Videos like this truly show how subjective destiny 2 pvp can be. I appreciate the detail you put into this video, it’s fun to see what other think is top tier as I disagree with almost everything you have said. Cantata-45 is also the best HC in top tier comp imo. Origin perk can be permanently active and the insane Flinch resistance from it pretty much guarantees every duel I take with it.

Yep, Cantata has very competitive perks and you can focus it at the gunsmith now. I got one now with EOTS and Moving target but I am going to keep focusing for an opening shot one. 76 range on mine with decent stab and handling. Moving target adds 10 aim assist too. Has a good general feel IMO.

Pali has always felt amazing, it’s just not competitive with the perk options currently. I still enjoy using it too, and agree it can put in the work. But it’s entirely eclipsed by Lunas and rose right now. Again, it seems likely that it will get a perk refresh soon and come back into rotation. I’m guessing with the first round of GMs after final shape. And as soon as it’s back you bet your sweet ass I’m farming for a Groll and making a vid for you.
Non Origin Trait Palindrome with Killing Wind and High Impact Reserves, especially with the new changes is my best feeling handcannon, the sound alone is just best all around!

@@itsjustsideways it’s not for everybody I’ll admit. I just enjoy the win condition it provides, particularly in slower games of 3v3. There’s situations where you can break a stalemate with a 2 tap as well (which is a lot easier to make happen against better players) Also being a transversive warlock I would totally understand not liking the gun as it basically ruins it

Before the new maps released my Ace had 30 kills on it. In this last week however I’ve gotten over 1000 kills on Ace in just the new territory mode alone
Another great Midnight Coup roll is moving target + zen moment. 100 aim assist for free just feels so good, it's incredibly sticky. But explosive + zen moment is probably the most optimized roll. The flinch from an explosive midnight coup is honestly just insane, if you've ever fought one you know lol
That’s a very fair point and something I forgot to mention. However, if you’re playing at a competitive pace, you won’t be spending such a large amount of time ADSing that you would benefit from the always on radar. It should be the minimum amount of time ADS for the kill(s) and then back to movement/repositioning and scanning the radar to inform said movement. So not really a big benefit to aces neutral game for me.
@@itsjustsideways even in high level matches its beneficial to occasionally hold angles which happens fairly often when you have map control and arn't just team diffing the opponents and just running it down, third eye is extremely helpful to prevent tunnel vision in those cases also the gun just has really high base range without any need of a one off/proc'd perk to extend it.
Midnight Coupe was my fav gun of all time back when it dropped, its still lowkey #1 but I dont have that godroll Rose yet... and Thorn i just run whenever i feel like using Thorn
The thing people seem to overlook with hawkmoon is the easy two-tap potential, especially with an holster mod reloading without deleting paracausal stacks. Onetaps are nice to have, but i dont know how often the two tap won me a gunfight. Also with 93 base aimassist + eye of the storm you simply can't miss. Best handcannon together with the ace.
Currently, nothing other than all the old sunset weapons (not forgotten included) have been brought back into the game. So you can get an old roll and use it in trials. Though lunas howl has been refreshed with new random rolled perks.

I’ve never used a handcannon like the new Luna’s (since d1 thorn/last word). With opening shot and eye of the storm plus high stability, the 3 taps are so incredibly free as compared to any other handcannon I’ve ever used. The range is a bit lacking, but the precision recoils pattern is unreal on console.
Huge controller weapon for sure, lots of hate from other creators about Lunas on M+K. Though I think it’s incredibly effective if you understand how to work with it. It takes a lot of time to build that confidence though.

