I think people felt a phony sense of "what, who me?" Despite the fact that she SHAMELESSLY campaigned for the Oscar, along with the sense she felt that she deserved it. Just not a strong category this particular year, I personally would've picked Jackie Weaver.
Who could hate her? She entertain us as a glamorous, femme fatale Cat Women and a tragic, poor Fantine in the same year. Two different role which is differ a mile stone. Successfully she pulled into her and gave a wonderful performance.
"The misfortunes of Fantine will only be found in stories, and never more in real life." I almost started crying. She's such an amazing actress, and actually the only Fantine that has ever made me sob during "I Dreamed A Dream". She absolutely deserved this award, because Fantine is one of the hardest roles to play, because of everything she goes through, and Anne portrayed her beautifully.

No you're not alone! I've admired her ever since I was a child and I continue to do so. All this stupid hatred towards another human being makes me so sad.

I now understand that around that time Anne was giving off a Theatre Kid complex and JLaw was giving off a “quirky/relatable” vibe, so they were both considered annoying. Fast forward to 2016. I think what I was trying to say was how could we not like someone who was enjoying their moment while praising someone who seemed incompetent or overrated, not necessarily taking down one woman while uplifting the other. Either way, I was 19 when I posted this and still had a lot to learn, and I’ll probably delete it lol.
I think supporting one woman is still possible without tearing down another, Sydney. And after seeing Lawrence in Winter's Bone and SLP, I strongly disagree on the "doesn't even try to act" part. Don't project your hate of public reception of an actress on the actress herself.
"Weakest supporting actress category in History. No Wonder Hathaway swept the awards." EXCUSE ME did you watch this woman in les miserable? She could run for best leading and easily sweep the awards.
I respect that she had a practiced speech. It's nice that some actors take the time to think about what they want to say instead of being like Jennifer Lawrence and making weird sounds, grunting, and stuttering. I don't think having a practiced speech makes you less genuine in any way.
***** Jennifer Lawrence is even more annoying. And her 'so real' appearance is TOTALLY fake and designed and it's working for teenagers and youngsters obsessed with her. Any sensible person could figure that out. I have no idea how some people support her. Have you heard what nonsense is she talking recently? Spare me please.
***** :)) Why do we need to pull out each other's hair? Well by obsessed youngsters I didn't mean you, you didn't sound obsessed to me at all. But I have seen this thing on internet. their way of expression and worshiping thing seems a little annoying to me. May be I was a little harsh but JLaw's "I'm so cool so everyone must love me' personality comes across a little designed to me, thats just my opinion.
A woman that loves herself and values herself and is not afraid to say "Hey. I worked my ass off. This is my moment. I'm going to celebrate it because I fucking well deserve it." Of course society is going to hate her for that. We'd much rather have women hating themselves.
It has nothing to do with her being a woman. She's just too full of herself. I was genuinely surprised by her performance, it was good. But every interview that she did she just kept pushing the fact that it was so hard and she had to sing live etc. Wow congrats you did what every stage actor does 8 times a week.
Oh my God. Until I read these comments below, I had no idea of this hatred for a fabulous actress and human being Anne Hathaway. What in the name of God possesses someone to say "She has an irritating face"? What fucked up human being even thinks of such a superficial way to describe someone? For the record folks, Anne Hathaway is viewed by the vast majority as an incredibly beautiful woman (myself included). She is a pure soul of great talent and beautiful human being. To the haters, go and look at yourself in the mirror and then spit at your own disfigured image and make yourself feel better.
+AntipodeanStar I think these people are acting out of anger. She is an incredibly beautiful actress and a worthy winner. Just not for this outrageously cringe-worthy and impotent performance. The Oscar should be given to her way back for her outstanding performance in Rachel Getting Married. Instead, Kate Winslet robbed her.
+AntipodeanStar I agree, there are other actresses and 'stars' who are really irritating, fake or haughty, and they are full of fan boys, I think we´re in a world where wayawrd and arrogant people is admired and prized. I can´t take it.
What? I don't get it. I just read an article saying how THIS speech got her in trouble with the public because I guess it was too rehearsed or phony? I truly thought the link was wrong, because this speech is not much different than all of the others we see, except, to me, this was MORE sincere.
same... super confused! it's not a groundbreaking speech, but 90% aren't. really, really strange article to read. why are people hung on a supporting actress speech from 4 years ago. move on..?
