    Had very good results with the MIG oil brushers. I don't normally paint white armour, but have had good results with the blues on the white Imperial seal the feathers and recesses for Blood Angels.
    I specifically use starship filth in the intakes/recesses jn gold armour and most vehicles. Some need more contrast and prefer black. Overall very happy with the MIG oil line of products. So many colours!

    That's a super good looking white that is super easy. Perfect for that pesky Apothecary model.
    And those oil brushes are super interesting. Need to see if my local hobby stores stock that stuff. Might just make using oils really accessible.

    YESSSSSSSS Thank you that looks amazing
    Honestly, I was having a little doubt "Isn't that little too brown-ish?" when it was 1:1:2 stage, but I guess adding wash and other colors like red, black and etc (at the end showcase) make a lot of diffrence.
    Looking forward for more 3-steps colors

    Hi Juan ive been battling 6mm white scars for months and eventually settled on a similar method - zenithal highliggt with airbrush top.white highlights with brush and, yes, even at that scale.... oil wash

  • @DaThingOnTheDoorstep
    @DaThingOnTheDoorstep 14 годин тому

    Damn that's a crispy white! Been thinking of doing some White Scars at some point, didn't think of panel lining with oil. I like the brown shade too, gives a more grungy appearance than a black or grey would.

  • @DavidVanCleef

    Gunze and Gaianotes both sell a special tool for cleaning up enamel/oil washes. The product names are Mr Cleaning Stick and Finish Master respectively. They work extremely well (won't transfer fibre like cotton swabs) and are worth having despite how simple they are.

  • @Doombastico
    @Doombastico 6 годин тому

    Already have a good recipe for White Scars for myself, but I think I might take some lessons learned here! Especially the xpress colors. I have wanted to try oils for a good while, so I really need to give that a go. If anything because my two-step recess shading takes quite a while for my liking, so I'd love to see if I can shorten that with some of these steps.

    You are right about Pro Acryl despite having one of the best Whites. This is because most of their paints dry very matte which creates a textured surface. This impedes the flow of contrast type paints. However, recently they started releasing new paints that dry with a Satin finish. They released an alternate version of Bold Titanium White called Heavy Bold Titanium White and right under the label it says Satin and it's great for dry brushing. They also did a 2nd Heavy Satin paint called Heavy Warm White which is also Satin.
    They also have a few rare Gloss paints.
    If you dont see Satin or Gloss under the label it will dry matte, and they are very hydrophobic on the wet allette.
    Also, I was just hoping you would do a video like this with Mummy White to see if it could work for Deathwing. Perfect timing!

    • @JuanHidalgoMiniatures
      @JuanHidalgoMiniatures  10 годин тому +1

      Thanks!! I actually have that paint so I'm going to test it

    • @chrisbeau76
      @chrisbeau76 9 годин тому

      @@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Fantastic! I just remembreed they also released a Satin version of thier Black.
      Some of my favorite colors are Dark Sea Ben(Incubi Darkness), Green Oxide(Sybarite Green), Dark Emerald (sort of like Kabalite?)and a paint that is literally called Bone.
      It looks nothing like Ivory. Its hard to describe... It looks like a Warm greyish beige? and I love it!

    • @JuanHidalgoMiniatures

    Amazing tutorial! I use Monument's Pro-Acryl Titanium White and I haven't noticed any adverse effects with my Army Painter Speed Paints. I'd love to know what issues people are having with it.
    Also, where did you get your bases with the bolter shells on the ground?

    • @JuanHidalgoMiniatures
