Abhishek and hrithik were launched the same year. There was huge buzz over abi's launch and the buzz around knph was less, but gained huge buzz when the songs became a craze and people saw hrithik's charm, looks and his dance. i think hrithiks acting has been mediocre at most. Hated War, didn't like the ending and once you know the ending the whole move seemed unrealistic. Not going to watch War 2, after the mess that was Parthan and Tiger 3.
I have to agree. What people don't understand is Hritik was GROOMED SINCE HIS CHILDHOOD to become an actor. SRK, Manoj, Akshay came into industry, very lean thin, without the wealth and facilities that Hrx had.@@vicchandra5953
People just blindsided themselves with the fact of him being a starkid. Always being compared with his father when he never tried to replicate that aura. That burden failed him, that pressure failed him, the audience failed him.
I think what really hurt him was the debut and stardom of hrithik Roshan. Hrithik blew any chance of abhishek becoming a large star. Hrithik was his contemporary and more suited for superstardom. What did not help was the fact that Hrithik could also act and was a more complete package. AB Jr should have taken a page out of Aamir khan and focused on alternative cinema and performance packed roles. He needs to just focus on the actor aspect and not care about box office.
You just can't beat Big B. He's 80 something and I'm still excited to see him in Kalki! Abhishek is a great actor and he doesn't have to live in the shadows of anyone, he'll make his own way. I wish him the best in that journey.
Abhishek Bachchan is not the superstar type actor of blockbuster movies , he's more of a character actor and should have stuck with offbeat or artsy films only where he would have made a decent career. Chasing the stereotypical Bollywood hero relentlessly, costed him his career.
I sort of agree with you. however, I have to say that compared to other star kids I like how he is very careful with his choices and how hard he's been trying to create his own place in the industry. I also think he's well aware of the pressure yet he's doing his best. The only problem here is that there are only a few directors who explore his true potential so well. For instance; Mani Ratnam. I remember Abhishek Bachchan saying this on the trailer launch of Raavana ' Mani Ratnam launches me repeatedly'.

On screen he may not be too versatile & apt for a certain type of roles like Sarkar, Yuva, Guru etc. But off screen, looking at his social media interactions, he is one of most matured person in entire film industry & hence deserve all the respect
Agreed. Abhishek, apart from Yuva, Bunty aur Babli, Guru, Ludo (maybe I am missing a few others), has not consistently played a convincing character as far as I am concerned. In most of his attempts it feels like he is "acting" (trying hard) and NOT getting a true moment in front of the film camera as the character (as he gets during his interviews where he is himself..Abhishek playing himself is convincing).
@@kauchand Yeah, trying hard. From my observation of his movies, he is camera conscious. It's like he is never immersed in a scene completely. It's like he can't forget he is his father's son and his wife's husband. It interrupts his acting.

Abhishek has grown into his craft. He was never main character (as in commercial hero) energy. But over the years he has been solid and found his own following outside the identity of his father. He did possess talent from the onset unlike the latest onslaught of children of stars and superstars. Abhishek also possesses a wealth of knowledge about filmmaking across Indian languages and I feel he is quite a cinephile. I am glad you picked up this topic. I want to highlight that in MPKDH with Hrithik and Kareena , Abhi was the only one who was tolerable. He excelled in capers like Bluffmaster, Bunty aur Babli and Dus and lets not forget Refugee. Refugee showed us Kareena Kapoor as a force (something I feel she rarely touches in modern age) but Abhi was perhaps hard done by expectations of his dad, and the unprecedented legendary debut of Hrithik Roshan. He has also proven his chops in Guru, Sarkar, Paa and YUva and so many more. And when compared to his peers he is miles ahead - his choices in the past 5 years is pure quality. Abhi is a character actor and I would love to see him and Shahid Kapoor in a movie together.
Guess 2005 was the year for Abhishek. Doing great films like Bluffmaster, Bunty aur Babli and Sarkar showed his range as an actor. And maybe his peak in Hindi films

