Zangief really feels like the perfect content creator character. He's an in-universe showman, but also a grappler and a low tier, with the flashiest moves in the game.
Sorta unrelated but fighting games have gotten so balanced that tier lists only matter to people who only play to win but I have to admit gief is low tier
Hugo and poison also fit the criteria, but since they are more fame and money hungry, they make more sense

I think just a few move changes would turn zangief into a much better character. The lariat hitting both sides is a good start along with his level 2 sucking both sides. I also think gief is one of the few, maybe even the only characters that have a sweep that pushes the other person away.
I'd like to see slightly better knd from his command grabs
I mean let’s face it, the shotos tatsu hits both sides, why make it so giefs lariat only hits forward? It’s like they gimped him on purpose just to keep all the grappler haters from crying.

So.. funny story, I got my start in fighting games playing Blazblue, where I gravitated towards Taokaka.

I like how antonov got used as the representation for grapplers and KOF in your video and it's funny that he runs a galactic wrestling association but he himself doesn't even use many grappling moves other than one grab that he has. I thought that you would pick Ramon or king of dinosaurs or Clark or someone like that that actually does grapples.
I know. The first version of this intro had raiden and goro daimon but their sprites looked really low res compared to everyone else. So I decided to settle for antonov solely for his win animation

While the tiers are a bit messed up the actual order is decent imo. I seriously think DJ and Chun are top 5 behind ken luke jp, and the only reason they're not considered so universally is bc they have more complicated kits.

@@aydeeee-x3e Oh look, it's yet another SPD for only source of damage and nothing else and lariat: an anti-air that has all the flaws of a tatsu and a tatsu that has all the flaws of an anti-air and two worthless moves tacked on for good measure. All the simplicity of Guile with none of the effectiveness. Gief is a waste of the grappler slot.
