That little police officer was amazing running up and down beside your wagon keeping the traffic moving safely she deserves a massive shout out bless her heart
Top job on recovering the land rover and top job to shane for filming with the amazing angles. Looked very tricky but yet again you smashed to get it out of there
You are awesomely AmaZing as ever, Greg ! That was a nasty collision with the farmers deep field😯🤦♀️ Hope who was driving the car 🚗 / passengers were all ok? Great work from Staffordshire Police in their assistance:-)👍👏
Hi greg, absolutely loved this one,you as always show how professional you are and how respectful you are to the vehicle, the public, the police and the farmer by trying to collect as much rubbish as you could, glad the lovely police officer turned up and was helpful and didn't turn up with attitude so 👏👏to her, great camera work aswell greg, cheers👍
Greg Liam here in Ireland done an excellent job on that light the way you performed it hope nobody was hurt please God Excel about I'm hoping to be watching more of them
Lucky It hadn't got a ton of potentially explosive and toxic battery! However THAT might have just meant an ash pan and brush instead.Lovely spot, but it does have it's share of overspeed numpties. Nice Work.
I saw that on its side on the 14th Feb. It was there when I passed at 6am, still 9am and again at 12pm but you'd removed it before 4.30pm. Had to check my Dashcam as I passed it at 6am and never saw it. It was a horrid morning. Plus the road was flooded about 50 yards up. It's been flooding there quite badly with the recent weather.
Yes was on valentines day thats it! , Think we were there about an hour in total, yes i was told it had aqua planned and thats why it happened. Who knows!
Great recovery Greg. I was thinking similar plan of action to you. It can’t have been far from rolling over. A proper challenge to test your skills! Shame the cars a mess as it’s a nice car. Love the videos and great job from camera man!
Jobs like this is where the little 4t " come-along " hand winch ( like a mini tifor winch ) i carry comes in handy , could have put a strap through the rear wheel and to one of the tie downs on the bed and pulled the thing over as it was winched on .( creates a V from the car to the bed as a seperate redirect for the main winch ) Plus it would hold it while repositioning the main winch cable . An underated piece of equipment , possibly because they are cheap yet they come in handy . Shovel wise i carry a Lidl 6ft handle stainless one , it's shape lets you scrape the surface and the long handle keeps you upright it's good for getting in under cars stuck in the mud as well . And i swapped from the axle straps to a set of J hooks on chains after having a few of the straps cut through on the pressed steel A arms with the spot welded seam sticking out around them . Alloy arms just need a webbing strap saver slipping over the jook to stop it damaging the alloy . And when you put the strap behind the wheel you really should have used the next tie down along and come up along across the front of the wheel so the strap went behind and out then back across to the front tie down , how you did it could see the car pulled across and off the bed iff the other side strap failed .
Hi Greg, just watched the video you did just great on that recovery just having a tilt and slide also the vehicle at that angle that really was a job for a hiab recovery but you did a great job having what you had hats off to you and the road you were on made it more diffuclt but the police officer helped with that👍👍
It took the police a while for them to come and help you, plus I noticed that there was no ‘police aware notice’ on the car which was in the ditch, as they could have number of calls from the public saying there is car in ditch. Plus I wonder which ‘emergency services uses the green and white tape which was around on the car ?
Evening hope your well! Ahh amazing! I really appreciate you coming back and watching! Yeah its good and feels more rewarding when people comment and watch them etc! Dont know if theres much growing left but hey see what happens! GDB
Excellent & well executed recovery. Barr an unforeseen circumstance, i.e. vehicle mechanical failure or a sudden incapacitation of the driver, but if one drives at the permissible speed of the road & is fully paying attention, how do you drive off the road & end up in a ditch…..speeding or not paying attention?
I always found slippery jims a complete waste of my time. Sodding things took too long to install and always came adrift. Winch 1 foot, stop to hammer back in, winch 1 foot, stop to hammer back in, winch 1 foot, stop to hammer back in..... Wherever possible, I used a couple of large sheets of polypropylene (about the size of a McDonalds tray). Much larger surface area to spread the weight. I hit the edges with a blow torch and bent a 2 inch perimeter upwards so that it would ride over most stuff. Eventually, I did a version 2 with some tie-down loops so that I could winch directly from the sheet - That really helped with lowered and supercars.
