually a tough choice. Not so much when she set her eyes on Ansbach, though. Ansbach is a bro.
I wanted to bring up that there's a strong probability that Leda was a Tarnished herself, as the Leda's Rune item states that Miquella's unalloyed gold brought a soft glow to her "faded eyes". Oddly, the item seems to imply that she never really used/embraced it. Also I think Miquella the Unalloyed is a WAY cooler moniker than Miquella the Kind.
I saw someones comment that said “kind” in German is “kid” or “child” or something. Of course considering miquellas curse, the name “kind” makes sense on multiple levels 😁
When it comes to our first meeting with Leda I feel like it was an extreme fooley of miscommunication. My personal logic is that Leda wasn't there to encourage folks to go to Miquella, Miquella sent her to kill Mohg and bring back his body. When she arrives, we have already killed Mohg and this is why she thinks we were answering Miquella's call/request. She sends us ahead and, for whatever our individual reason, we play along. Based on her personality, I think she sent us ahead so she could bring back Mohg's corpse alone and take all the credit.
I always imagine the tarnished of no renown being someone who trust others easily and is hurt by the betrayals but is also someone who understands if you explain why your betraying him, you just do it? he hates you, you explain why? ok understandable so I imagine he looked leda in the eyes, saw a kindred spirit and followed along that and hoping from all he heard he could get one on demigod on his side but that was not to be
Nobody: Absolutely nobody: FromSoft: Makes one of the most beautiful Faces in Souls and hides her behind a helmet Love Needle Leda. My fav NPC in the DLC
I like the different ways in which many characters interpret Miquella’s charm, It isn’t just plain black and white. Most of them see it as more of an extension of Miquella’s aura/presence, rather than directly “mind control.” - Leda becomes almost unchanged as a result of breaking from Miquella’s charm. in fact, the charm inhibited Leda’s innate chaotic intentions - freyja is pretty much unchanged breaking from the charm. Her loyalty to Miquella was before she was charmed, when miquella saved her life. - the Hornsent NPC grows a little weary from being freed from the charm. More cautious. Yet, has faith Miquella would still yet deliver divinity to his clan as promised. Obviously, we find out that the reason why he was charmed is because his lust for revenge would inevitably turn him towards Marika’s bloodline (I.e Miquell) despite their deal. - Ansbach was directly a victim of Miquella. He was personally insulted and attacked after what Miquella did to his Lord. As such, the charm was much more aggressive in this instance. Breaking free from it made him revert to his initial biases - that Miquella ruined his Lord’s dignity. - Moore remains unchanged. He loses purpose, abandoned by his mother. So Miquella breaking the charm broke Moore’s chance to have a parental figure, someone who he could look up to. - Dane is the most Loyal of Miquella’s fellowship. Unlike Leda, Dane fully and purely remains unchanged, whereas Leda become more dangerous and chaotic - which probably concerned Miquella. Dane likely knew about the charming too. - Thiollier’s unshackling results in him finding his “true” path. He doesn’t even dislike Miquella when he becomes uncharmed, just confused. It isn’t until he embarks on a journey to St. Trina where he finds the truth in the implications of what Miquella’s doing
Leda was by Mogh’s palace because she was ordered to kill him, but she was too scared and weak to do so. Then we kill Mogh and she shows up speaking boldly as if it were all part of the plan 😂
One would assume, that Malenia herself could do the job. She slept a long time, but when the tarnished faces her, she regained her energy. Miquella could send her on a mission to finish off Radahn and then kill Mohg, even if Malenia dies in the process. Why doesn't he?
@@kyte5648could’ve been the plan, but remember: Radahn fought her to a draw… She had to be dragged away from that battle by Cleanrot Knight Finlay, who carried her all the way back to the Haligtree in the North.
@@The.Nasty. Well yeah, at that moment Malenia became unconcious. But Radahn also got weaker, so why not go for a round two later? Waiting inside the haligtree seems to make little sense.
@@kyte5648 I always assumed we reach her before she’s gotten enough energy for round 2 with Radahn and/or Mohg. She doesn’t seem like the type to sit on her hands while those two still live.
@@The.Nasty. That's a good theory, since Malenia is even ready to risk losing her life for Miquella's plans. Which in my theory would happen. The unavoidable Nihil ritual would bleed her to death, but with her dying breath Malenia inflicts Mohg with scarlet rot and kills him.
Your video made me wonder if the incident with the needle Knights may have been one of the things that shaped miquella's views. He watched absolute devotion destroy his loyal knights.
In regards to summoning Leda for help with Rellana... Make sure to consider your build before you do it. If you impose status effects on the enemy in any way (both build-status and things like Black Flame or the Moon Sorceries), you'll probably want to avoid bringing her. Her weapon's Needle Piercer skill negates all status effects - both positive and negative - if even a single one of its needles hits home. And she's very fond of _spamming_ it, even (or perhaps _especially)_ when it's counterproductive.
