This video just shows people you don't need £100K fancy specialist vehicles to do recovery jobs. It is all about the operators knowledge and strong equipment. All round decent bloke doing work at decent prices.👍
Thanks pal, hope you're well
@SleafordRecovery I am muddling on, thanks Ben. How long now until we see the inside of the new unit and congrats on getting more subscribers👍
Great job mate you made it look easy 👍
@@Fighting_Torque will this repair or be written off
Have a look at "Florida offroad recovery" I can't believe what this guy gets out. How do people get in predicaments like this one with so much room to turn around also she could have driven the thing home cheers.
Well done. It's nice to see someone who takes pride in their work.
I sure do, treat the cars like they're my own
And does not give a fuck about the law
You’re so much more watchable and less irritating than another certain recovery UA-cam channel 😂 keep up the good work! Subscribed!
Thanks for the feedback! Really appreciate it
The problem of driving in fog with modern cars is most have automatic lights. The auto sensors register darkness, not visibility, and it isn't dark enough. A lot of people don't know where the switch/lever to turn the lights on manually
That's exactly the issue mate. Nailed it
I do
Great to see someone take great care of the car. Slow and steady not doing further damage, well done. Great to see, careful considered winching.
Thanks mate
This is the first Sleaford Recovery video I’ve seen. I love the thoughtfulness , logical thinking and obvious abundance of skills.
And living in Sleaford myself I feel reassured that you guys are out there looking out for us.
Great pull, and great treatment of the stranded vehicle with no extra damage.
Subscribed and can’t wait for more videos!!
Ah thank you mate, really appreciate your support 😊
The patience, expertise and professionalism show by you in all these videos is fantastic. As others have said, just shows you don't need a £100k wagon to hiab it out...
Cracking job matey 🦆🦆
Thanks mate, appreciate that
Really excellent. A textbook lesson in leverage and how to apply force in the correct manner. Well done!
Ah thank you, appreciate your comment
A nice and clean job. Also today I learned that patience and some wood can save ppl from a lot of damage. Thanks.
Any time mate
I really appreciate watching someone who knows their job doing it professionally. You really nailed it once again!
Try my best mate, thanks
This is a perfect, carefully thought out recovery of a vehicle in an awkward situation x
Thanks mate
She was really lucky. If she had gone with the RAC, she would still be waiting 😂 good video and well done 👏
Thanks mate, appreciate your comment
Brilliant job. After your comment about find a farmer, I had visions of Mr Hewes ripping it out with his foden tank recovery truck😂😅
Ha ha yeah totally
That was fecking impressive pal I’ll give you that.
When I saw the photo I was thinking “how T F is he gonna pull that without ripping the wheel off?”
Nice one man. 👌🏻
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it
Very well done, I work for the largest breakdown and recovery company in the UK, (small van)I see this type of issue regularly and struggle to deal with these scenarios with my onboard kit, that's a great way to tackle a job like that with the equipment you have, congrats on your care taken.
Ah thank you mate, appreciate that. Stay safe out there
Must be the most professional recovery guy in Britain!! Nobody would take that much time and care to recover a vehicle. Fair play pal
I'm sure there's plenty that would. Sometimes though it's easy ti shrug when a car gets further damage and just say "nothing I could do".
Nice recovery mate, man's got skills. I'm truck driver & also get pissed off with peps not using the heads lights in the fog think they forget the the auto function only works for dark conditions not fog, to lazy to turn switch on.
Totally agree mate, I've had to come up with coping mechanisms to not let it piss me off 😂
Genuine person , i wish you well, the world needs more like you👍
Ah thank you mate, I do try and wear my heart on my sleeve
Nicely done mate, good to see someone caring for there customers motor, even after the damage they already done
Always mate
Another successful recovery. Nice one Ben. One very lucky lady 😁
Thanks Emma
excellent video ....nice to see a recovery operator taking care with with a customers car .. awsum job ....
Thank you, customers cars get treated like they're my own
Cracking effort Ben. Watched it with our 2 year old (also a Benjamin) who couldn't take his eyes off the "big truck." 😂💪
Ha nice one mate, sorry about the language, they're not normally like this 😂
No one got hurt that's the most important thing. Job well done Ben and Ronnie 👍
He's a top lad
@@Fighting_Torque most definitely. Both work well with each other
Well, except for a bruised ego, I'm sure! 😂
Cracking job Ben that was a good test of the skills! Best part for the customer is that because of the approach you took her car looks none the worse for its trip off the edge of that bridge 👌
Yeah exactly, it's easy to just hook up and pull but I like to make sure no more damage occurs
Well done on a great recovery. You sussed out the dynamics that would affect the car while winching, especially the hub below parapet level would likely rip the wheel/suspension off. As soon as I saw the position of the car, I thought "he's going to have to use a jack to get it up and over the wall". Good job!