I’m 100% m+k. But lunas has more AE from its precision frame, slap an Icarus on there and pair it with speedloaders and you can get back to the old ways of abusing the vertical movement that favors hunters. Maybe take eye of the storm in 3rd column to help with accuracy cone and a decent amount of stability on the lunas without compromising range. At the end of the day the kit is one thing, but learning the play style is another. Watch lots of hunter mains and you’ll start to understand how to behave. I’ll get some hunter hand cannon footage for my next vid and you can watch that too.
Think i agree with your top 3 - it still irks me how accessible luna's is like you mentioned. It's such an easy to use weapon imo that is super strong at the same time and especially a good choice on rollers (not throwing any shade to controller users at all). Luna's also has an intrinsically snappy feel due to the archetype so lower handling doesn't really affect it as much as I thought. This way you can spec almost full range without worrying about harming the stowing and swap speeds. I use rose with slideshot and eots (no os yet sadly) just because it feels really good. Slideshot enabling you to hit the first crit easily just makes 3 tapping really smooth. I've been gunning for a groll ever since it launched and have played almost every week but the I think I'm happy with my roll for now. It's unrelated but one thing that's being bothering me is connections - when I play in peak times I find 3 tapping on point but once I match users outside my continent the feel of the weapons significantly deterioates.
Trust me, I’ve been seeing the connection issues too. Also bad matchmaking in terms of team balance. Keep your eyes peeled for a video from me talking about the biggest things the PvP strike team needs to fix.
Each week, I farm for rose, 7 rolls a week. Only one slide shot explosive payload, the worst stats you could imagine. But I’m used to it, it’s the same for matador64. If I want a gun, bungie won’t let me get it
so if you really recommend luna's on mnk what would be your exact 5/5? I haven't got lucky enough to get slideshot+mag howl but if I do I wanna know just to know lol
Max range without compromising stability, I would take smallbore, high cal, range MW, slideshot, and mag howl. If you’re willing to give up flinch potential you can go ricochet instead but you’re getting a nice stability pop from slideshot so I’d still take high cal.

while it is your opinion, hawkmoon is literally BIS with no competition other than ace. it does so much more without relying on kills and is so much more fun, one tapping supers or anybody with a HC is hilarious. it has perk options unlike ace, the exotic perk covers every stat besides stability, unlike ace if you stow it you don’t lose progress, even better with kinetic holster allowing it to always perform at its peak, less setup for two taps. better stats, better feel, better play making potential just for landing headshots, again i see no competition
Your austringer roll is not working for you because of fullbore. Ik that 61 stability seems like enough, but you still have lots of accuracy cone growth between shots. 65 is the stability number where hand cannons stop having accuracy cone bloom between shots, so your followup shots are ass. Zen moment reduces flinch and *VISUAL* recoil, but does not stop accuracy cone growth. You are gambling on hitting your 3 tap or just dying. Change to Hammer-Forged rifling or ricochet rounds to get that stability back and I promise austringer will feel miles better.

I don’t blame you, stats on the NF from the exotic/past weapon kiosk are solid. And the un-sunsetting makes it actually usable come Final Shape. Though I will say slideshot is one hell of a perk.
Between rose and fatebringer I’ll always pick fatebringer. It has more stability (which is something to consider on handcannons as it reduces flinch and helps with the recoil), doesn’t rely on one perk to be useable or even competitive, and imo it has perk combos I prefer over rose’s. Glad I got one when I had the chance.

Fatebringer is probably the worst out of the bunch Rose- a hunter speciality(free 2 tiers of mobility+ ss opening shot) Austringer-controller speciality- can get high range and high stability with eots and zen moment the gun doesn’t flinch and doesn’t miss Fatebringer- don’t bother imo good base stats Ace of Spades- and the most bang for buck at basethe godfather of hcs, high skill gap for controller players with low stability, but once you get it you got it. High range plus 3rd eye and memento Mori means you stomp everything. Hawkmoon- skill gap in bottle high base stats means you can take it anywhere. Lacks overall slaying potential in 6s. Thorn- the best hc in the game when the perk is active. When the perk isn’t active it has a little bit of everything plus utility with the poison(tracking and negates recovery) to keep it competitive Lunas howl-another controller speciality but instead of it being for dueling it’s for slaying. Has decent base stats but is carried by its frame. Cantana, exalted and Pali-forgotten artifacts that still put in work can get high stats just missing dueling combos. Eyasluna- a worse version of Austringer unless you are a stasis slut. Kept confidence-the best feeling due to its size or lack thereof
Bro is glazing the fuck out of lunas howl, it’s also more geared towards controller because of the recoil, it’s not a high skill gap weapon, also the recoil is based off of 180s like he mentioned in the video and 180s feel easy to use on controller
I hear you, and considered including it. But had to keep the scope of the vid relatively focused otherwise we’d have a 45 minute vid on our hands lol. But since you asked I’ll give my quick thoughts. Exalted is cool, but the perk pool is a bit limited for what I would want in a PvP hand cannon. Column 3 it’s killing wind or under over. Column 4 is more compelling, multi-kill clip, encore, frenzy, eye of the storm. But, no slideshot, no payload, no opening shot. Kinda sad from a trials hand cannon imo. And the suros frames feel a little numb and goofy to shoot, not most people’s favorite, though I played a lot with cantata and it grew on me. Also you can’t get an adept right now since it’s out of rotation, another bummer. The roll I kept and occasionally pull out for 1 purpose exclusively, is under over frenzy. Second perk matters less, but the use case is when you have to challenge a team of void titans with constant OS. It’s nice to negate that benefit they have. The problem is that an OS void titan or woven mail strand titan for that matter will always push you, usually with a sub/peacekeepers. So I almost always go for an under over weapon with more range or a smg. So in the end the one setup exalted is good for gets out classed by other guns that do the same setup and have a more usable effective range for countering that fight. Sorry to word dump but that’s why I left it out of the vid.
Wait wait wait exalted truth adept is STILL very meta Ive got a 5/5 corkscrew, accurized, range mw, eye of the storm rangfinder. This gun is a better pali with huge flinch resist from just reloading with suros synergy. Rangefinder is still A tier if u have a high range stat which mine has a stupid 85 with adept range. It has 66 stabil (threshold for good recoil on 140’s) and 63 handling BUT it becomes 100 with suros synergy 100 handling and massive flinch resist for JUST a reload is crazy and NO other hc can do that. My 5/5 rose is still my fav but this comes second no questions asked. I am on ps5 so that may affect y I feel this way. U didnt even mention exhalted truth like HOW BRO?!? 😂😂😂🎉🎉

