Cannot believe your selling the Disco, content is quality with this. Its been more interesting watching you overcome jobs with the Disco than any flatbed work......such a shame as she looks great at night with the lights etc. Still good content anyway mate.
Evening! Yeah not going to be needed as much soon when i get the dodge ram 4x4 back with century gear and the transit county 4x4 with spec lift. Rather use the money into something else where possible. Thanks for tuning in! GDB
You’re a braver man than me relying on that screw in eye to do a kinetic recovery - I was waiting to see the whole lot head through your back window! Thankfully you got away with it.
Certainly, digging ground out and using boards takes alot of that initial dead weight out, rather than just bang and pull it. How would you of recovered that car? Bearing in mind if you went off the wishbone / lower arms theres a massive chance of ripping that front bumper straight off… Be interesting to hear your response GDB
@@GDBRescueandrecovery Definitely digging out as you did, the track mats made a huge difference to the load resistance. I would have been tempted to double line pull with the winch - would have indeed tried the towing eye you used but with a winch blanket on the line (assuming steel winch wire) or a secondary safety line onto the snatch block to stop the recoil. The forces in a kinetic recovery can be quite frightening, seen a lad nearly wiped out by a Landrover bumper years ago which took half of the rotten dumb irons with it!
@@roddyk05 yeah sometimes i do put something over the winch line, subject to where i am what the job is, interesting comment, And noted! Yeah ive seen them to and tow eyes smashing through windscreens etc. I do normally winch most things.. but past experience the tesla may of just stayed sunk in the grass and keep churning the field up untill it met hard ground again. Thanks for the comment! GDB
Good recovery with the kinetic...never knew about a winch tow keeping it in a trench. I belive that REME have charts to tell you what force and equipment you need to recover what weight of bogged vehicle.
IVR have a chart for free online. If you are in recovery you should defo have had someone show you it? It's not a massively hard calc to do, just make sure you use worst case scenario, don't be optimistic and don't forget the WLL of the equipment your using.
The AA no longer covers these sort of jobs which is correct why should a breakdown company cover these type of situation, also THE AA terms and conditions states on public highway this is this guy personal issue this is not a road. Shouldn’t have attended to begin with
Most of the members who I had to refuse service to in similar jobs, had been told by the sale's operative; we would cover ANY emergency as the 4th emergency service!
The AA don’t cover you getting stuck, it’s not a breakdown 😂 also like the RAC and most Green Flag vans only have a 2t winch in the back for the trailer 😂
Drive through a field to do a job get stuck deep in mud then called The AA get real pal, The AA shouldn’t have attended to begin with, his own fault this is not a breakdown is it, then when a genuine breakdown happened The AA takes forever to get to you because of none breakdowns like these
You are just so awesome & amaZing, Greg! The county of Staffordshire must be very proud of YOU ! Wish you were in Hampshire!!!!! We would welcome you with open arms!!!! 😀 Stafford are so lucky they have YOU! Staffordshire's LIVE MASCOT!!!😂 Fantastic work as always, Greg. You work tremendously hard. Hope you are getting use to your 'new' flatbed recovery vehicle. Not a chance to 'sleep' on it!!!!😂 Keep Safe & Well:-)
Buddy awsome job . There is always alot of debate with the whole electric car recovery situation , so no doubt the keyboard warriors will be out in force . But honestly mate well done , on the humour side have you thought of entering the ploughing contests at country shows . Great video as usual keep up the good work and keep safe . All the best Mark and Emily at Rooster Recovery
nice job XD we have the same JD mower but without the collection bag... there's a free wheel pin that you can pull up behind the seat which makes it roll easy can push it by hand without the engine.
Thanks for the watch! Yeah these things happen live and learn all part of life eh, if had mud terrains may of got away but there one hell of a heavy lump! GDB

