The thing I love about this channels is that he can drag an 1 sentence answer to 12 minutes, but making it exceptionally entertaining
Let me guess, it's because Daredevil can't see him, so technically he can't perform his stare.
Wrong
Indeed I was, the real reason is way better
Pretty good reason
Cal DW and ghost rider could kick his ass without it
@@caldw615 it also seems to have a less potent effect on creatures with multiple eyes because the intensity of the stare is diluted or something. Which makes me wonder if thats stare doesn’t work on symbiote’s given they can see through every part of there body.
"He's probably an accountant or something"
That made me laugh more than it should've, lmao
Love how you're so blunt and straight to the point with the facts really enjoy your commentary on your comics content
Love how I've been binging videos all day on this channel and right when I'm about to go to bed, a new video...Yay!
I thought this would be like,
GR "look into my eyes"
DD "I'm gonna have to stop you there, your gonna have to look I to mine, I'll stay still"
I thought it might be related to the fact that Ghost Rider's stare power doesn't work on DD since he's blind.
I may be misremembering this (it's been a hot minute or two since I read Civil War) but, didn't they write in that Sppedball/Penance found he couldn't access his powers without some kind of stimulation, and found pain to be the best motivator? I vaguely remember there being a necessity to the spikes. It was still stupid no matter which way you slice it.
Yeah after the explosion and him being the only survivor of the new warriors (?) he was powerless until he went to prison (after hospital) and he got the crap beat out of him and the beatings awoke a new powerset which only seemed to work when he was in intense pain hence the suit he ordered specifically to for this reason. He wasn't doing it for funsies he was doing it to access powers again.
I know he's not a hero but I say Lobo has one of the best names around because I'm not talking about his simple translate from spanish to english name lobo=wolf, I'm talking about what his name means on his home world (that he destroyed) which translates to: He who eats your entrails and thoroughly enjoys it
7:48 I'd have to go with "The Punisher". Just puts chills down your spine, right?
Another name that Ghost Rider could've used if it wasn't already taken. We're getting quite a list here. Daredevil, The Punisher, Blazing Skull, Eye-Boy...
I don't think any other channel could take such a tiny factoid and naturally turn that into 12 minutes of content.
Ohh a cute name for a tough small female character, Honey Badger.
This exists. She's a clone of X-23, who herself is a female clone of Wolverine.
.
Although she's changed her name to "Scout" since then.
There is a Gail Carriger novela with a Bee 🐝 themed assassin trained Lady spy playing house.
My favorite obscure hero: Moon Knight. Think Dr. Fate except no magic and he's was an archeologist, merc, and CIA
One of my favorite moments between Ghost Rider and Hulk was in World War Hulk. Rider rides in and starts fighting Hulk. And Hulk got Penence Stared and Rider saw why Hulk was so pissed off.
Rider stopped fighting and said that Hulk was justifying in his anger and just rode off.
To the dismay of other super heroes.
Something similar happened in Flash comics, Kid Flash originally wanted to go with Speedy but Green Arrow’s side kick took it
You need to see the comic where Red Hulk temporarily gains the powers of Venom and Ghost Rider. At the same time.
I think my favourite ghost rider related thing was when the Ghost Rider attached itself to Red Hulk, and then Venom attached itself to Red Hulk aswell, and it creates this unstoppable and infinitely cool three-way of destruction
Daredevil has the best secret identity. I mean who'd blame the blind guy of being a vigilante
Fun fact there is a version of ghost rider who is a cowboy and can cause the effect of the penance stare by punching people
So far I haven't seen him mention the Ghostrider present in Agent's of Shield season 4 which really was awesome.
I would love to see ghost rider's penance stare portrayed as the nic cage face
Oh my I have to pull out my Civil War comics now! I forgot about Penance! What a cruel fate for a character, but what makes it better is he does it to himself.
