Definitely a talented actor .I think he was never really passionate about his film career..He probably was more interested in being an enterpreneur than an actor. Nevertheless, always found him very dignified and respectful throughout his career.. Sometimes people have tweeted nasty comments and he has always handled everything with a lot of grace..Must have taken a toll on him..Hope to see him in more films ...

I believe Abhishek is more of a small budget movie star which are more of a story based rather than a big budget action packed mirch masala movie. For those reasons he is still one of my favourite actor because I believe his acting is far more impactful and attention grabbing than most of the big superstars.

nah, there's one point which I agree with Abhishek it's not putting a weight to be a superstar. We have multiple big profile Hollywood actors too winning Oscars and giving one of the historic performances on films where they are not flaunting their physique. and at 53 what Abraham and Amir is doing is torturous to the body.

Yes outside of few films Abhishek didnt have success,but Guru was success because of story,good making and ABs acting. Maniratnam repeated him 3movies. Ofc he acted with good directors but were those scripts good? Dosthana was success just because of John's body and homosexual theme! Kuch bhi???? Matlab kuch bhi???? AB isn't a great dancer nd never tried to experiment with his looks etc also negative for him. His script selection was very poor like Akshaye Khanna. But don't just say crap as facts. I think one of Abhishek Bachchans' most successful and critical acclaimed film has to Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. It is one of his finest performances as well.
Being from that era when AB was launched I can easily say no one had any expectation or hopes from this guy after seeing his pictures in the magazines. In fact Kareena had more hype considering she left kaho na pyar hai and picked Refugee. It was only industry who kept hyping him and kept giving him roles for next 24 years. But that's what industry does with all nepo babies. Tushar, Uday, Sonam kept getting movies for almost 10-15 years. Even Kareena took 7 years to give one genuine hit as a solo lead in form of Jab we met. And in her later years she piggy backed in multistarrers.

Hi Shaan, I have two videos ideas for u:
1. A detailed video on why bollywood is not focusing on sci fi genre which can actually uplift bollywood movie industry. They are still making masala action, cringe comedy and almost 0% scary horror movies. They should now focus on sci fi genre a lot (specially space and time travel movies) which can make them loved globally and good writing will be appreciated by whole India as well as the world. JL50 and RaOne are good examples that Bollywood can make good sci fi series and movies.
2. Why many bollywood movies are just remakes of old bollywood, south indian and hollywood movies? We live in the most populated country which is surely filled with creative writers and they should be given chance so that we can have original scripts with new great storylines.

And also about why we can't have successful IPs of our own. In Hollywood, so many great directors have made compelling projects with characters like Batman, James Bond, etc and earning millions along with critical acclaim. While we don't have such characters who can attract masses and we can't see different directors experimenting with them and creating good movies which I think only Farhan Akhtar has done with Don and made him iconic among the new generation. Characters like Detective Byomkesh Bakshy, Don, Shaktimaan, Superheroes from Raj comics have this potential and new generation writers and directors should be given opportunities instead of restricting this to shit like Housefull.

I feel that if Abhishek is flawed like not respecting Aishwarya and cheating on her(Not justifying his cheating) but deep down it is his frustration that he was focusing more on class not on appeasing mass like his Paa, not everyone is a Mass Masala movie actor, nor everyone should be like their father. Mani Ratnam utilized the best out of Abhishek with films like Guru and Yuva, but Raavan's Tamil version was better with Vikram in the same role.

What I personally feel is that he has acted good ,but the shoes were big to fill in. We as Indian tend to compare a lot. The only thing that went wrong with him is wrong script selection. Few good scripts were Guru and Yuva. Dasvi was also good. But apart from that all his films had less than average story.

Finally, someone calling a spade a spade after more than 2 decades. I have been telling everyone that Abhisek does not belong in the movies, be it acting, looks or the attitude to become successful. If it wasn't for the fact that he is Amitabh's son, he wouldn't have gotten a chance to debut in the industry, let alone gifted 71 movies in a silver platter.

Abhishek Bachchan is an artist, not a star. He is more suited to content driven films or shows where the story takes priority over the actor. I agree that it was a mistake to market him as a star or hope that he would be famous like his father. I think he should focus his energy on doing projects he is actually interested in, not worry about what others are saying and give us good content. Doesn't have to be commercial masala films. Abhishek is a capable actor, and I think he will do good in OTT platforms because there are audiences who likes content with rich story and don't really care who the actors are.

In my opinion, the prime reason why actors with already successful parents do not make it big in bollywood mostly, is because they lack the hunger/willpower to work hard. They have already seen all of that from childhood and they get stuck in that comfort zone because they're served every opportunity in a platter, unlike the talent from outside the industry.

Yes he is not a very successful person but I personally feel he is a good actor, not as good as Amitabh but not that terrible either. He has good comic timing, I remember him more in Dostaana than John Abraham. He actually did a good job in Dasvi.

I think what you are forgetting is that I Want To Taalk is probably a low or mid-budget film. It would not need to earn 100 crores to be a hit. There is no number for a hit, it's how much you earn against your budget. It's the reason Kill is not a flop, because it's budget was small at 40 crores. 12th Fail had a low budget. I think Shoojit's film will also be in this league of low or mid-budget films.
Even in the dhoom series, all the three films, the show was stolen by the villains, John's performance in the first part is the perfect example of how a villain should be, abhishek got ignored, the second part, hrithik and Aishwarya stole the show with their chemistry, not to forget Hrithik's godly aura that he carried due to his looks, and romance, abhishek once again got sidelined. For the third part you cannot be the main guy when aamir khan is starring in that film, Aamir's acting variety, his villainous potrayal once again stole the show and abhishek as always got ignored. He had the best chance to establish himself as the hero and the main guy but due to his lack of acting skills could never achieve that
