I would have never even considered doing any of this, what a brilliant idea! They came out so much better than I expected too, great video and great ideas!
I am new to the miniature hobby and you have become my favorite hobby channel over the past few months. The way you approach this hobby seems really healthy and thanks to you i have been colleting sprues and cut off all of the nibbly and nobbly bitz! I am excited to turn them into something creative. thank you for your videos!
oh.. my... god. the spikes and shavings for wood. cant believe someone asked if it is worth the time. i will do that from now on as well. this is the best video!
It occurs to me, looking at those sprue shavings with metallics painted on, that you could try glueing them onto the bodies of miniatures. Bending them to conform to surfaces, until the plastic cement bonds them. Use it as a kind of rough armor plating. Especially if you trim the shavings a bit beforehand, to get the shape of the plates right. Layer them over each other, to hide the rough edges and make them look like layered armor plates. Good for scrap scavengers, or for medieval-izing models from other milieus, or differentiating individual models from their fellows ("see, THIS zombie's different from the rest of the horde, cause he's got an armored shoulder pad"). Damn, now I kind of want to try this sometime.
Love how much fun you have with these! I started a treeman with sprues but ended up finishing with green stuff so I cheated. Can't wait for the spruebots!
This is brilliant I love the Blue Peter vibes of this video. My favourite base was the one made from the sprue discs that you painted purple as it made me think of an alien version of a volcanjc rock formation like Giants Causeway.
3:53 I'm with you there. I cop it a bit because it'll take me a week to get a single space marine painted to a show quality. To me, it's a hobby I do for the joy of it. So I just don't see the point of rushing the job and getting an ok model, when I can make each a labour of love, and have an army that looks absolutely incredible.
Amazing video with tons of great information! Your excitement and joy for the hobby is contagious in the best way possible and I can’t lie the sprue burger is brilliant! Can’t wait to see your spruebots!
There are some particular sets of spru, that the moment you clean the up, create the perfect skeleton for a gangway system. Once I covered them in door off cuts. It looked incredible.
my favorite thong I've used sprues for was to make legs for the character I made out of the last boy body in the old ork kit, as I didnt need an extra boy, and in 8th or whatever edition I think you could justify bringing assassins with orks so I made a cheeky Ork Sniper, who was a literal ork sniper. Rip as he's in a tub in a barn 3000 miles away from me 😢
I DO have tons of sprues and over 7K of Orks. I have been stagnated on how to base them all into one theme as I can't find a quick/easy base theme to mass produce. But after this, "I'ze gotz a plan Boyz!"
I just got done recreating the entirety of the new KillTeam Edition (terrain) out of leftover sprues and 2mm cork sheets. I was fortunate that my local warhammer store allowed me to take measurements of the offical terrain they had built up for store purposes. Cost me about 17 bucks
I am watching your videos, super nice and subscribed! One thing that came to mind... I have those glass texture rollers for bases, a dozen perhaps. I have been 3D printing bases for a while and they are not used anymore, but would they work with SprueGloo plates? Anybody tried those? Would glass stock to the spruegloo when in that state of drying?
I still love the Sprue Burger. You really need to build some sprue fries and a sprue milkshake. Or maybe a McOrky's, which is where they are sold. Out of sprues, of course!
Oh im going to use all of this. With basing is not about the fastest way to do it, its about creativity and having fun. If you dont care about basing, you can always buy 3d printed terrain bases, in the same way you could buy already painted models, but where is the hobby there? i find basing very entertaining and more creative than painting the minis (wich i also love ).
I used them long for triyng wetblending edge highlighting or painting nonetallic netal colours shadeing and stuff like this ad even give them knicks cut outs and stuff to refine mytold techniks i used to do with them to not ruining my miniatures
Yup as a kid is was bad so the only subjects I was good at was art, graphic communication and design technology, so basicly subjects where you draw or make things lol 🙂
Spruecrons coming very soon, just waiting for a delivery to finish them off 🙂
looking forward to it, could you do a spruecron sniper and a sprucron leader with powersprue weapon? 🦾🙏🦾
Thank you. From this video I have a base for my custody army
@@BaneMoe awesome 🙂

I feel like the technique would work perfect for ork armies!
That does sound good and I might nick that idea and do it in another video, cheers 🙂
Geez thanks. Because of you I will never throw anything away again. My wife is going to love you for it. 😂😂😂😂😂. Great video.
"Honey, please. It's not hoarding. It's recycling! You don't want more microplastics in the ocean, do you?"
Haha, yup we are saving the world by recycling 🙂

Thank you so much, this channel is all about me having fun and escaping the real world lol 🙂
Tried my hand at the circle sprues and I have to say I like the look of the base. Just need something to add to it.
You deserve more views mate!
I agree lol, please share where possible 🙂
The exact video i needed. This is amazing
There are some particular sets of spru, that the moment you clean the up, create the perfect skeleton for a gangway system. Once I covered them in door off cuts. It looked incredible.
Best use for sprues is to make frames, nice and simple and then you can attach cardboard to make cheap walls 🙂
This is actually very simple but very clever, the crystal one looks great
Cheers, yup I do love keeping things simple 🙂

Awesome, sprues are great for making frames/supports etc 🙂
@ It was great fun. I‘m in it for the creative side primarily and that was such an enjoyable experience
Every time I see sprues I can't help but think of terrain like metal cages and doors.... cobblestones is a good one.
Check out my old videos for tonnes more ideas 🙂
Whats that tool you use that looks like a chisel? I can’t find them anywhere around me.

Yeah do it 🙂
Are these painted bases just for demonstration, or can you then glue models to painted bases?

Me too and there is a video of me making the fries 🙂
Pretty cool creations
Thank you 🙂
great thank you!
Thank you for watching 🙂
a good base material for all the seasons / flavors.
Indeed 🙂
what grass do you use?
Its a combination of 4 types but not sure what as Ive had it for about 2 years lol 🙂
Sprukrons!!!!
coming soon 🙂
When you're trying to do a thin line, water your paint down some and then Wick it out of a paper towel.
