Your story about the Rohirim is so relatable! I used to collect LOTR miniatures too! And I too horrobly butchered them :D Although, sadly I was around 16... but nevermind :D Happy to see more tutorials like this :)

I remember trying to paint some Gondor soldiers and pretty much just dunking them in silver paint and calling it a day lmao

    Couple of tips:
-Try zenith primer. It is great specially for contrast paints.
-Dilute the paints a bit, even if it means you need two layers to cover some zones. It will give you more control of the amount of paint and the tones.
-Try sometimes to create shadows using a darker tone of the base color. Using inks and contrast paints is easy and quick but main pieces like characters really like a propper gradient!

Nice job, excited for painting and old world content to come on this channel! Looking forward to seeing Hans and Daisy fighting for Sigmar once the bat-reps begin.

“Today, we’re taking care of the Empire General, we’re just gonna call him Hans. And the horse I just FEEL we have to name Daisy.”
With an intro like that, you know it’s gotta be a feel-good video :D

Wonderful paintjob. You said that drybrush probably wasn't necessary on the horse's fur, but I think it really made the difference.

Excellent job can't wait for more tabletop content! My 5 year old (who has just started wanting to paint minis after watching her mam and me do them) will be so excited the horse has the same name as her 😊😄

I saw it was from Turin and thought maybe we would be painting a multiplayer battlefield red….with BLOOD! But no,it’s literal paint! Also good, fine work. I’ve watched a few 40k model paints, seems I like watching Old World models too.

Nice, I always find horses kinda daunting to paint since there's so much empty space on them. It was by far the roughest part of my Slaves to Darkness box, who are otherwise a joy to paint (I will never forgive CA for taking away the Chaos Warriors' leather boots XD)

Daisy looks fantastic, I’d love to how that technique looks on a horse with less armour. This is probably my favourite of the Empire horses, and the red armour really suits it - now wishing I’d tried that on mine!

More of this please! This was an excellent video and really inspired me to get back into minis - absolutely relatable stories too. I had some Minas Tirith dudes when I was a teen collecting LotR, and I was super proud of them, but looking back? Good gods. I'm happy with how my skills have come along, or was before Covid killed my inspiration. Excellent vid!

Loved this video! If you were to give these out as prizes for tournaments it might be a cool idea to show the miniature reward being painted in advance. It could help to create hype and you could even name the leagues - for example if this was the prize it could be "Super Hans Sunday" for the tournament!

Really great job Lady Turin. Have you done much of the Slap Chop method and if so how do you feel about it. I dot paint but have started watching a lot of videos lately because it looks interesting. I have an old LOTR set of goblins and elves which I thought about finishing sometime soon just to see if it's something I want to get into. Thank you and Turin for all the great content!

I find that it is easier to paint models before assembly or at least the parts that'd make the process more difficult. I'd hazard a guess that Hans would have been less frustrating to work with.