Wow, that speech was beautiful. Especially, "The greatest moment of my life was when you walked into it." to her husband, and the last part about Fantine's misfortune. Absolutely beautiful, and she is so humble and sweet. She deserved that so so much.
I think she honestly has the best acceptance speech of all time. She was gracious, kind, made it clear how much this meant to her AND she actually recognized women who actually live with struggles similar to what her character faced. 10/10!
How does this look fake , I don't get why some people hate her .I personally like her she's an amazing actress and she's funny .can someone explain me why people hate her.
The first line she said sounds very fake. "It came truuuue~". Because in the past, she cared so much how other people think about her, she tried harder to be likable and ended up in failure. She used to be fake, but not anymore. She now understands these stuffs deeply and mannage to changes into a new person. You can see her on Ellen show, talking about how she deal with cyber bullies. She said "I’ve realized that I don’t need validation from anybody. At all. I’m not sitting here now worrying, 'What do you think of me?' And that’s so liberating." So this makes her act more naturally.
I think she’s a good actress but she’s not likeable... she comes across as fake... and reminds me of those pretentious high school drama girls. That’s just the impression she gives off but she may very well be something completely other than that.
"I felt very uncomfortable," Hathaway recently confessed to The Guardian. "I kind of lost my mind doing that movie and it hadn’t come back yet." "Then I had to stand up in front of people and feel something I don’t feel, which is uncomplicated happiness," she explained. "It’s an obvious thing, you win an Oscar and you’re supposed to be happy. I didn’t feel that way. I felt wrong that I was standing there in a gown that cost more than some people are going to see in their lifetime, and winning an award for portraying pain that still felt very much a part of our collective experience as human beings." "I tried to pretend that I was happy and I got called out on it, big time. That’s the truth and that’s what happened. It sucks." "What you learn from it is that you only feel like you can die from embarrassment," she said. "You don’t actually die."
Yeah that's very normal in my opinion. She was overwhelmed and in those moments you freeze and can't quite feel anything, but you have to be grateful to those who helped you achieve success, so you can't stand there with a bitchy, uninterested attitude. I think she was humble and gracious, and she's right about the Oscars. Being idolized for simply doing her job right, while most people struggle with shitty lives and get no recognition or help...the narcissism in the entertainment industry is incredible.
I just love what she said in the end "I hope that some day in the not so distant future, the misfortunes of Fantine will only be found in stories and never more in real life. And I think it was very thoughtful of her to have an acceptance speach practiced beforehand, it shows how much serious she takes the awards.
I haven't seen Les Miserables in it's entirety, but from what I've seen of her in the movie I thought she was incredible and I felt she earned this award. I've always liked Anne Hathaway, she's grown so much as an actress and I can't wait to see her in Interstellar :)
“Here’s hoping that someday in the not too distant future the misfortunes of Fantine will only be found in stories and nevermore in real life. Thank you.” POWERFUL.
By the way, sincerely, I don't care if there are few people that don't like her. They can say she's pretentious, boring or fake. But for me, she's not. I watched several interviews, behind the scenes, etc, and all I see is a polite, honest, intelligent, passionate for art and graceful woman that works very hard and, is a very versatile actress and is getting the deserved results for her efforts!
"Here is hoping that someday in a not too distant future, the misfortunes of Fantine will only be found in stories and in nevermore real life", such a powerful line.🙌🙌
i dont understand how she was being self indulgent she thanked her whole entire team the production company even the nominee's. now if thats not humble i don't know what is.
i didn't really see anything wrong with this speech, she deserves this because she work for and that's all. i do not see why so much hate. people just loves tô judge instead of pay attention to the things that matters the most.
i hope one day people realize that self love is not wrong, that self love is well deserved and that self loved is the most beautiful thing in the world. i can't see in any way why would this be hated if she deserved and she worked hard, she's someone who can speak and love herself and say 'i did well', and that's something everyone SHOULD do.
