  • Class discussion of Aime Cesaire's 'Notebook of a Return to the Native Land' and its context within French colonial literature and the Negritude movement. The camera was zoomed in a little bit too close at the beginning of the class, and I wasn't entirely comfortable reading certain parts of the poem aloud.

Thank you for this posting! Do not be thrown off by the moniker :). I teach body guards and bouncers and my channel reflects that . I was given my first book on existentialism by my mother (who was black as am I). I took a break from my work and saw your post. Not surprised that you did not have much activity. I thank you sir and will be checking out your other posts as time permits.

In my opinion, Aimé Césaire was an interesting and intelligent individual who helped spread Black awareness around the world 🌎.

It's good that he acknowledged the offensiveness of the n word.

My only wish is that you had provided indicators of where you are in the book.
