Hope yours will be great to enjoy it, still one of my favorites. Light weight, ergonomic slim shape and something special with thus pickups... I would call it they are focused :)

At last! A straight video of the guitar from all angles and close up. No self indulgent banter. Well done man. I have been considering getting a HB for a while now but the recurring comment in their own website reviews is about minor finish flaws. Yours looks superbly finished. I'm now going to check your video with the sounds. If it sounds as good as it looks I will be sorely tempted.

Hi Ian, with the finish I would call it luck, some will have minor paint issues... others not. More important to be aware doing a setup of the guitar, might be that intonation is not proper or action quite high. Otherwise you could be disappointed. Lets say some minor finish flaws in areas you not direct see is less bad then a not good setup for playabillity.

Hi Fritz, I don't mind set up flaws as long as they can be corrected within the adjustment provided. For example: I don't want to have to remove and re-drill the bridge just to be able to intonate. I don't mind doing a bit of fretwork or changing a nut but it's cracks in the surface of the fretboard, cut or uneven binding or paint flaws that I don't want as these things require major repairs which make the guitar non cost effective. When you're on a tight budget you consider these things. My preference is Ibanez but this R-446 comes in some unique colours (I favour the plum metallic!) And I really like the chamfering all around the top edges. HB are slowly finding their own identity and the sooner they change the rinky-dink American-ish brand name the better.

Hi Ian, got your point. Should fullfill your requirements. Intonation you might see in close up VIEW movie, saddle for low E is almost at it´s limit. I play in D or drop C and this still works. 10-52 string gauges. Only point regarding paint I found on the neck, some areas felt raw and I sanded them with 300 grid. Area was from the 5th fret to the 1st. You can buy the same guitar twice and they will be different unfortunatley.

i´m still a little sceptic in case of hb. this one seems to be an ibanez rg kinda model. ich had a telecaster for 170 and it looked great and everything but the tuners were pure sh*t and the pickups were even bigger sh*t but i also know they are getting better and better ;)

I had similar issues and doubts, from all HB guitars ordered, I returned also some, cause of quality issues or function issues. If you are from germany or europe they have great customer service and you can return without problem. This R-446 I ordered twice (DHL delayed my delivery over 2 weeks and so I already considered 1st guitar as lost :-)), one b-stock and one regular and final kept the regular one and returned b-stock. Main reason was the sound difference for me. Clear do not expect wonders from R-446 (still not sure to change or not change the pickups).