@@GDBRescueandrecovery For future reference they stopped building the Discovery 4 in 2016. These are very different from the previous separate chassis versions and usually referred to as Discovery 5 (though I don’t think Land Rover do).
Is this what they mean by off road driving in one of those things! 😄 . Great job done there, I was wondering if that would come out of that steep incline without the Hiab 🤔- that was an amazing result! 👏.
The cars probably a total scrapper, but great to see how you were still as careful as you could be with it. And top marks for tidying up the soil on the road, collecting the bits of bumper etc - going the extra mile 👍👍👍
How are you finding the EV vehicles with them being heavier to sort out on call outs? Just curious if it affects jobs and if you have to get stronger equipment?
In some US states SUVs have a sticker to remind drivers they are prone to rolling over. Not so in the UK. Drivers of such vehicles, with their windows wound down have been known to lose arms when they flap through the window before being crushed and dragged.
Yo Yoo hope your good! Thanks for tuning in as always! , Haha! Yeah was OK! Will get video out sometime next week hopefully! Lots on the LIST at moment!!
"Used Land Rover Discovery Sport 2.0 D180 R-Dynamic HSE 5dr at Stafford Land Rover" Stafford Land Rover 1 month ago. Oops, it was a nice car before the crash
For the next time you have run out of choke straps, just use a shackle. Soft shackles are possibly the best but steel ones are fine. Worked for me when I used to move agricultural equipment around the country.
Take the twist out of your strops before tightening, sweep the load bed before driving away: Loose debris can fall off and damage vehicles, or hurt other road users and pedestrians.
It seems you’ve already pulled a small car out of this spot, I think it was an Aygo Toyota. Doris even called the police because you blocked the road. 🚗🚦
Personally I would of took the disco too and used the winch to not only steady the vehicle abit but also to drag the front end over. Would of got it out alot quicker IMO 👌
If only i had another staff member in recovery i would of done, and charge a 2nd call out etc and would help with traffic etc, but unfortunately i cant find anybody suitable for the job, hence selling the landrover, else i would 100 percent be keeping her! GDB
@GDBRescueandrecovery don't you have the missus standing there watching/filming 🤔 remember, work smarter not harder 👀😉 you could of took it on the back with you and used both vehicles to assist then had her drive it back like you did when you got the truck 👌 I saw one of your first videos of when you grew the business and I'm not sure but maybe you grew too quickly, I don't know 🤷♂️ but you've just got to find the reliable/trustworthy staff that knows what it's like to run a business and that want to look after you and help you succeed 🙏 it's just about finding the right candidate and what works for you. I'm starting up vehicle transport in doncaster and I'm super excited about doing so 🙌🙏👌❤️ never know may end up in rescue at some point. I love seeing the disco set up, makes me want one 🤣
So much pressure to get the job done with glowering motorists looking on, as though it's your fault!!! Was there a reason not to pop the air bags with a penknife etc to gain easier access into the veh to disengage gears etc?
Certainly but you have to see past it etc, i did close it then quick winch, then allow traffic past whilst repositioning etc dont like holding people up for the sake of if, unfortunately couldnt find the key so stayed in park. Cheers GDB
They up everybody’s premiums to pay for this standard of driving. itll be on a forecourt soon i imagine.. Whys my car walking like a crab?its only 4 years old.. they normally cover up the registration plate..after nasty accidents for some reason..its only done average mileage..
how somebody could do that to a landrover I do not know they should take more care I bet they had the foot down around the corners I could cry another landrover going to the scrap yard in the sky
That little police officer was amazing running up and down beside your wagon keeping the traffic moving safely she deserves a massive shout out bless her heart
how incredibly patronising
Thanks Greg. You are the hardest working one man recovery operation on UA-cam. The camera man did a great job capturing all the action.
Evening Thanks for the watch and the kind comment! I only do UA-cam for people like you and others to watch and enjoy! GDB

See, not just a Chelsea tractor, they CAN go off road! 😂 I could feel the pressure of that traffic through the lens. Great video as always Greg.
Just got into recovery 3 weeks in great to watch these videos for tips and ideas how to get proper stuck stuff out! cheers
Ah sweet hopefully you will learn a thing or two! Stay safe GDB
That one looked dodgy... good use of the roll-back getting positioned. Wonderful police officer managing the traffic on that busy narrow road.
Well, what a good video to end the week on