Cheers mate, really appreciate that
I really enjoy these sort of winchouts, I have a degree of winching knowledge from running tractor mounted forestry winches but no auto experience. Quite fun pauseing the video and trying to work out how you will do it.
Ah that's cool. Glad you enjoyed it mate
That was an AWESOME video Ben, thank you very much for your efforts. Thoroughly enjoyed watching the technical aspect of the recovery. Superb 😎😎😎😎😎
Glad you enjoyed it!
Looks like the kind of scenario we get on a recovery training day. Good work. Nice jack action
Thanks 👍
Truly terrifying how close she got to disaster - great use of physics, multiplication of force...you're a great teacher.
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed joyed it
That was very impressive. I couldn't see how you were going to be ale to get that out of there with doing some serious damage to the fuel tank. Obviously Malcolm was the mastermind behind the scenes telling you what to do. Shame you didn't let him do the editing as well. Worth the wait though, good job Ben..
Ha ha I wish someone would do my editing 😂
portable air bags. like some garages use. support the front. gently roll forward. the air bags rolling under the chassis. for minimal undercarriage damage.
Yeah they're great aren't they
They usualy say if you fall off a horse you need to get back on one. I guess you've just done the winching version of that. Well done buddy.
Have you ever used an exhaust jack? Would have worked a treat on the drivers side and not needed your planks as you can roll over them. I've had one for years, last time I used it I pushed a tree away from the side of my Land Rover after it slid sideways.
I haven't mate no, I'll take a look!
It’s something I’ve lately been looking at getting for my off-road recoveries. 👍🏽😎
@@bcp_towing There are some that can be connected to an air line as well as exhaust. I would imagine that they can be a little less messy to use.
@@m1cxf thanks that’s true. Would a air compressor for airing up your tyres be powerful enough to work the air bag. ?
Probably, although I think it would rely more on volume than pressure so could take a while. Mine doesn't have that facility or I would try it and let you know.@@bcp_towing
Nice work! One lucky customer in more ways than one.
Thank you 😊
Top job Ben, good to see you confidently used your winch and had no issues. Great technique and Ronnie did the rest ! 👍🏽😎
He's a top lad that truck
Fantastic job m8,slow n steady No damage Well done, hoping get back on with my new body fitting next week, having withdrawal systems 😂
Sounds good mate 👍
Great skill, Ben. Slow and steady, with a great deal of experience- well done
Thanks mate
Good work mate, very clever pull and great outcome.
RAC are sh!te left me high and dry 200 miles from home and didnt bother telling me for 4 hours
Jesus that's not good!
We always use the hole in the shackle to wire the pin in place on more permanent uses. If it was tight we would use a spanner on the flats to loosen it.
Yeah tbh I have a pair of Mole grips in my locker that I use in the same way as you described.
Fab vid Ben, you're braver than most getting in that when it was still dangling! Really good insight into your technique too👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks mate, I wasn't getting in it until it was on my winch though 😂
You're a natural at this Ben, keep it up!! Great job too. Really, you had me at 'f***in hate cyclists!
I debated whether to leave that in for ages 😂
@@Fighting_TorqueDo you hate the same people when they're driving their cars?
I suppose it would depend on how they're driving, doesn't it?
@iamaduckquack OK, so you use logic if someone is driving a car, but outright hate anyone just because they're riding a bike. Makes sense.
@@MsPinkwolf That's not what I said, silly. Nice mental gymnastics thought 👍
I love watching professionals at work.😀 the puffing and panting says it’s hard work but you make it look easy.
It’s more like art than engineering.😀
Thanks mate, yeah I maybe need to edit out the puffing ha ha
Ben, you never cease to amaze me, fella, top job rescuing that car and without causing any additional damage. Keep up the good work! 👏👏👏
Cheers pal
A guardian Angel must have been watching over her reversing off the bridge into the ditch! Well done with the rigging Ben and understanding the extreme forces if the center of the axel wasn't above the bridge deck. You get a sub for that.
Thanks mate, really appreciate that
😂great video once again keep up the great work.
You was saying in one of your past videos about subscribers saying for some reason UA-cam keeps unsubscribing them.