@@trashmagics Probably not. Her spamming of it continues even when you're not using debuffs on Rellana (as I discovered when I switched to using Comet). Though she does seem even quicker to use it when you're using Glintstone Icecrag or Ranni's Dark Moon. It could be that it's just an oversight, with her only having one AI setup that's coded for your later encounters with her, when she's fighting _you,_ who is far more likely to have some sort of buffing status effect running. (Though the fact that she also fights you when you might be Rotted by Moore still makes it a bit odd.)
I can’t believe no one has brought this up and I haven’t seen a single person say since the DLC release. But Leda is SO Farnese coded from Berserk. They’re so similar, even to that braided hair cut.
6:44 I disagree that St Trina isn’t loyal to Miquella, she’s just not loyal the way Leda expects. St Trina very much is loyal to Miquella above all else. She asks you to kill him, not because of the harm he has or will cause, but because ‘godhood would be Miquella’s prison’. She wants you to kill him to stop him from being hurt. She is willing to sacrifice herself for his benefit. Because she sees his death as a better alternative to what godhood would do to him. Her reasoning is all about Miquella, nothing else.
I know your already in shadow of the erdtree content but I'd honestly like to see something on the jellyfish spirit ash quest if there's any worthwhile lore it would be interesting to see
Am I the only one who keeps seeing ties between Miquella and the Gloam-eyed Queen? In this case, the needle motif of the weapons of followers of both (godskin stitcher), and the opposition to gods (driving out outer gods for miquella, and being literal god-killers for the GEQ followers). Add in the goo-horse near St. Trina, the purple color similarities, and others, and the connections keep adding up to something.
This video is awesome. Loved seeing the dialogue and what you get for betraying Sir Ansbach…since I haven’t done it and will not do it. Fuck Hornsent though. He got a pass on my first playthrough but he catches it every single time now.
Knowing what we know thus far about needle knight Leda, I wouldn't be surprised if Miquilla would have kept her around to help achieve his goals, only to cast her away when they have been achieved. If she managed to thwart our tarnished, due to her trust issues and murderous intent, it was only a matter of time before she turned her blade on the others to prove her devotion to Miquilla. Miquilla would recognize this and would inevitably try to eliminate Leda out of fear that she might turn on him if he failed to live up to her expectations. In any case, whether she came to the realization that he wasn't truly the kindly Miquilla she had come to worship or driven by the betrayal of him trying to get rid of her, it was only a matter of time before she turned her blade on him in the end.
You def should finish man, it’s so good. Was my first soulsborn game and now I’m on my 3rd playthrough. 😂 My advice: keep it slow and enjoy the adventure, if you need a break from the game take one. 🙏🏼
Before watching: Leda is a fanatic, who follows a monster blinded by her admiration for someone that uses people like mortals use tools.. After watching: unchanged but I didn't know about the cull of the needle knights, was it ordered by miqullia? It seems very odd, he has the power to charm others but has disorder in his own order, the way miqullia views his charm too. doesn't fit, it's more like a contract, a vow to ensure there will be no betrayal, perhaps the cull is what changed miqullia the kind, into miqullia the monster.
@theenderdestruction2362 it's just that Leda can only become part of miqullia's order after the shattering is in full swing.... I was assuming that miqullia was already using his charm on people at this point .... at least in a "you want to work for me? Then take a vow and I will charm you" kinda sense, vs what miqullia did to mohg, involuntary charming him.... the cull either suggests that it was at the behest of miqullia, this begs the question why would miqulia order the death of his own people.... perhaps to prevent him from "being saved from mogh" or that even after the shattering is winding down miqullia still hasn't charmed any of his "allies"
@Duransurik miquella order? The needle knights were most likely apart of miquellas knights, every demi pretty much had/has em, so leda probably came before the shattering we dont know when the order began nor its end only that leda killed em all and you must remember miquellas not dumb he wouldn't cull his knights without reason cause if you do that you lose strength and so he wouldn't do it to begin with, it was probably ledas calling rsther then his
@theenderdestruction2362 Leda's lore states that, she was saved by miqullia after the scarlet aeonia transformed Caelid, i thought at least, that would place the cull at the very end of the shattering at the earliest
@Duransurik i dont think it's ever stated she was saved. Hell, from memory leda lore never states when or where she came into his service. Are you thinking of the female radahn soldier? That one defiantly came from the shattering, and we dont exactly know when the "bloom" happened. It could have happened at the tales end of the shattering, or it could have happened at the beginning of it or even the middle though leda herself wasnt even stated to be saved from rot that would be the radahn soldier who was heavily scarred by the scarlet rot only for miquella to save her
Overall I'm glad we get to take Leda out. She's too much of a Miquella sycophant and I trust Mr. Age of Compassion about as much as Leda trusts others.
Miquella - "i will great a kinder, gentler world." Also Miquella - "i cast off my love." Leda - "Good, no place for love in a world i live in. Only blind fanatical devotion without question."
