Also, I’d like to encourage you to grow the Rosita variety of eggplant. They are just wonderful. Vigorous, productive and so TASTY! I believe Baker Creek still sells the seeds.
Thank you for this great list! I remember the Huckleberry Gold potato from another video, but you both seemed more impressed by Harvest Moon so I was surprised that it didn't make your list.
Good point. The reason we went with Huckleberry Gold is because this was our first year growing Harvest Moon and they turned out small. I wanted this list to be varieties that taste great and produce very well. The Huckleberry Golds we grew have been large and plateful for the two years we’ve been going them. We will try growing Harvest Moon again next year, but plant them in soil with a lower pH, so hopefully they will do better. They might bump Huckleberry gold next year, but we will see.
I've been growing Celebrity tomatoes, Ambrosia sweet corn, Black Seeded Simpson lettuce, Savor muskmelon, Patterson onion Sungold tomatoes, Fall Sweet and North Georgia Candy roaster winter squash, Long Season Lutz beets, and Seascape strawberries for years. Seascape strawberries planted in May will start producing in early August and continue on until hard frosts in October (covered up from light frosts in September and October).
Fordhook zucchini is hands down my favorite zucchini variety for health, production and vigor! (I like a little round zucchini better for flavor but) I plant the Fordhook EVERY year!
Great video! I’m in central Montana and have tried several on your list with great success 😊 now I’ve got some new ideas of things to try this season! Thanks
Great review sharing your knowledge and experience! I haven't grown much the last few years do to health, but plan on forcing a little bit this year. Some produce from the past I've really enjoyed are Ishikura Bunching Onions, 1500 year old cave beans from Baker Creek and their coffee okra, which made a great campfire drink but doesn't seem to be available anymore.
My favorite channel!
That is so nice of you! 🙏 ☺️

Good to know. We have been looking for a good strawberry variety.
@@MontanaMidValleyFarm I buy new plants every year.

I’m glad some we’ve liked you’ve had success with also! Hope the new varieties do well for you!
The lakota winter squash is vigorous and very productive in the mountains. First year i tried it.
Good to know, thanks!
