@@leethehauscross better but its "Brake" lolol and not to nit pick but the rev down happens before the braking. you let the engine and trans slow the car down first by letting off the gas. then you apply the brakes.
It was great to follow the sound of the enginge. How much impact the air had on the sound. Every step of the way, there were changes in the sound. Got less airy, more doll. Still screamed at the end! - Nice tune! Nice team, nice build. Nice time. 🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰
we didnt either. after the car leaves the start - all we have is the slow timing board with updated sector times. This was one of the longest 10 mins in our lives for sure. Then we had to wait more for the other guys to see if they beat our time.
What a morning. I’ve had coffee and completed Pikes Peak in 9mins 23 secs. Think it’s now time for breakfast as I’m exhausted after watching that run. Great work by all involved. Congrats to Robin Shute the British driver too. RIP Carlin Dunne
Incredible achievement. Thoroughly enjoyed the build videos, made watching this even sweeter, feeling like I know the car inside out. The custom milled wing supports and intercooler, the fuel pump system, the bored out block, the wiring harness ... and to see it screaming up the hill ... priceless. Thank you for taking us on the journey.
Nate F I thought for sure David Donohue in the GT3R was going to give him a run for his money. He was the old Time Attack 1 record holder and this year his car was in the open division because they twin turboed a GT3R. I don't quite understand how they were in different classes but regardless BBI was faster and broke his record.
What a run! Well done to Betim and the boys! It was an honor to see the run in person after following the series on here. The car looked like it worked perfectly and delighted the fans with louder than expected flat 6 turbo noise. Bittersweet day up there for the obvious reasons, but it makes me happy to see you guys throw this car together and set a time attack record.
By far the best first-person view of any race I have ever watched! The elevation gain is crazy and you can definitely hear the engine sound difference as it went higher in elevation. Great job guys.
During the second half of the video when we started to see some serious elevation, every time the car slid over to the lane that was next to the sheer cliff my stomach got butterflies. Even though I knew they finished, my heart was in my throat during some of those little bumps when the driver moved into the dirt. Excellent video, excellent series. Do more of these following a team building a car for a race.
Impressively fast. What an achievement to finish the car and then win your class! Congrats guys, the team must be stoked. Looking forward to a finished-build walk around and burnout!
Absolutely astounding well done b b i , the team, Raph Astier aka the new stig god and the hooligan for bringing this epic moment on video to the fans ,, an amazing moment in history caught for all to see ,, from Ron at 997 retrofit & custom on Facebook ..... outstanding chaps truly outstanding,, congratulations....
I don't think you understand what the term supercar means... this is a racecar, generally a supercar is not a race car or vice versa. You can in some instances take a suitable supercar and turn it into a racecar, but in the process you also lose most of its monetary value. And for Porsche, they make a few supercars sometimes but far more than 90% of Porsches are not supercars, like a 911 is not. It's a nice high performance sports car but that's it. Carrera GT, 918 and a few others are supercars.
Great job this year. Crazy build in short time....you killed it on race day. Sequential is so smooth in that car. That angle doesn't show how bumpy the top section is, breaking points are spot on. Congrats with 1st in TA1
1:42 THAT DIRT DROP, AT FULL THROTTLE, MID TURN, GOIN MACH SPEEDS, IN A REAR ENGINE PORSCHE Yo this man is a NUT and I loved every second of it. Bring him to the Burn Yard in a Porsche.
The amount of traction out of corners and the ability of that Porsche to put seemingly all of it’s power to the ground the entire way up was next level. Amazing achievement BBi. Congrats 🎈
I got to drive up Pike's peak on my 16th birthday with my dad and I was getting dizzy and lightheaded going the speed limit in a Chrysler Pacifica. I can't even imagine having to remember every turn and go up as fast as you can.
That was a damn good run! I'd say it was perfect, but nothing is, so... It was just about as clean as you can run that mountain. Damn fine job! Congratulations!!!
Smooth as silk. Some I've seen are real jerky, you think they'd be avoiding squirrels on the road XD All joking aside tho, mad props to those that ride it and even madder props to those that ride it hard.
I fucking love Pikes Peak! It's a dream of mine to just drive up it legally and the only time I was close to Pikes Peak I didn't have a car. But I can watch people race up that mountain all day!. The fact that these beasts at BBi got the invitation about a month in advance, built this car, and dominated the event with no malfunctions... Only working on it only in their spare time... FUCK YEAH!
BBI: Build racecar. Scotto: Where’s my PB Blaster? BBI: Race racecar. Scotto: Where is that wrench I bought at that swap meet? BBI: Breaks record. Scotto: Got this bolt out guys.
Finally i saw this last night and this was awesome. I guessed a 9:29 and I thought that was optimistic but i was so happy at a faster time and a 2nd overall. You guys are great. I loved the build videos and the explanations. The gas tank video was sick and I learned alot( though that mofo filming needed to stop interupting with his yea yea yea b.s.) though he was prolly excited which is cool as I wad as well. Just an awesome ride that was the greatest build along at the time. Great shop. Humble. And let the Porsche do the talking. I have had a few porsches and need a new one but BBI is my go to when i get a new one for mods. No b.s. guys. Very impressed make me want to ship em a 996 turbo and a check. All in due time. Though i am getting a new gt500 first these guys seem like no nonsense crew and make me think about a 5 year dicount on that gt500 and the 996 now. Anyway thanks hoonies for getting this out and thanks BBI for the very impressive outcome. Sick car. Sick driving. Sick results. The sun shines on these people! Let these people shine on you...
Midnight squad yeeeeeee Oppps wrong show. Congrats B.B.I for doing a full build and making it to the track and also making it from green to checkers in one piece..the topping of the cake is the records you set..HATS OFF TO YOU ALLLLL. Ps, Allllll of that above, faster then Bryan can tighten a bolt. :)
0:43 you can see me and my brother and some other spectators sitting on the right side of that snake bend. The sounds were just incredible, definitely made a great second trip to pikes peak for me!
Is it just me or is there anyone else that loves high power/performance cars driven so close to the limit, but has decided "hell no I would NOT like to try it myself"? Massive respect to the drivers pushing cars so hard up Pikes Peak.
Massive congrats to the team!! To build that car in such a short amount of time and break the record is astounding. Would be interested to see how it would go against the fastest Time Attack cars Down Under at W.T.A.C. in Sydney. FYi...the current record holder at that event is a Porsche derived 968 that is about 10 secs quicker than a Cup Car 1:19 vs 1:30.
For sale: one carbon front splitter, used once, lightly scuffed.
TheQuietOne75 thats what the scraping noise is
Lol I came to the comments for just this 😂😂
“Scuff pads, 80% used, would recommend getting new before use”
Comment of the week
It's just the audible braking indicator
The only thing I've seen gain elevation faster than that is Hert's hood
Hope this is going in comment of the week
i died of laugh reading this
Lowkey read it quick status as Hert's wood and thought boioioioiong xD
Hert cannot catch a break this week 😂
Hahaha!
Bbi built a Porsche and broke a record faster than scotto could get any more work done on his Audi #gettoworkscotto
Scotto is more like team Tajima than bbi. Wait 13 years for fresh asphalt and THEN send it. 😂 #gettoworkscotto
Lol you need to be Scotto's trainer so he can get back in to car rebuilding shape 😂😂😂 #gettoworkscotto
Nick Cazella the harshest burns are the ones that are true.
Scotto's motto make more shows to avoid working on audi

