It looks like NS is pulling out of storage everything that has wheels under it. So much traffic increase. It's really nice to see it. I wish CSX would get their share, too, but they don't seem to participate in that race right now. Many thanks, I'm happy you like the videos.
One never knows what one gets when filming under these conditions, but it was just an extraordinary day and I'm satisfied with the footage overall. Great you like it.
Awesome video MB! I was hoping for the Y scene and you nailed it. The Virginian is a big beautiful bumble bee and the car grafitti was colorful. You're zooming!
MBMARS I bring you good news I have the internet at home and watch your video on my 45 inch high def TV it is not 4k it is still very clear. I loved watching your video even more. I look forward to your videos and watching them on TV. Thanks MBMARS
My wife rolls her eyes every time I want to spend a whole by myself at the "Y". She knows it is like telling a kid, we are not buying anything for you at the toy shop, we are just here to get my friends child a b-day gift. I just cannot get enough of that spot. Just for giggles, I was looking at what house cost around there, so I not have to go to far.
MBMARS Thanks for this video I had lunch with you today. I was amazed to see the different railroads represented. Question for you the Virginian was that a railroad or was it named after the state? 4K is absolutely great watched on my iPhone. You do the works and I have the fun. I appreciate you work please take care. I have seen this spot in many of your videos thanks
Many thanks! I think, 4k looks even better on a large screen. Lol, yea it's kind of work, particularly under these conditions, but it's combined with fun. So I enjoy it and it has a mutual benefit :) Your question has already been answered.
Actually there are 2 roads that give perfect views of the Wye, Jefferson Street is up from the Wye and then Foster Street is takes you right in the Wye. Both streets are dead ends but Foster Street has crossings and a dirt road that takes you in the middle of the Wye. Both near the tracks and you get both NS and CSX there. I was there on Sunday and got some good video footage.
Yeah, I know, but I meant viewing from public ground. What you call dirt road is probably part of the right-of-way of the railroads. Even in Austell, railfanning inside the wye is not permitted and NS police is very active there.
Yeah I understand... Saw my first foreign unit last weekend (CN 3015). Since the start of February all of Norfolk Southerns trains that went through Pineville North Carolina were all north bounds. 2 Covered Hoppers (8:30am 2/24/18, and 2/17/18 CN foreign unit 3:00pm), 1 MOW unit which I never seen before, and was so slow, an inner-modal (2/24/18 9:20am), and this morning at 8:30am unknown which I heard but didn't see. I basically live in Pineville on the border of SC/NC. I have the windows up so much that I hear NB and SB so much that it is hard to believe that I still haven't saw a Heritage Unit... And what's the Bay Line?
Nice that you're living so close to this active line. I'm sure you'll see your first heritage unit sooner or later. They are often in the NC/SC area. You can check heritageunits.com, where they are, although this information is not always up-to-date.
Yes i do check it and it is based on people who hear listen see or watch HU go by and I think that when 5 days hits and that train hasn't been posted again it goes bye bye
Well, "wye" is just a word for the symbol associated with the letter "Y", but you're right, in railroad jargon it refers to a triangular layout, where all legs are connected to each other (which indeed makes it possible to turn around an engine).
Oh you will... I'm sure. There's the website "heritageunits.com", where you can track them. If you're on facebook, join groups of railfans, where train movements are reported. It helps a lot!
Generally, you'll find that 'foreign' power will play a big part of some consists. Generally due to a shortage of motive power or unexpected problems results in different engines running. Quite a spectacular array of colours though.
Well, since most rail cars are specialized to carry one type of commodity, it's only a question of whether the car is loaded or empty. The only exceptions are boxcars and containers, of course, which typically do not reveal their content (except military containers, which carry a hazard placard).
I always like seeing trains in rainy, overcast weather. Great video!
Same here! Thanks.
@@mbmars01 No wonder Atlanta is a major railroad center, both during the Civil War and in modern times.
The view at 17.02 and later with the trains going around opposite curves in opposite directions was fascinating!
Cool, glad you liked it!
Nice! What an amazing local to watch so many and various diesel power and freight cars. Thankful for your time and effort especially in the rain. 🚂
You're welcome! The rain adds actually some atmosphere I think and it doesn't bother me too much as long as it's not too heavy.
Dedication: Railfanning in the rain. Excellent content. Thanks.
Yep, good it came out well. The camcorder doesn't like these conditions too much. Many thanks, I'm happy you liked the video.
Nice catch of the SD60M. I don't think I've ever caught one. Love watching your videos. Excellent as usual.
It looks like NS is pulling out of storage everything that has wheels under it. So much traffic increase. It's really nice to see it. I wish CSX would get their share, too, but they don't seem to participate in that race right now. Many thanks, I'm happy you like the videos.
I think a lot of traffic that NS got came from CSX losing it. That's my thoughts.
There's definitely some truth in it. We came to the same conclusion here in the Atlanta area.
Another great video series, clearly telling the story of the busy junction near Atlanta. Please keep up the good work.
Many thanks. Good you like this video, too!
Love the diagrams, most don't even think of that or even say where their location is!!
I agree. I also don't like it when it's not clearly mentioned where and when the trains were caught.
Nice catch of the VGN heritage unit.great video of foreign power! Tremendous video!
Haha, I love that "Big Bumble Bee" :) Glad you enjoyed the video.
Hey that was Awesome a lot of foreign power all in the rain... thanks👏🏽👍🏽and yes that is the hottest Y in GA.
Thanks! Good you enjoyed it.
Great catch in the triclops SD60. That's a very rare engine
Absolutely!
Superb train video!💯🏆
Many thanks, cool you like it.
MBMARS I bring you good news I have the internet at home and watch your video on my 45 inch high def TV it is not 4k it is still very clear. I loved watching your video even more. I look forward to your videos and watching them on TV. Thanks MBMARS
Awesome! I know that the features and details come out so much better on a large screen. I'm glad you could share this experience.
There were some nice trains here in part 1 and then part 2. I love those videos. Can wait until you release more stuff like this.😄😄😊😁
Awesome, thanks. I also loved what I saw on that day. It was extraordinary.
Some nice catches there. Guess a little rain was worth it

Thanks! Well, it was wet lol ;-)
Very well put together! Love those EMD'S😎
Great, I'm happy you liked it.