6:45 In the Earth X books there is a character called Daredevil who is immortal and does deadly stunts.
you forgot the best part about Penance, he also made his cat, Neil, change from being the bouncing cat to also be covered in spikes
In one comic, Thanos starts his day with the penance stare. He uses it as a pick me up
fun fact: ghost rider tried to use his penance stare on deadpool once, it simply didnt work.
The Etrigan/Ghost Rider/Flash fusion from the Amalgam universe is named Speed Demon so he did get an appropriate name at some point.
Ghost rider’s logic is scarily close to deadpool levels of petty and meta
On the subject of Penance, he actually needs to feel pain because after the explosion his powers only work when he is in pain.
Not only are there 3 movies called Shaft but each of them has a different main character played by a different actor and all 3 characters are Shaft. So you had the original Shaft from 1971 with John Shaft played by Richard Roundtree, then you have the 2000 film with John Shaft Jr. played by Samuel L. Jackson and then you have the 2019 film with John Shaft the 3rd played by Jessie Usher and each Shaft movie has the previous generation(s) of Shaft reprising their roles
We need professor ghost rider photoshop
My fav DD moment is actually Ironfist giving Tony Stark a Silver dollar and telling him the other 29 are on their way.
My favorite names for super heroes is definitely Cloak and Dagger. So underutilized characters but they have pretty cool powers
I've gotta love the one-two punch of Luke Cage vs Power Man.
"It's a whole thing. It's weird."
Comics summarized in two sentences
A video about that time Wolverine died would be cool. When he used the Phoenix Gun to kill Ego the living planet I think it was
I'm reasonably sure Stan Lee said Xavier is supposed to pronounced as Ex-Ayvier, despite the real name being pronounced Zay- vier.
Fun fact. The penance stare doesn't work on daredevil not because he's blind but because he's ginger & therefore has no soul
Talk About The Real life Hero’s in California like Phoenix Jones. And how he was a Masked Crime fighter for 10 years until he got caught doing something illegal
4:57 ghost rider in a full suit and tie eatting breakfast at denny's
0:45 I think I read that one... the most absurd thing is that not only he is Thanos's nana but he is also The Punisher, went to hell, came back as ghost rider, got the power of Silver Surfer, crossed the universe on his cosmic powered motorcycle... all at once!
The accompanying video game to the hulk movie was amazing... cannot believe the movie was so hated (one of my favorite movies as a child)
Something interesting to note is that ghost rider has had many forms / vehicles over the ages. Including the crew of an m3 Stuart tank
The Haunted Tank?
@@pvthitch its called tank 666
Frankly, audio quality on Lucas-via-phone is far better than previous Lucas-in-person. I can finally understand what he's saying on the first go.
Just, something to keep in mind post-quarantine.
When I saw the title of this video I fully thought the reason Ghost Rider would hate daredevil is because he can't look at his justice stare......he's blind and is therefore immune to the justice stare
I don't care what anyone says but Snow Flame is still the best comic character cause his design acknowledges the powers one can gain from snorting copious amounts of cocaine.
Sauce on that pfp homie?
There’s a spike for every person that died in the Stamford incident with 60 larger spikes representing the children that died...not only to punish himself but because his powers would only activate when he felt pain for a while
Franklin Richards as Powerhouse. I love the fact he has been considered an omniversal threat but is still a kid so gives himself a name like powerhouse.
This just made me think what if the Ghost Rider, the Venom symbiote, and Hulk all fused into one.
Then I looked it up and that's exactly what freaking happened.
Speedball lost the ability to generate the energy on his own, and now gains it through physical pain.
Hence the internal spikes.
Though, you're also correct on the other reason Penance has them.. the emo bastard. Lol
4:45 I can see professor ghost rider being a camp counselor with a bunch of kids roasting s’mores on his head while he’s discussing the fate of the world with another mcu hero 😂
Wolverine got his nickname when he was really young and worked for a mining company. The other workers started calling him that because he could dig holes “as fast as a wolverine”. Plus his personality and temperament of course.