In the 1980's 2 starsons came out of their father's larger-than-life shadows Sunny Deol and Sanjay Dutt. Sunny Deol proved in 1980's and 1990's that he is a bankable star like Dharmendra was in his heydays. Similarly, Sanjay Dutt too garnered a massive popularity in the late 1980s and 1990's and gracefully took the legacy of Sunil Dutt and Nargis to new heights. His brother-in-law Kumar Gaurav disastrous projects after his debut film, forced him to exit from the Hindi Film Industry.
Abhishek has always been a mystery for me. We see him in all those movies you mentioned early in the video, and then he keeps surprising us periodically by Sarkar, Yuva, Guru, just prevents us from making a perception for him.
Abhishek was absolutely electrifying in Dhoom back in 2004. Without his stellar turn as the suave yet forthright ACP of Mumbai Police, the series wouldn't have become what it did. The face-off between him and John really worked and turned the film into my favourite of the franchise. Of his latest works, loved him in Ludo.
Abhishek's performance in Ludo was superb IMHO. He held on his own in a film with ensemble cast. Especially the scene where he tries his best to get his daughter's attention and breaks down when he fails in doing that. Sad to see his downfall, when it appeared that sky was the limit after his performance in Guru.
So happy for Ranbir Kapoor. Never bothered about his dad's shadow or legacy. Made his own path and now considered one of the best of his generation. Always wish him well.