Still can't understand all the hate towards her...........I mean, even if I prepared myself a 100 times for that moment, I would've screwed up a bit!!! So if winning that prize was her lifetime dream, then what's wrong in what she said?!? And by the way, when I watch a movie I ALWAYS tend to separate my idea of the actor/actress as a person from the role he/she is portraying, because of course it makes me judge his/her performance in a more objective way! But if I find an amazing acting combined with a lovely and genuine personality, it's natural the she becomes one of my favourites actresses!! So to all the people who hate her......I don't care!!! You don't even know her and yet you pretend to judge her so easiliy?! Anne.....you're a talented and beautiful actress and you have all of my support!!! :)
Can we acknowledge that this was a full circle moment for Anne Hathaway. She watched her mom play Fantie when she was a little girl and that is when she knew she wanted to be an actress and her dream as an actress was to win and Oscar. So for her to win it for a role that made her want to become an actor in the first place is quite simply incredible. I do think she really wanted to win the Oscar and it was a dream of her’s that she cared about but I also don’t think she was genuinely happy. As she has said herself she was still messed up from the role and trying to be happy because thats what you’re supposed to be when you win awards but inside she was just very uncomfortable. She didn’t like that people are suffering like Fantie in real life and though she wanted an Oscar it didn’t feel right getting awards for pretending to be suffering when that is daily life for others.
Luckily people have come to their senses and gotten over all that "Hathaway hate" and realized that this is a talented actress. People actually do like her, huh? She deserves it.
Wow, I wonder why there are so many dislikes on this video? Anne Hathaway was heartbreaking and not only her singing but also her facial expression justify her win. Still I feel sad for Amy, she was exceptional in The Master, its really extraordinary what she did with such a small role. If Les Misérables had come out one year earlier I think Amy would have had that Oscar in her bag.
All the nominees were fine. None of them gave a winning performance. Hathaway probably came the closest. But this was one of the weakest supporting actress categories ever. Just look at Jackie Weaver's performance, how the hell is that worthy of a nomination.
Jacki Weaver's nomination is a joke. She was just nominated because there was an overall love for Silver Linings Playbook in the Academy. But I have to say that both Amy Adams and Anne Hathaway (although I am not a Hathaway fan) gave winning performances to me, Sally Field was ok and worthy of a nomination (but not more) and I haven't seen Helen Hunt/The Sessions in English, but she seemed fine to me in German. I think that there were worse and better years in Supporting Actress and that in general there are mostly just one or two deserving winners each year in that category.
Sabrina Ross I haven't seen The Sessions as well but the fact that Anne Hathaway, despite having such a small role, won almost every award she was nominated for pretty much says how weak her competition was. This is pretty absurd considering the supporting actor category was very strong that year.
Well, I suppose in the end it's a matter of opinion :P I found Anne Hathaway was fantastic. But yeah, the Supporting Actor category was much stronger (but I consider the Supporting Actor category almost always stronger than the Supp. Actress)
She's still SO YOUNG! I can see why she was a little bit nervous and why she would rehearse her speech. She really has a lot pressure on her shoulders because she really has done so much in her youth. She really does have to be careful in what she says which is exactly what she did (simply thankful people who helped her and support her) because haters will always make a petty comment no matter what. Anne is perfectly fine and she deserved it.
She rehearsed it because she was above and beyond the odds on favorite to win, I appreciate that she opened with a "my dreams have come true" and then was very professional and short from there on out, and didn't make it some kind of messy meltdown, or go political with it.
i don't see anything wrong with anne hathaway. she is an amazing actress who is, yes, probably quirky at times but so what! she did start as a drama student and played in all the plays when she was younger. she was simply that kind of girl. not every star were born "perfect" or were the most popular kids in school.
I love how stupid people are. They hate on Anne, but if you ask them why, they give no reasons at all except for this speech. Why? Because it was beautiful, and she thanked the people who helped her? Because she's not awkward and dumb like Jennifer Lawrence? Because she's not Meryl? Because she was clearly elated to the point she was almost crying, because she worked all her life to achieve this and it's an extraordinary achievement? Because she deserved it? Let's face it, most people that hate her do it because it's fashionable and they're just sheep and zombies, and because they hate a person that is famous and gets awards.
Jennifer isn't dumb, she's just doesn't come off as groomed and professional as other actresses. She's just like a regular girl winning awards so she comes off awkward, and people can relate to the humanity they see in her. Though people shouldn't hate on Anne Hathaway for being more proper, but many celebrities have said she's snobby so who knows!
One of the most deserved Oscars of all time. Such a beautifully controlling performance in the matter of 15mins of screen time. Such a great speech to, that “it came true” is so warming. MWAH ANNE MWAH 💋
lol.. i could've written a speech and prepared what I was going to say just in case, and it could've came out horrible. doesn't change who a person is. now if you start reading "terrible to work with, and mean to her fans, etc" then I'd start to maybe QUESTION it. But I personally don't know her, I am in NO place to judge.
