Greetings from Spain. All the videos you post are of great help. The engine of my Focus 1.5 EB was replaced under warranty, the second piston came off... There was a lot of oil in the intake manifold. Later a new instale manifold with drainage tube and a new pcv were installed, here in Europe it is possible to find these parts. Apparently the cause of sending so much oil is the turbocharger and from what I understand there are different references that have been modified, maybe they found the problem? 👍

I have a 2019 ford fusion 1.5L ecoboost. I just brought it back from the ford service department. They were adamant that I did not have an intercooler. I brought it in because it was making a loud noise as if mass air was leaking from somewhere. I discovered the bottom bolts to the intercooler you are showing was missing bolts and some excess oil around that general area. I replaced the bolts and the noise stopped, but could the excess oil be coming from there or is that a separate issue and I need to search for a leak elsewhere?

Great video, thanks. Our 1.5 had an issue in which when you floor it when the engine is hot after driving a couple of weeks like a normal person there is a load of soot coming out of the exhaust just like an old diesel. According to the Ford dealer you should floor it every couple of weeks... Is it 'just' a case of carbon buildup due to it being a direct injection engine?

@@user-fp3gx2ow7p it's "just" carbon fouling I guess. After a long drive or after the summer vacation where our car had to pull a 1200kg camping trailer it never smoked until you drove it more easily for a while.
When the engine is nice and warmed up it doesn't hurt to boot it occasionally.

Looks similar to the bmw air to water intercooler, except less stupid since in a bmw you have to replace the whole intake manifold when it breaks lol.

At least with BMW you get performance and the aftermarket takes care of the issues with improvements. To make this engine good will take a lot of custom work and it really won’t ever be fast, you’re just gonna want to improve the reliability more than anything.
