Looks like a very competitive offering. I am sold on the hybrid design because it gives you all the options to decide which setup is right for you. People don't always understand that a trans mount might be great for a weekend car but not a daily driver. I would just work on the marketing of the product, the real hard work has already been completed. Good Job
Cheap Car Guy Many cars including the mustang ran shifters directly mounted to the transmission with no ill effects. The movement is very small especially combined with a beefed up trans mount.
Just transmission mounted on my 2011 gt, with all four springs, used the sound deadening foam can barely hear it. Can barely feel transmission vibration, slips right into 3rd like butter, and my reverse lockout finally works have to push down to get into reverse. Installed myself it's pretty tricky getting the two arms put back on but so worth the trouble
Hi sir, I just took mine to a local mechanic and they installed it yesterday, but it has no push down reverse lock out and sometimes it's very hard to find second gear, do you think they got something wrong? should i let them redo it ? Thank you.
@@Jonnyfm did either of you ever get an answer to the lockout reverse. I'm looking into buying one for my 2016 mustang but if the lockout reverse doesn't work well that's a deal breaker.
I am looking into buying one for my 2016 mustang and I want the flat stick with the push down lockout reverse but there seams to be a lot of talk about the lock out not working correct is this something you could cover in a video. If the lock out doesn't work then this changes the game. I would not won't it then.
@@ArsenicDNA the Barton web site shows that you have to push down on the flat stick to engage reverse and pull up on the round shifter. So I gather from your comment that it will go into reverse without pushing down on the stick. And that basically it has no lock out reverse.
I have one for my mt82 GT. Flat stick hybrid 3, I have to push down to go into reverse. Never had an issue with it letting me go into reverse when I didn’t want it to
@@meorge9359 thanks for the reply George although I haven't bought it yet due to all the comments on you tube about the reverse lockout not working , I did send a reply to Bartons you tube channel for more info on it due to all the comments but haven't got an answer from them. I'm going to call them today to see what I can find out about it.
when you body mount this shifter and transmission starts to flex, does back bracket that's bolted to the body has any flex to it? cause if not it seems it will be putting all the pressure on that back bracket. is it not?
YES it does flex! The 2 bolts that are part of the body that hold the shifter up can snap. I know cause it happen to me. Woke up one morning to the sound of my shifter sitting on the driveshaft. Since it was a brand new Barton with the 2 post bracket I had no choice but to drill out the remaining bolt completely through the body leaving 2 holes and mock up my own setup with nuts and bolts. Buying a tranny mounted shifter will permanently fix my problem.
Wonder if you put actual top shifter on backwards, he shows in installation video it can go on two ways and have to put it on right, also shows how to move plate back and forth when setting shift gate
Yeah. I'm having that problem as well at 5K or more some times. Seems to want to lock out coming out of 1st gear to 2nd gear. I have adjusted the cup more times than I can count lol. Might just add lock tight once I get it back corrected today so the bolts don't vibrate lose. Mines is trans mounted.

any plans to come out with this design for the 2011-14 s197??
will the transmission mount work with the BMW driveshaft loop?
can we use this on 11-14 v6 mt82??
So there is 3 different cartridges?
So should I body or trans mount? 😭
I've bought one and it's on the way.....woohoo
How is the 2nd to 3rd shift? is it '' guided'' to 3rd where all you have to do is push forward??
Junior Pedraza
That comes with setting the spring tension from side to side. This whole shifter system is customizable.

Anthony yeah I was just playing around with it at the shop and didn’t get to actually see but it had no lock out when I was wiggling it in neutral

any updates coming to the Challenger shifter?
Not at this moment. But we are always looking at new ways to improve what we offer.