I have noticed it’s done it to me a few times now …..?I have to keep re subscribing 😮
UA-cam told me they deffo don't do that...but there's so many of you in the same position, its weird
It was worth the wait I kept refreshing last night waiting for the upload, better late than never
Yeah sorry mate, I was out til 10pm, only finished the editing gone midnight. Ah well its out now, cheers for commenting
Alright, mate. I'm just dropping you a comment to say... I haven't searched or watched any videos like this on UA-cam, but somehow this popped up on my home page, and I'm glad it did. I love your style and humor. The way you recovered that vehicle was spot on and exactly how it should be done. I'd also like to say that I generally don't subscribe to channels often (go ahead and shoot me now), but I'm giving this one a sub. Keep up the good work!
Really appreciate that pal, thank you. It's strange how youtube seems to have suddenly started pushing my channel onto people.
@SleafordRecovery I'm not complaining buddy, I've been off work with a broken hip (came off a motorbike) but I've binged watched all your videos lol
Your video popped up on suggested video's and gave it a watch and loved it. Very professional job and great attitude, so I decided to subscribe. Keep up the good work. 👍
Thank you mate, welcome to the team!
Great job Ben. Still looking happy. Onwards and Upwards
Thanks pal, trying my best
Great video Ben as always.
That lady was 1 lucky cookie.
Normally them ditches are full in winter they are around Kings Lynn area lucky girl.
Hope she's learned just turn around on the road back into the junction and never go into field gate ways.
Expecially around Norfolk or Lincolnshire.
I've recovered few from ditches all done the same thing sadly.
Everyone learns from mistakes.
Time for a cuppa Tea 🍵 ❤
Yeah you're right you see them a lot in both counties. Stay safe my man
@@Fighting_Torque Be safe 🙏
Well done mate. Kept your nerve and did a very professional job. Happy days.👍

Well done Ben, great recovery, and great watch. ;-)
Glad you enjoyed it, could have been boring but tried to enhance it a little in the edit
What a moater, a bridge too !
Well done Ben.
Great video, I love watching the technical recoveries.
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow what a brilliant bit of physics and geometry Ben. I don't remember you getting those qualifications at Uni 😂😂😂
It's because you were always drunk 🥴
Probably.
Skill, patience and understanding right there!💪
Thanks pal
Nice work 👊 took patience and skill. RAC wanted paying? I've got them🤔
Cheered me up as ever, thank you.
Yeah they changed the policy a while ago now, any accident is chargeable and they are far from reasonably priced
the thinking on shackles has changed recently, not sure how recent though. Went to Brize Norton, many years ago, to do an underslung lifting course, closest thing found to lifting tackle inspection, when under strain, the pin tightens and will not come loose, but was corrected, to your way, in the last couple of years.
Yeah, I actually watched a video where they tested the breaking strain of shackles when done tight or backed off, it's only 3-5% less but the backed off ones always failed first
Great video style and great recovery technique!
Glad you're enjoying it. Thanks for commenting
Think the lady needs to buy a lottery ticket , she was very lucky, another great video ben
Thanks 👍
Funny guy, great recovery, love the chat too...Subscribed!! All the best...Steve
Thanks mate, really appreciate that
Just watched this from the "sunshine" mate. Passed the time on a Friday nights shift. Big love. Kept me smiling. Great job. (Dinger)
Cheers pal, hope you're well, give my best to the lads
Great job done with care. I have done this twice, once pulled out of mountain ditch by tractor. This almost pulled my car apart. The other time I went over a very high kerb and got stuck on sill. ( wheels in the air) Got out pushed car off kerb and jumped back in as my car was going down hill. Never again.
Ha ha, learn from your mistakes, common theme on this channel mate
Fantastic work, so much care taken to minimise any further damage 👍
That's what it's all about 😊
Brilliant vid Ben, really enjoyed the explanations for the winch out
Thanks mate
ben you are a knight of the road and affordable your tenacity is your strength well done

Great video again. Love the technical ones. Keep up the good work. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks mate 👍
My first truck was a merc like that, with a dyson slider on it. Good times! I miss doing jobs like this 😢
Yeah I wish I could do more of them. My favourite jobs are winch outs that the customer wants to drive after so I don't have to load/unload 😂
Excellent my mate, good job you've got a new subscriber 😊.
Thanks pal, really appreciate that
Well done Sir. The UK have a love of saying what if, what if. In this situation you are 100% right - chances of drowning in one foot of water and being towed out by a farmer or cowboy recovery driver, well then she'd be fecked both ways. If ever I was in a situation like that I'd love to have a legend like you attend.
Ah thanks mate, appreciate that
New here loved the video mate! I want to start a career in recovery and watching this is very eye opening!