@@max73916 Ik exactly what u mean there are some times where u have to play a corner or somthing and ull loose the stacks but my playstyle is a lot of moving so it just works for me. It hit me recently that this perk is heavily playstyle dependent like if ur bunkering up with a barricade waiting for ppl to push ur not getting anything out of this perk. Although I will say that there r times that Ill just keep strafing at a corner and ill still have perp up even for those “slow” moments when ud loose it normally its def a mental adjustment to keep moving ur left sticc to keep the stacks up. I can see this being hella annoying on m&k tho. Im still shocked this perks isn’t talked about more. Its insane. Slideshot is just such a one trick pony like for me its so jarring going from that amazing slideshot stabil into a straight 55 stat ya know? Its feels like ur crusin on a catilac no bumps then all of a sudden u hit a deer or somthing. Like after that slide ends u have nothing. I do understand y m&k loves this perk but for roller I think there r better options.

Exalted truth has that same orgin trait an has better stats an a very good dueling combo of killing wind an encore don't sleep on it.

Fair opinion, different play styles. I’m not holding angles as much with an HC. That style comes out for me when I’m running a pulse.

Each week, I farm for rose, 7 rolls a week. Only one slide shot explosive payload, the worst stats you could imagine. But I’m used to it, it’s the same for matador64. If I want a gun, bungie won’t let me get it
so if you really recommend luna's on mnk what would be your exact 5/5? I haven't got lucky enough to get slideshot+mag howl but if I do I wanna know just to know lol
simple max range and fluted is great barrel option bc of its slow handling
Max range without compromising stability, I would take smallbore, high cal, range MW, slideshot, and mag howl. If you’re willing to give up flinch potential you can go ricochet instead but you’re getting a nice stability pop from slideshot so I’d still take high cal.

while it is your opinion, hawkmoon is literally BIS with no competition other than ace.
it does so much more without relying on kills and is so much more fun, one tapping supers or anybody with a HC is hilarious.
it has perk options unlike ace, the exotic perk covers every stat besides stability, unlike ace if you stow it you don’t lose progress, even better with kinetic holster allowing it to always perform at its peak, less setup for two taps.
better stats, better feel, better play making potential just for landing headshots, again i see no competition

Your austringer roll is not working for you because of fullbore. Ik that 61 stability seems like enough, but you still have lots of accuracy cone growth between shots. 65 is the stability number where hand cannons stop having accuracy cone bloom between shots, so your followup shots are ass. Zen moment reduces flinch and *VISUAL* recoil, but does not stop accuracy cone growth. You are gambling on hitting your 3 tap or just dying. Change to Hammer-Forged rifling or ricochet rounds to get that stability back and I promise austringer will feel miles better.
I have 5 fully crafted austringers and use all of em pretty religiously I promise stability does matter a ton on this hand cannon

I feel like the annual skate and cantata god rolls are better than some of the 140s on this list

Pali lost its edge with the rangefinder nerf. I’m sure they’ll bring it back soon with a perk refresh.

I don’t blame you, stats on the NF from the exotic/past weapon kiosk are solid. And the un-sunsetting makes it actually usable come Final Shape. Though I will say slideshot is one hell of a perk.

Between rose and fatebringer I’ll always pick fatebringer. It has more stability (which is something to consider on handcannons as it reduces flinch and helps with the recoil), doesn’t rely on one perk to be useable or even competitive, and imo it has perk combos I prefer over rose’s. Glad I got one when I had the chance.

