- #3 My third video! Thank you for watching.
The boards are made of maple in the center and two strips of cherry bordered by walnut. The surface is planed to 5/8" thick and the rails are
3-3/8". They feature a slide chamber in the back for bag storage. The logo is for A Buck or Two Whitetails. View their impressive whitetails on facebook!
Comments welcome! Thank You.

WOW WOW WOW!!! Those boards look incredible! Really nice work!!!
Thank you
Great work and great video and editing!
Very nice work and real cool vodeo.
Amazing work, and I got a kick out of the chicken that walked through
Yes, that is Meatball. Our most curious chicken who fears nothing.
Beautiful work!
Thank you!
Pulls out a jar of moonshine for the finish, nice work! 👍
Thank you very much!
😂
Very classy. I saw the reply of 260$ for a set. You could easily make 6 cutting boards from that wood and get 200 each.
Dannggggg. That looks good.
Too bad I don't have a planer :(
Thank you!

Really nice work! What top coat did you use? Looked like Arm-R-Seal by the color?
Thank you! The finish is Minwax gloss oil based polyurethane.
So what is the thing in the middle of the board on the back for that slides back and forth
Bag storage compartment.
what's the liquid the you putting last
It's gloss polyurethane. Thank you for watching!
where are u located and how much to build 1 for me
I've done a few for people. Was doing them for $230 but the price of stuff during covid has driven my cost up so I would need to get $260 for a set like this. I'm located in northern lower Michigan.
@@sawdustandslivers4102 thx for the video awesome!
Have you ever had any issues with the hardwood wood movement being an issue with the solid wood construction vs plywood? I would love to do a beautiful inlay set, which would require hardwood, but was always concerned about the wood movement destroying the boards. Especially since they're usually subject to a multitude of different temperatures and humidity levels by nature.
Great question, thank you! I have built a bunch of these now, my first set was 6 years ago. I live in Michigan where we have vastly changing temperature and humidity. At one point I did some with just 2 coats of water based poly on the back side since I had less concern about wear and tear on the rear of the boards. On a few of those I did have some split especially when I used 9 inches or larger single panels during construction. On all the sets that I covered in 3 or more coats of oil based poly none have experienced any issues with wood movement since the boards are virtually sealed from any rapid changes in moisture content. I leave my personal set (which was the first set I built) in an unheated shed through all seasons including winter and have no issues at all.
Also if you haven't seen my other cornhole board video you may like to check it out. It is made segmented pieces of hardwood. ua-cam.com/video/pXtrm4bx3hM/v-deo.html
Treat it like a table top, or the top of a coffee table. I attached mine with buttons. You could use z clips or fig 8s but since it's going to be carried around a lot I custom made large buttons and used those. They are definitely strong enough for a lifetime of use. I got a little more fancy and did a hand dovetailed frame and put a brace across the middle using a dado. I made the frame using 3/4 lumber so there was enough thickness to cut the slots in the frame for the buttons to go in to.