@@GDBRescueandrecovery no worries, I enjoy all your videos, I done heavy recovery during my apprenticeship and done a bit of recovery of trains in my current role, we use jacks and wheel skates when trains have wheel defects
Fantastic job greg and good of you to get the offending mower out aswell😂the bloke seemed a decent bloke aswell even if he owns a tesla🤔🤣nice one greg👍
Too many people believe that a 4X4 is the answer to mud and snow. The thing is, most are sold with summer tyres. Summer tyres are naff in mud and snow.
The client with the old “that was easy” yeah it was because of the years of experience and prep to do the job and £1000’s worth of equipment, that’s what you’re paying for
Very true very true! Happens so often these days with 4 wheel drive vehicles, especially when running normal road tyres. What a difference it makes when you run mud terrains i know that much! If i had my all terrains i dont think i would of got as close as i did. GDB
Yep all terrain are good but had low profiles on the golf never got stuck just didn’t have a lot of ground clearance lived in remote Scotland then. Nice work you do.
lucky that AA guy didn't rip the front of the car off using that. Why would anyone use that for towing let alone a so called professional. Had the AA etc out here for cars that get flooded on the quay car park. All they ever do is disconnect the battery and say call your insurers. AA/RAC both useless, supposed to reach Motability customers in 45 mins its been over 3 hours every time
I work in grounds and garden maintenance and I've never known ground conditions be as wet for so long. I've lost count of the times we've nearly been stuck in the last 6 months and thats with tractors and 4x4 pickups. I thought I'd made the wrong decision putting BF Goodrige Muds on my Hilux as the noise they make on motorways is horendus but in hindight with how wet it's been I'm glad i I got them. We frequentley use a Tirfor winch in tree work which is a really usefull piece of kit if you've got a decent anchor point or want to extend the range of a vehicle winch, do you ever use anything like a Tirfor winch ?
What a surprise. Epic fail by tesla again 😂 land rover to the rescue as usual. Nothing beats a landy, especially offroad. Cant believe your selling it. Your most interesting recoveries are offroad with thay disco 4, never lets us down to see a good recovery 😂
I thoroughly dislike Tesla for many reasons but I fail to see how this is a Tesla epic fail? The only epic fail was the owner putting a 2.5 ton vehicle in a soggy field. AWD on an EV is never going to be as good as a landrover style. Besides did you miss the bit where Mr GDB says he often gets stuck, is that an epic fail by landrover?
You wreaked his lawn and you did everything to cover yourself.... sort of guy who makes excuses and tries to gas light customers into thinking if there is a problem it is not your fault because you warned them about the possible issues without giving the customer an alternative. For example, why did you turn the car round on his lawn when you could have turned the car round outside and reversed in? Why could you just use a longer rope and this would have negated all the mess you made going on to his lawn? Even if you didn't have a long enough kinetic rope you could have used a normal tow rope or chain to extended it. Sorry, you are worse nightmare, not because your work is poor, but because you are always shirking your own responsibility.

Best Greg rescue ever. One hit. Boom. Well played sir.
This was great, like going on a real adventure. That linetic rope looks brilliant... the amazing Rubber Band powered Tesla.
You’re a braver man than me relying on that screw in eye to do a kinetic recovery - I was waiting to see the whole lot head through your back window! Thankfully you got away with it.
Yeah, those little things are only meant for towing when all the wheels are loose on flat ground

Was waiting for the battery to go flat on that tesla with how many times the keyless locks were going with door mirrors going.
Informative video.
Didn't doubt you 1 hit put in a good amount of prep and it paid right off!
Its one thing i learnt years ago, more preperation better the first pull!
@GDBRescueandrecovery applies to everything in life well where possible.
Great video knowledge is key
Generally with these models, when you put it into 'dance mode', the falcon doors wiggling all over the place and can help to get it out of the mud.
Garlic bread is the future not electric cars!
That is a good idea 😂 might try it on the next one haha GDB
My lawnmower is still tucked up in the shed and that’s only a push job! Ground is way to wet for mowing and I’m down south
Done plenty like this in a t5 t6 4motion between 2015-2021 no issue.
Your a top bloke Greg
Have you thought of getting an Unimog? 😅 versatile and unstoppable 😅

To be fair, any vehicle with road tyres is going to struggle with how boggy that was. Off road or mud tyres and it would have been fine.

Lets face it a road 4x4 with road tyres and with a half-tonne battery slung under it on muddy grass..... It was only going to end in one way!
Yes teslas shouldn't be offroad or on road tbf. Best place for them is the scrapper 😂 leave the offroading to the land rovers 😂