Luna's howl is easily one of the easiest to use. The visual recoil is non existent so it's easy to keep sights on target .

Fatebringer is probably the worst out of the bunch
Rose- a hunter speciality(free 2 tiers of mobility+ ss opening shot)
Austringer-controller speciality- can get high range and high stability with eots and zen moment the gun doesn’t flinch and doesn’t miss
Fatebringer- don’t bother imo good base stats
Ace of Spades- and the most bang for buck at basethe godfather of hcs, high skill gap for controller players with low stability, but once you get it you got it. High range plus 3rd eye and memento Mori means you stomp everything.
Hawkmoon- skill gap in bottle high base stats means you can take it anywhere. Lacks overall slaying potential in 6s.
Thorn- the best hc in the game when the perk is active. When the perk isn’t active it has a little bit of everything plus utility with the poison(tracking and negates recovery) to keep it competitive
Lunas howl-another controller speciality but instead of it being for dueling it’s for slaying. Has decent base stats but is carried by its frame.
Cantana, exalted and Pali-forgotten artifacts that still put in work can get high stats just missing dueling combos.
Eyasluna- a worse version of Austringer unless you are a stasis slut.
Kept confidence-the best feeling due to its size or lack thereof

I hear you, and considered including it. But had to keep the scope of the vid relatively focused otherwise we’d have a 45 minute vid on our hands lol. But since you asked I’ll give my quick thoughts. Exalted is cool, but the perk pool is a bit limited for what I would want in a PvP hand cannon. Column 3 it’s killing wind or under over. Column 4 is more compelling, multi-kill clip, encore, frenzy, eye of the storm. But, no slideshot, no payload, no opening shot. Kinda sad from a trials hand cannon imo.
And the suros frames feel a little numb and goofy to shoot, not most people’s favorite, though I played a lot with cantata and it grew on me.
Also you can’t get an adept right now since it’s out of rotation, another bummer.
The roll I kept and occasionally pull out for 1 purpose exclusively, is under over frenzy. Second perk matters less, but the use case is when you have to challenge a team of void titans with constant OS. It’s nice to negate that benefit they have. The problem is that an OS void titan or woven mail strand titan for that matter will always push you, usually with a sub/peacekeepers. So I almost always go for an under over weapon with more range or a smg. So in the end the one setup exalted is good for gets out classed by other guns that do the same setup and have a more usable effective range for countering that fight. Sorry to word dump but that’s why I left it out of the vid.

Wait wait wait exalted truth adept is STILL very meta Ive got a 5/5 corkscrew, accurized, range mw, eye of the storm rangfinder. This gun is a better pali with huge flinch resist from just reloading with suros synergy. Rangefinder is still A tier if u have a high range stat which mine has a stupid 85 with adept range. It has 66 stabil (threshold for good recoil on 140’s) and 63 handling BUT it becomes 100 with suros synergy 100 handling and massive flinch resist for JUST a reload is crazy and NO other hc can do that. My 5/5 rose is still my fav but this comes second no questions asked. I am on ps5 so that may affect y I feel this way. U didnt even mention exhalted truth like HOW BRO?!? 😂😂😂🎉🎉

I do understand y u have that opinion tho. I mean I NEVER see it anywhere in crucible save for like 1/100 games or somthing. I think its a dark horse even after the power creep. Rose is still goated as *bbeeeeeeppp* tho and it doesnt make sense for a controller user since the stabil is kinda bad but perpetual motion SAVES lives on roller. Also a VERY slept on perk. @@max73916 Ik exactly what u mean there are some times where u have to play a corner or somthing and ull loose the stacks but my playstyle is a lot of moving so it just works for me. It hit me recently that this perk is heavily playstyle dependent like if ur bunkering up with a barricade waiting for ppl to push ur not getting anything out of this perk. Although I will say that there r times that Ill just keep strafing at a corner and ill still have perp up even for those “slow” moments when ud loose it normally its def a mental adjustment to keep moving ur left sticc to keep the stacks up. I can see this being hella annoying on m&k tho. Im still shocked this perks isn’t talked about more. Its insane. Slideshot is just such a one trick pony like for me its so jarring going from that amazing slideshot stabil into a straight 55 stat ya know? Its feels like ur crusin on a catilac no bumps then all of a sudden u hit a deer or somthing. Like after that slide ends u have nothing. I do understand y m&k loves this perk but for roller I think there r better options.