The fact that everybody here asking why people hate her, shows that lots of people hate her)))) And for you idiotic so called fans, she wasn't hated for the speech, she was hated because she forgot to thank her long term manager, who at that time was battling with cancer! If you nominated, prepare your speech including those people. And if you forget it even after days of practicing, then you are clearly not professional! Full stop!
I'll never forget the interview where she talked about the character she played in Les Mis. She literally broke down crying because she was having to explain the pain Fontine went through. Such an amazing actress.
I didn't see any comments hating on her at first, but when I looked in the replies to the comments there were a few. I think people are mainly referring to hate they've seen outside of the comments here though. Idk I don't know much about her tbh was just curious why everyone was still saying stuff about the acceptance speech so many years later lol
I remember when everyone focused on the way her dress looked this year. How incredibly stupid and sexist. I highly doubt that the winner for best supporting actor was scrutinized for his outfit the same year. She was great and deserved the award, and that's all that matters - her talent.
Ironically the medias fashion queen bitches are mostly women and gay men judging other womens appearance. It would be embarassing and not socially accceptable for men to do it.
Kris Davis I get what you're trying to say about the men's outfits, but I was just pointing out how it's unfair that her appearance and the controversy over it totally eclipsed her talent and the fact that she won a major award that year
Alexa Shelby Good point. but it's the people's fault, corporations. entertainment media will only cater to a want, and it seems, most people, in this case women, want to reduce it down to fashion, men don't care about the red carpet, well most, actually most people have stopped caring about the Oscars all together. The only thing to trump the best actor/picture award is the red carpet.
Kris Davis I agree, the media is very misogynistic in many ways, and represents women unfairly. I feel like shows like 'Fashion Police' that mainly ridicule women's clothing choices, for example, should be completely done away with so we can stop living in a society that so strongly values vanity. Yet as you mentioned, people seem to love it, because we're taught to believe that women should be valued mainly by their level of attractiveness and we're a narcissistic nation. It's a serious problem that needs more awareness.
She had rehearsed it because she was above and beyond the odds on favorite to win, I appreciate that she opened with a "my dreams have come true" and then was very professional and short from there on out, and didn't make it some kind of messy meltdown, or go political with it.
wow her performance as Fantine was absolutely amazing. It was so heart wrenching and tragic, it would have been a crime not to have given her the award. She manages to leave such a strong impression with the little time that she has and now i cannot think of anyone else as Fantine :') so proud of her
If you didn't tear her cute ass up, I will lose all respect for you as a fellow penis-wielding man. However, I will then gain my respect back towards you as a fellow human being for not using her for sex, but I will still be mildly unsettled. So sport, how'd it go?
Anne Hathaway is so magnificent. She's one of the greatest talents in Hollywood. She's like Carol Brunette, Judy Garland, and Audrey Hepburn in one talented mold.
Her speech is genuine, she's thankful, very good actress with a lot to show in the future, when somebody inspires so much envy it only speaks well for the target !!, I also cried for her role in les miserables, but I think she only deserves the oscar comparing the other performances.
I'm actually laughing at how many people in this comment section commenting about how the speech is "too rehearsed", of course it is!! This video has over millions of views and the oscars is one of the most important award shows ever. Do you expect her to go up there and speak gibberish?? People simply hate her because they can't be her and it gets on my last nerve.
hathaway's "i dreamed a dream scene" is one of the most incredible performances i have ever witnessed. so powerful and profound. Just amazing. the oscar was so well deserved. Congratulations!!!!
After 14 years of not winning an Oscar, Anne Hathaway's dream of winning an Academy Award finally came true on the same night fellow Kentuckian Jennifer Lawrence won an Oscar; talk about a night of first-timers!
I don't understand why people are saying she's fake and insincere - she's rushing through that speech, nervous as fuck, barely remembering the speech she rehearsed. I mean, you do know everybody rehearsed their speech right?
I think it's because it came off as rehearsed. She seems to try hard to appear too perfect - everything she does seems pre-planned and nothing spontaneous when the spotlight is on her. She rubs me the wrong way like many others but I admit she is a very good actress.
I don’t understand why people hate ann Hathaway so much. If she was so hated in Hollywood she wouldn’t be in movies. She’s a fantastic actress and deserves the Oscar and all the success that she has had.
I don't understand why people say it was fake, and I don't understand the haters, she's really talented and gorgeous actress,i never really paid attention to an actress and before I watched interstellar and song one my favorite actress was jennifer lawrence, and I watched song one,she was great,I just don't understand the hates.