Thanks a lot for this video! Abhishek is one of my favorites in the industry and it is not highlighted enough how underated this gem of an actor is. This was overdue. BTW, I think you missed his commercial success stints - Dus and Bluffmaster - both had him in a pretty suave role for the urban audience. Oh, and Raavan - although the reviews of this movie is pretty divisive - I personally love his madness-driven acting here! And also, a little more low-key - Paa - although it belongs to papa-Bachchan, his sincere portrayal of a new-age politician was solid. And with his next being Shoojit Sircar's next movie - I am very happy that the actor is getting to do the roles that matter with his recent shift of role choices, even if they are not commerically viable.
But it's amazing how every generation of the Kapoor family leads the industry. Not everyone, but the Kapoors always have someone from their bloodline who excels in the industry, especially in terms of acting. They are born to act. What is your opinion on this ?
@SachiDias Prithviraj Kapoor was a theater thespian, not a movie superstar. He was a very respected and successful actor in the movies also.. but Raj Kapoor took that legacy to another level altogether. Post independence cinema was defined by Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, and Dev Anand. The trio ruled the 50s and the 60s.. Raj Kapoor was one step ahead and was a filmmaker, writer, and an actor!
You forgot to mention his acting skills in ,,breathe,,he is an awesome actor.have loved, admired ,adored him since refugee days..he has a lot of potential and the fact that he wants to make his own space ,and not takeover his fathers makes him unique, love u bro,
Sunny was wise enough to pick roles that suited him. His forte was action with the occasional dramatic characters. He didn't try to be the boy next door like his brother Bobby did often in his career
He might not be so great hero..but a very good actor..the way he polished himself is wonderful..every actor has their phases so does he..but he had proven his talent😊
Abhishek Bachchan is very underrated actor. And very underrated comedian too in my opinion. His comic timing is brilliant in some of his movies like Happy New year, Bol Bachchan, Dostana (my opinion only)
Dostana I loved his presence, Happy new year role felt bit caricaturish, but his performance was entertaining, He can do comedy very well, just needs a good direction and story,he can do wonders.
Abhishek Bachan is appreciated by those who truly care about the performance and not the lineage, and he has a certain mature quality to him that's really appealing and praiseworthy. Leaving all this aside, i hope he is in a nice mental space in his life because we don't realise the sheer burden on someone like him who will always remain in the shadow of perhaps the greatest actor ever
The more I watched your video the more I remembered that Abhishek has done more solid work than most of the actors of the past 15 -20 years. Jammy are you up for a re-watch for a Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya. The music is still perfection. And a comparison review of Ravaan and Raavana from Mani Sir. Hey Jammy want your take on the upcoming release "Kinds of Kindnesses " directed by Yorgos Lanthimos (hope it is having a theatrical release in India ) because already got hooked by the movie's teaser, trailer cuts and even more excited for the humongous starcast.
I loved him in Sarkar , can’t imagine anytime else in that role.. he nailed it. Nobody hates him, i think it’s just his choice of movies. I really wish he shines and chooses right movies going forward. He is a really good actor
He has been a diligent actor ! But i feel he somehow got sidelined due to his stiff body language and he has been unncessarily compared to his father. He needs to keep on reinventing himself and prove again and again that hes here to stay! And he does lack commercial viablity as well though!
oh man, I was waiting for you to mention Bluffmaster !!! but there lies the problem...a true underrated gem of an actor who can be easily forgotten... destiny maybe...
We inherit blessings and curses also, not just wealth and health. And BigB has been notoriously ruining people's lives and careers, back in the days, intoxicated by pride.
Abhishek has had many limitations. Every successful actor has a standout USP - Ajay Devgan's acting overshadows his below-average looks, Akshay, Ranveer have a terrific range, Ranbir can act with his eyes, Hritik looks and dances like god, Sunny had his dialogue delivery, even the likes of Suniel Shetty had muscles to show off. Abhishek didn't have any standout feature in either of these departments (looks, acting, dancing, body), hence he could never excel. He could have at least worked on his acting/dancing/body, or experimented with his looks which he didn't do and his efforts always came across as lazy. What separates you a good to great actor is their performance even in a terrible film, in his case he did well when he had a good script, meaty role and a director at his disposal, but was miserable in others. At least he could have worked on his body - look at John Abraham and him in Dostana, or even DJ bobby - he looked miles out of place compared to the two. But good to see his career choices of late - he may not be able to churn 100 Cr blockbusters now with age catching up, but his recent movies will definitely give him respect as a sincere actor in the years to come.
Man I love Abhishek Bachchan I am fan of AB and always very excited for his new ventures . Kuch na kaho , Bas itna sa khwab he , Om Jai Jagdish are guilty pleasures of early 2000s very fond of those movies . And best performance in my opinion are Guru and Sarkar Dramatic roles are his forte . Hope your video will spread more love for Abhishek
I have loved Abhishek in many of his films.. To name one of the recent ones, I loved him in Manmarziyaan.. I was awestruck by his performance in Yuva. I loved Delhi 6 as a movie and he was good in it, but then again it was a multi-starrer and there was a great supporting cast. However, I feel he has not done a good job with choosing scripts , which is surprising because he comes from a legendary film family.
I can't thank him enough for his performance in Manmarziyaan. He was an absolute delight in the role. While the character wasn't particularly demanding or emotionally intense, I can't imagine anyone else playing it. If I close my eyes and try to envision another actor in that role, it simply doesn't work. He truly deserved this role and delivered it perfectly. In the same interview where this clip is from, Abhishek mentioned that after watching Manmarziyaan, Amitabh Bachchan, had tears in his eyes. I believe this role is highly underrated, and Abhishek did it complete justice.
Avishek Bacchan is a brilliant actor....his performance in YUWA was outstanding ..so was in Sarkaar and Ravaan....but he was not the typical "dancing god with flying kicks and abs" archtype
Raavan for me is one of his best. Also, love the movie. He was just on another level. Him, Aishwarya and Vikram, couldn't ask for better cast. Still don't understand why it bombed so badly. It's one of the first movies i showed my frnds in college and they all loved it and would watch again. Suprised this video even glimpse over it. Maybe I'm living in my own world.
@@kashutosh9132 I never thought of Abhishek as hero or Vikram as a villain in it. It's a story inspired by Ramayana. Was never portrayed as it is straight up Ramayanam like Adipurush did. @@KHP2601 I wouldn't have brought religion into it. But what one can do - the name of the film, promotion of the film, the events and characters all screamed of Ramayan. No problem if it had told the same story without having those names but it was marketed as ramayan adaptation of sorts.
Being a 90s kid. I have a special attachment with Abhishek bacchhan. For me Sarkar, Yuva, Guru are one his best performances. But one movie which you missed in this video of Abhishek and which I am absolute fan of is his "Bluffmaster". What a movie and what a performance from Abhishek apart from Nana Patekar(who I think rarely give any dull performances).
I really like Abhishek - both as an actor and his offscreen persona seems really sweet and chill. He's handled online trolls with more grace than others, and I feel like at this point people just needlessly bully him. He is not the best actor, but he definitely isn't bad, I think he shines in cute comedy too (Bol Bachchan , Happy New Year, Dostana, Dasvi) and he was quite good in Yuva and MPKDH. People may deny it, but Breathe brought it a lot more viewers because he was starring in it!
For every abhishekh bachchan, kumar Gaurav, Rajiv kapoor, Randhir kapoor there is a sunny deol,Rishi Kapoor, hrithik roshan and Ranbir Kapoor and above them all Raj Kapoor(Son of pruthviraj kapoor)😂
I don't find him good always but the Sarkar, B&B, Bluffmaster phase was terrific...perhaps he can be better when he opens up more in acting as well as speak English without that accent he never had in his early career.
Hypothetically if he would've debuted as an outsider then there would have been less pressure but first few years would have been make it or break it.... he wouldn't have got these many chances as non nepo kid. From 2010 to 2018 was very dull phase for him and any non nepo kid wouldn't have got ott chances.
You're very right. But Jayaji quit films soon after Sholay, so the newer generation doesn't have much context.. Amitabh, however, became a megastar around the same time when Jayaji quit.. and continues to enthrall everyone with his craft, till date. Jayaji is one of the greatest actresses of this country.. Koshish, Piya Ka Ghar, Mili, Guddi.. so many amazing performances! Thanks for calling her Jaya 'Bhaduri'.. that's the name we all remember in the titles of all those incredible films she did!
@shikhab2250 Jayaji has always been a big support for Amitabh ji. She did Zanjeer also because of him... Amitabh was going through a tough professional phase before that film. Zanjeer sold because of Jayaji's and Pran's names, who were established names.. and as soon as Zanjeer released, Amitabh became a superstar, and both Amit ji and Jaya ji got married. She also did Silsila because of Amitabh only.
The same thing has happened to Akshaye Khanna who has lived in Vinod Khanna's shadow....I think Sunny Deol, Kajol, Shahid Kapoor & Hrithik Roshan might be the only nepotism kids that have actually surpassed their parents!

