I’m sure the Railroad Employees enjoy seeing the Railfans take such an interest in their work. 👍

Austell is one of the best places to catch NS trains in GA. There is always something special to see there! Great video!

Live in Mableton which is 3 miles east of Austell. Love watching the railroad traffic.

I grew up in Austell and lived there until moving to Woodstock GA in 1983…hearing the horns of the locomotives was my norm (I loved hearing them)…I actually went to work for Norfolk Southern in 1980 in the mechanical department…until my retirement from disability 34 years later related to an unmarked B/O boxcar door falling onto me while closing it in Chattanooga TN (I took a transfer from Atlanta in 1989)…I truly miss my railroading days…they were good times (except for the 825 lb. boxcar door bouncing of my head 😳😳😳).

I have not found a good place to see the Dalton diamond from a high place. Any suggestion? Depot St. under the bridge is almost too close to the tracks.

Great video as always. A lot of stuff seen here seem eerily familiar to me. Like I was there as well. LOL. Austell and Mableton are my favorite locations to railfan here in Georgia. There is no shortage of action and trains to see and film.

Another in a series of well-done videos. The videography (including with the drone) is excellent. I saw a picture of a very unusual-looking crossover in my local newspaper a year or so ago. It appears that one train passes directly across the other set of rails. It appears that there is some steelwork built into the track that raises the train as it prepares to cross. It also appears that the flanges have actually worn grooves in the rails being crossed. Obviously, the up-and-over tracks must get very little use since there is no coss-over being used. Have you ever seen anything like that?

All this horn-blowing would drive me nuts if I lived there. Must be typical American. Here in Belgium you hardly hear any of this. I live near to a busy railroad crossing with lots of freight trains.