Great! "The Bay Line" I remember seeing going to Panama City FL!!
Nice catch on the heritage NS 1069
Thanks! Sometimes one is lucky to catch one in GA.
Haha, that's a funny description, I like it ;-) But it's so true...
can you find Norfolk Southern 9140 leading NS 9905 please?
Lol, what is special with these Dash-9s?
Great video, love them. But I personally think the old intro was better.
Thanks! Well, that's okay. It's matter of taste anyway ;-)
Great Video! Thumbs Up!
Greetings From Poland :)
Awesome. Greetings to Poland :)
Awesome catches!
Thanks!
Amazing!
Cool :) Thanks.
Great video and catches!
Nice, glad you liked watching the video.
Awesome video.
Thanks!
23:51 BNSF 739 is formerly a warbonnet.
Thank you for the amazing train videos! The quality is unsurpassed. Quick question, if you don’t mind:
Do you typically wear earplugs while filming?
Many thanks, very much appreciated! No, I enjoy the noise as part of the railfanning experience ;-)
tremendous video.
Many thanks!
Super video great 😂😁😆
Great, thank you :)
Any ways Great video MB=) keep em coming
Good, thanks!
MBMARS Thanks for this video I had lunch with you today. I was amazed to see the different railroads represented. Question for
you the Virginian was that a railroad or was it named after the state? 4K is absolutely great watched on my iPhone. You do the works and I have the fun. I appreciate you work please take care. I have seen this spot in many of your videos thanks
Virginian was a railroad
Zack thanks for your information I appreciate it
Many thanks! I think, 4k looks even better on a large screen. Lol, yea it's kind of work, particularly under these conditions, but it's combined with fun. So I enjoy it and it has a mutual benefit :) Your question has already been answered.
I just noticed 9019 plays twice in this video
Yes, it came as the DPU on NS 226 and then it was on the section of cars bound for Whitaker yard, picked up by G92.
mbmars01, What are those emergency sirens going off at 21:28?
I don't remember, but I also don't recall anything special. Maybe someone was speeding lol.
Awesome video very nice
Very cool, I'm happy you liked watching it.
Nice video, have you ever been to the Howell Wye near Inman Yard?
Thanks! No, I haven't. As far as I know, access is not easy and views are rather limited. It's certainly an interesting spot, though.
Actually there are 2 roads that give perfect views of the Wye, Jefferson Street is up from the Wye and then Foster Street is takes you right in the Wye. Great Video 👍
Thank you!
Good videos man
Great, thanks!
Any chance you’ll be out in Austell on March 31st?
Probably not. I'm not living close to Austell.
Does NS 733 terminate in Cheyenne, Wyoming?
Can you travel to Pineville NC for you next video mb
located on the peidmont sub i think mp is 422.9
That's too far away from where I live for just a small railfanning trip.

i like motor sound no more
on ns 226 there is a train that didnt get a notice up 5107 is there a reason for this miss.
5:06 U missed a M
Good video but it's not a wye. A wye is a triangle where you have the ability to turn an engine around. King Plow is a wye.
Well, "wye" is just a word for the symbol associated with the letter "Y", but you're right, in railroad jargon it refers to a triangular layout, where all legs are connected to each other (which indeed makes it possible to turn around an engine).
I have seen 3120
What camera do you have, I have Sony Handycam HDR CX 675
I use a Panasonic camcorder, WXF991.
HERITAGE GOOD CATCH!!!
It's always nice to catch a heritage unit. This one came a bit surprising.
mbmars01 I never will see a heritage :(
Oh you will... I'm sure. There's the website "heritageunits.com", where you can track them. If you're on facebook, join groups of railfans, where train movements are reported. It helps a lot!
mbmars01 hey could you give me a shout-out plz my channel could use some subs if you could do that that would be great!
mbmars01 I DID IT!!!! I CAUGHT ONE!!! Go see the video?
Ns is gold medal winner
Norfolk and western boxcar
We're cn and CP service run on the railroads around in North America alot at ?
Generally, you'll find that 'foreign' power will play a big part of some consists. Generally due to a shortage of motive power or unexpected problems results in different engines running. Quite a spectacular array of colours though.
It's strange I rarely see American power in Canada, yet Canadian power can be seen almost all over the lower 48.
Why do railfan you-tubers never never talk about the freight except military trains?
Well, since most rail cars are specialized to carry one type of commodity, it's only a question of whether the car is loaded or empty. The only exceptions are boxcars and containers, of course, which typically do not reveal their content (except military containers, which carry a hazard placard).
How does cn run in Atlanta Georgia?
They have no track in GA, but sometimes NS and CSX trains just have CN locomotives - the typical share among all big railroads in North America.
CN 3120