his debut movie was refugee , how could have he got same craze from a movie about cross border illegal immigration pitted against romantic musical , it was always a mistake to go for mainstream cinema when your power is in inde cinema
i think hrithiks acting has been mediocre at most.
Well said
I respect him for never even attempting to replicate him. You're doomed to fail on that path
No one failed him. He just does not belong in the film industry.
Shut up, ur name is kareena. U dnt deserve to even hv an opinion😂@@Kareena1988
I think his performance in Bol Bachan is enough to prove him a good actor. AB really made me laugh in that film 🤣🤣🤣
In Dostana he was hillarious and Bluffmaster
I agree I loved him in there 😊
Abhishek is a brilliant actor . He just needs good stories
Abhishek Bachchan is not the superstar type actor of blockbuster movies , he's more of a character actor and should have stuck with offbeat or artsy films only where he would have made a decent career. Chasing the stereotypical Bollywood hero relentlessly, costed him his career.
I’ve always been a fan of abhishek bachchan I always thought he had his own style. Breathe into the shadows I think is his best performance.
Extremely underrated in Bollywood - but extremely talented artist. Jammy can you do a Podcast interview with him later ?

“100 Seconds, Mr. Pillai” - his dialogues from Om Jai Jagadish aged well
I sort of agree with you. however, I have to say that compared to other star kids I like how he is very careful with his choices and how hard he's been trying to create his own place in the industry.
Unpopular opinion : He was good at his Ott debuts like Breathe, Ludo, Dasvi even in Big Bull..... He is versatile (even in latest release Ghoomer), Imagine him as a relentless, brutal villian that gonna be a GameChanger for sure

But off screen, looking at his social media interactions, he is one of most matured person in entire film industry & hence deserve all the respect
I disagree, he is a versatile actor, showing different flavours in each of his movies.
In that case the respect should also go for Arjun Kapoor! He is annice guy.

I loved him in Guru, Bluffmaster and my most favourite in "Sarkar"
I always visit "main bhi yahi chahta hoon" scene in Sarkar

He acted really well in Sarkar and paa

Ranbir ?
Vinod Khanna was a star.. but not at the level of Amitabh.
bro... Sunny 🤔
Nope dharmendra remains the most successful deol@@SaurabhKumar-bz9kr
Not Ranbir .... He has kjo and pr to boost him up...now alia his wife...
He's the most underrated actor ...he's in a same league as Akshay Khanna. They both are one of the best actors in Indian cinema...yet they are under utilized.
