Its unfortunate, I have lived in NC my entire life and I did not know of Sylvan Esso untill like 4 years ago. Way tardy to the party. I have been to Shakori Hills grassroots festival here in NC several times but the first one I ever went to (mind totally blown honestly) someone was talking to me asking how I was enjoying my first shakori and how it was their like 10th plus shakori. They told me Sylvan Esso played the fest right before that current one and killed it, was life changing for them. I had just started listening to them shortly before that and was thinking that is so awesome wish i would have been there! As the years have passed, many shows and many fests later, the more I wish I really really had of been there.
I love that Amelia chose so much old folk music, you can really hear the influence in her singing it’s so spontaneously melodic and joyful, so much like old folk tunes. Loved this video.
the video sploosh was "wait damn is nick 7 feet tall or is amelia 4 feet?" and then remembering i've seen them in person and she's a short person always in thick heels and then forgetting i was watching the video at all but was thinking how much of a banger hey mami was.
No, it's been in fairly regular usage for most of the last decade, as it's the most widely-understood method of criticizing "arty" people who don't have anything to say.
@@stuartfishman1044 I didn't have a problem with their picks. They chose some good records. I just don't really see the point of the music they themselves make. It's just dull identikit US indie-rock. It's like listening to someone's hobby.
@@neonatalpenguin well . sometimes, hobby sounds WAY better, than major label pressured / rushed releases.. i fell in love with their music just recently (in europe, they are not really well known) and already have all studio albums now, because A LOT of their songs give me goosebumps.. btw.. why do you call it "US indie rock"? to me, the studio recordings are vocal electronic music.. i recommend to watch their concert film "with".. they perform with a full live band there and its just amazing.. maybe that changes your mind, maybe not.. in the end, we all have different tastes, and thats ok.. cheers!
She's the best. He's the best. They're both the best. Sylvan Esso's just the f**king best.

Amelia saying “I need food” in the end is a complete mood
I thought Sylvan Esso would probably have eclectic and really good taste and they did not disappoint.
That guy has very interesting taste in music. I'll have a listen at all albums mentioned.

Sylvan Esso LOVE LOVE LOVE this band :)
They seem like really fun people.

Just when I thought I couldn't love them any more, they go and profess their love for Madvillainy. These two are just the best :')
I met Amelia in a bar once she's so cool 🖤

Haven't thought about sea shanties for awhile, but I definitely need a sea shanty record! Thanks, Amelia!
They get the weirdest people to do whats in my bag. Its so great they have the weirdest taste
god what i'd do to stumble upon a cLOUDDEAD release in a store like that
I'm pretty sure I'd get along really well with Sylvan Esso irl.
"I need food" lol......Basically me when I catch myself in hour 4 of my digging excursions in Amoeba or any other good record store.
He reminds me so much of my high school prom date.
Love this band SE.
"I need food" When I'm on tour that's all I hear hahaha

I love the track (coffee) by them at the end of the video! =)

Dude rocking the Knxwledge shirt I see.
how are the features on ATLiens sketchy? Its just guys from Goodie Mob or Dungeon Family
yeah I didn't quite get what that was about.
He looks like domnall Gleeson from the film frank
the whitest music ever and then outkast out of nowhere. awesome.
blacksdocrack everybody loves Outkast.
TheAmazingAriel and Madvilliany Instrumentals by MadLib
blacksdocrack lots of people who don't really care about rap or hip hop like outkast and madvillian
3:37
Clouddead doesn't qualify as "white" music, imo. They're experimental hip hop.
My dads loves the songs but they’re so agist
Hating on Khujo Goodie
Anybody know what the song is at the beginning?
S1lkaG dreamy bruises - sylvan esso
What is The opening song introducing sylvan esso?
+Alexander reed dreamy bruises
How tall are they?!
does anyone know what song is being played during the intro?
Adrian omnomnom S1lkaG It's called Dreamy Bruises
what's the embarassing and sketchy guest verses on that ATLiens record?? wtf are they talking about ?
'Mainstream'
wats the song in the beginning?
Dreamy Bruises by Sylvan Esso :)
So she doesnt like Goodie Mobb??? Lost all respect
Hipster implosion.
nice gorgeous lady
Sigh...
The dude doesn’t look like he could grow that beard
These two seem like nice people. Feel like society needs to move on from semi-anonymous negligible hipster music though.
neonatalpenguin i thought the term "hipster" went out about 5 years ago...good gawd, please don't bring it back...so stupid
No, it's been in fairly regular usage for most of the last decade, as it's the most widely-understood method of criticizing "arty" people who don't have anything to say.
So unless all their picks are off of Spotify they must be hipsters?

I still can't believe how mediocre the new music scene is and how all these new bands think everything is so amazing. Well,it's not!
This kind of overly earnest and twee vibe is irritating as hell. The local college radio station called. They want their records back.
These people are the definition of insufferable.