It was a very bittersweet day. We lost a legend. There was so much love and emotion from everyone
Agree, taken from this earth way to soon. Brillant rider and a really nice guy.
Shoulda uploaded the footage with GoPro’s telemetry info!
Was thinking along the same lines that a tachometer or speedometer in the corner would be nice. Awesome footage all the same.
I was thinking that. it would be interesting to know how many g's it was pulling up some of these turns and elevation changes .
I think a g's meter and speedometer would've been great.
For the hearing impared (Engine revs up, scrape scrape scraaaaaaaape, engine revs down)
Lee Cross other way around buddy
yea, the scrapes are during breaking.
rev up, rev down, scrape
So break, rev down, scrape, scrape scrrrrrrape, rev up?
@@leethehauscross better but its "Brake" lolol
and not to nit pick but the rev down happens before the braking. you let the engine and trans slow the car down first by letting off the gas. then you apply the brakes.
Lee Cross Nd if we really wanna get picky you didn’t include the downshifts🤣🤣 but I’m playin
Happy 4th yall
Hearing the sound of the front lip scraping is so visceral and so sick when he’s braking and coming to inclines!! HELL YEA!!
Because racecar.
So sick!!! Thanks Hoonigan, for everything you have done for us. Much love.
It was great to follow the sound of the enginge. How much impact the air had on the sound. Every step of the way, there were changes in the sound. Got less airy, more doll. Still screamed at the end!

I miss the dirt. Id give anything for this perspective of millens celica run.
LONG LIVE THE 10:04!
I'll be back in a sec for that higher res, also congrats
I didn't realize I could not breathe for almost 10 minutes. Absolutely incredible. AWESOME JOB BBI

Wow!! Super awesome!!! Very impressive guys and congratulations on setting a record right out the gate!
My ears are popping as i watch this!
My butt was clenching seat cushion the whole way...
...at my desk and now I have to go to the ER to have it removed.
Looks like that suspension was dialed in (and working overtime!) Nice work guys
Great Job covering BBI's build, first time out and they break a record, Congrats Guys & good job covering the build Hoonigan!
2nd overall!?!? WhAt NO FREAKIN'WAY! What skill, what a crunch. Feels like my fav team winning a championship!

Perspective of a dying bug is awesome!!!

Unbelievable! Congratulations guys. It was pretty great to watch it come together for you.

Nice work BBi and thanks Hoonigans for taking us along for the ride.
Omg Raph is smoother than a gravy sandwich, Hats off.
Wooooo! Incredible. Thanks for that ride. Even got a little adrenaline pumping from that!
Can't get over how much this screams for a turbo flat 6. Amazing car and amazing run.
Awesome to watch the whole process and see all that work pay off. Congratulations
Thank you so much for publishing this!!! I love it more than words can say.

Very nice edit. This is the best one since Ari Vatanens record breaking run. Great drive congrats on the record.
Such a gnarly course, view of nothing but sky at points
It’s pretty wicked to drive even at the posted speed limit
Jeremiah Stewart yeah I used to live in C. Springs been up it a couple times.
You can keep your Lambos and Ferraris etc..... Porsche is what a real supercar is all about on ALL FACETS..... Well Done guys 👍🙏👌

the way he / the car turns in sometimes, so direct and fast , like a f1 car. crazy
Best POV I’ve seen yet! I love seeing the mountain in the distance saying “come on up ....”.

Awesome and terrifying. Love the sound of a screaming Porsche.
Soooo lucky I got to see this fly by in person! Hope to see you next year!
Thank you for the uncut footage, OMG thank you!

Nothing like a nice relaxing 9:23.721 drive up a beautiful mountain.
