    My mom lived in Fallis as a small child, her two older sisters went to the old schoolhouse that is still there and I've still got their report cards from when my aunts went there (their mom my grandmother kept everything lol). I'm the one who mows the old cemetery lawn because several of my family members (great grandparents & several great aunts & uncles are buried there) the flowers on the cemetery gate were placed there by yours truly and I just returned today to put new flowers on the gate. I was looking online for video to show my friend Fallis & found your UA-cam. My great-grandparents were part of the residents who placed the "Fallis" rocks on the hillside. And have old pics of my two late aunts in the old school yard with the teeter totter & water well in the background with their teacher. Thought I'd share :)

    The old church is downtown Fallis and is still standing. It's by the Koko Knoll homestead, Koko was a renowned author. The old post office across from the bank is now a residential home and no longer a post office

    Next time you explore an old ghost town take someone over 65 years old with you. They could tell you things about such as that carpet. It was popular in the late sixties and very early seventies. If you look at the community center as a school, look it up that way and you will more than likely find when the school opened and closed. It more than likely became a community center after school closing. Enjoy you taking us to Falis Ok.

      @@elliesawesomechannel5719 I don't know about the fire. I am from southern Oklahoma a ways from Falis and the fire may have been before my time. Most of the old towns had a bad fire somewhere in their history. Ardmore had one because of a train car exploding and downtown was right there. You may try looking Folis up on Wickapedia (spelling) as they may have some history of the town telling about the fire. Good luck.

    • @nicholasshade
      @nicholasshade 4 роки тому +1

      It wouldn't surprise me if someone left a running lawnmower out there considering all the other metal they left behind. You think these people would have enough knowledge to pick all that metal and glass up and recycle it. But if it's not about money or brand new cars people are uninterested. The thing is if they don't start recycling now, there isn't going to be any metal for their cars.♻

    • @raynasplace5378
      @raynasplace5378 4 роки тому

      So a lawnmower with an infinite fuel supply? Lawnmowers, even most older ones, have a fail safe handle that has to be held down in order to work. It's for safety reasons. So unless this lawnmower has infinite fuel from somewhere and the handle has been held down, there is no way that is possible.

    I was just thinking that this is a situation where I would have NO qualms taking as much as I could to restore and reuse because it's officially abandoned and is only facing a future of total waste, but then I read your wonderful contributions to the story. Is that something that would affect you negatively? Would you mind if people like myself took things from these abandoned structures with the intention to repair, restore, and redistribute to people who will give them new life? Your honest feelings on this subject would be very much appreciated by me. Thank you!

    Enjoy your work of exploring abandoned places, but you really need to take along someone (or pass your edit past them) that was alive when these places were populated and vibrant. At the community center, you didn't recognize the room with the piano was the dance hall. It's obvious to anyone who lived back in those times. You said the bed in the old house seemed small. The bed was the size of the old original double beds for couples. You didn't recognize the object in the corner of the bedroom as an open-hearth gas heater, which were ubiquitous in homes back in those days. I could go on with many examples from this and other videos. -- Your work would just be much more interesting and enjoyable if you had the assistance of someone old enough to know the areas you explore.

      You're watching a video about an old abandoned town. What exactly did you expect to see?

    You are trespassing. For your info you do not have to post a sign . Get off other people's property

      M Steen the community center and graveyard are public property.. the abandoned cabins are literally 15ft from the main roads through the area.. im fairly certain whatever you are worried about isnt relevant to anyone but yourself..

      You couldn't be more wrong. If it's not posted, no permission is required to enter. Legally, if the previous owners defaulted on their property taxes (which we can reasonably assume), then it is owned by the county. If the county doesn't post the property, then its fair game.
      By the way, is it your property?
