    Is this a high school class? The answers to the questions are often, how do I say this nicely, sub university standard. Not knowing what pantheism is? ...

      This is likely a university class. University students in North America don't know the things students once knew, but this prof is patiently filling them in. I so admire him for taking them as he finds them and bringing them forward respectfully, and without judgment!

      He's reading from act 1 of Goethe's Faust. It's in my Norton's Anthology of world literature. But only that part.

    for future reference! Goethe is pronounced more like "Guhr-tuh" but thank you for this lecture!!

      My german prof, from Hannover Germany, pronounces it like he does so his is fine