I really thought this would have something to do with Daredevil being blind and the penance stare not working on him.
This is fast becoming my favorite channel lol idk how I found it but I'm glad I did
Ghost rider: Look into my eye's
Daredevil: I am blind i can't see
I love the idea that the next hulk movie has hulk banner on the run because a mob criminal called Mr fix-it played by Edward Norton
looks like the hulk but grey and in a suit. so the whole film is essentially The Fugitive in green and it later turns out oh Mr fix-it is the old hulk mind's leftovers.
I loved Nick Cage as Ghost Rider/Johnny Blaze.
Even though a version of the Rider appeared in Agents of SHIELD, its still uncertain if this is 'canon' to the MCU at large (not much with Agents is, unfortunately).
If they make a new movie, though, I would love to see Nick come back as Johnny, to past the Spirit of Vengeance on to whoever the new Ghost Ride will be.
So on the name Xavier, it is most likely a mix of various reasons not just due to the X in X-Men. It is entirely possible that people pronounce the X in Xavier due to how someone they know or how they pronounce that name. Case in point is myself, I pronounce my middle name that way.
So Ghost Rider and Juggernaut are both inhabited by demon power. Who else in the Marvel universe falls into this category?
Wasn't there also a thing about Penance that he got shot and lost his powers but then later learned that he could still use his powers but only when he's in extreme pain? Also there's, like, shrapnel in his spine, or something, so he's in constant pain anyway.
"The devil of hell's kitchen" is too long sounds like the title of a story or book?.. a cooking book .... By Gordon Ramsey(misspelled but you know what I mean)
Daredevil has a power that is rarely used; he is nearly impervious to mental manipulation. When a psychic tries to read his thoughts they get overwhelmed by all the input from his four heightened senses.
Daily reminder that you had the wrong lantern core dream team. You wanted Mumen Rider as a green lantern.
Overcome by guilt and driven insane by his treatment, Baldwin orders a new suit of armor that features 612 internal spikes, in honor of the victims of explosion in Stanford, to trigger his powers. 60 of the spikes are larger than the rest, to represent the children who perished in the blast. Baldwin then rechristens himself "Penance" and is assigned to the Thunderbolts.
There's a ghost rider arc in world War hulk where the Johnny blaze gets knocked out and the spirit of vengeance takes over completely and just rides off.
6:35 to see why ghost rider hates dare devil.
thank you
I think one of the coolest, badass, and intimidating names is Grimlock. Yes its transformers, but it fits the character, and explains what will happen if you cross him
I've always been a fan of Swarm, he's a Spiderman villain who is made entirely of bees!
Not just a villain made of bees, he's a Nazi made of bees! Because Nazism makes any villain more fun to punch!
(I just looked him up on wikipedia, apparently he's still got his original skeleton inside there. Even cooler!)
I imagine being a guy made of bees means he doesn't have a life outside his villainy. Some villains get to just take the costume off, put on a normal outfit, and go down to the bar after work. Not Swarm.
Imagine an American Biker Bar where all of the Ghost Riders in the Multiverse are chilling and having fun,
Example; Robbie Reyes is rocking some Hydraulics on his’ car in the parking lot, Cowboy GR is Rising an Artificial Bull like a boss, Cosmic Ghost Rider is singing Karaoke, Johnny Blaze it sitting at a Table laughing and enjoying himself surrounded by Ghost Riders, etc.
If they make a Multiversal Ghost Rider Movie I would love to see it (especially if it includes a gathering at a Biker Bar, a guy Can Dream)
I think Animal-Vegetable-Mineral Man belongs on a list of badly named comic book characters.
Mina Price Is that another name for Man-Thing🤣
The Hulk did the thunder thingy once and it really made his palms sting like hell so he decided to not do it anymore.
This reminds me of the Bob's Burgers episode where the accountants try to buy a motorcycle. The one eyed snakes are like, " I get it their lives are monotonous"