I agree.
La Di Da What has she been doing lately? Haven't heard any of this
Both have different personalities. Why do you feel the need to tear one of them down? Did JLaw kill your dog?
so many comments defending anne but i dont see a single hate comment lmao
Karen smith same...
it's because she got a lot of hate from other social media platforms like twitter lmao. i love her so i don't get it
@@gladiatorinasuit3094 Twitter fucking sucks lmao, the people there are so toxic

A woman that loves herself and values herself and is not afraid to say "Hey. I worked my ass off. This is my moment. I'm going to celebrate it because I fucking well deserve it."
Of course society is going to hate her for that. We'd much rather have women hating themselves.
+Caitlin Belforti Shirley McClain said it when she won the oscar.like "You know what, i deserve this" and nobody hated her.
Nobody hated on her
***** Yeah I didnt know either its ridiculous how people can hate on other for no freaking reason !
It has nothing to do with her being a woman. She's just too full of herself. I was genuinely surprised by her performance, it was good. But every interview that she did she just kept pushing the fact that it was so hard and she had to sing live etc.
Wow congrats you did what every stage actor does 8 times a week.

Why Eddie Redmayne?
+AntipodeanStar Neither did I until recently. Still baffles me.
+AntipodeanStar I agree, there are other actresses and 'stars' who are really irritating, fake or haughty, and they are full of fan boys, I think we´re in a world where wayawrd and arrogant people is admired and prized. I can´t take it.
+AntipodeanStar I'm on your side. I don't get it at all. She charms the pants off me. And moved me almost to tears as Fantine.
omg not the haters! lmao
Her version of I Dreamed A Dream still gives me chills ever time I hear her
What? I don't get it. I just read an article saying how THIS speech got her in trouble with the public because I guess it was too rehearsed or phony? I truly thought the link was wrong, because this speech is not much different than all of the others we see, except, to me, this was MORE sincere.
same... super confused! it's not a groundbreaking speech, but 90% aren't. really, really strange article to read. why are people hung on a supporting actress speech from 4 years ago. move on..?
Whatever happened to "If you can't say anything nice. don't say anything at all? Hathaway is a real princess. The new Julie Andrews.
Yeah, I came here because of the same reason. I'm not a biggest fan of her talent, but there was absolutely nothing fake in this speech.
Same. I guess they wanted her to blubber and snot about the great opportunity it was to win.
Like you, I just read the article and I wanted to see what it was. How was this phony? So confused...
Her's and lupita's are my favorite speeches
"I kind of lost my mind doing that movie and it hadn’t come back yet."
"Then I had to stand up in front of people and feel something I don’t feel, which is uncomplicated happiness," she explained.
"It’s an obvious thing, you win an Oscar and you’re supposed to be happy. I didn’t feel that way. I felt wrong that I was standing there in a gown that cost more than some people are going to see in their lifetime, and winning an award for portraying pain that still felt very much a part of our collective experience as human beings."
"I tried to pretend that I was happy and I got called out on it, big time. That’s the truth and that’s what happened. It sucks."
"What you learn from it is that you only feel like you can die from embarrassment," she said.
Robert S it's because she because anorexic during the film, she ate nothing but oatmeal and radishes to prepare for the role.

I just love what she said in the end "I hope that some day in the not so distant future, the misfortunes of Fantine will only be found in stories and never more in real life.
And I think it was very thoughtful of her to have an acceptance speach practiced beforehand, it shows how much serious she takes the awards.
Easily the most deserved Oscar of the last years. What an unforgettable performance.
I haven't seen Les Miserables in it's entirety, but from what I've seen of her in the movie I thought she was incredible and I felt she earned this award. I've always liked Anne Hathaway, she's grown so much as an actress and I can't wait to see her in Interstellar :)
Just turn off that movie once Anne dies in it the rest is crap she was the only good thing about that movie
she's literally the best part of the film, russell crowe made my ears bleed
Hey joe, tell me what do you think about her performance in interstellar!
Comatose Garce She was really good ;)
Uffffff Interstellar cannot be praised in words i know so far
“Here’s hoping that someday in the not too distant future the misfortunes of Fantine will only be found in stories and nevermore in real life. Thank you.”
POWERFUL.
"It came truuueee"
I love you Anne Hathaway
Her husband's eyes getting teary and his little "I love you, too" ARE THE CUTEST THING EVER THEY'RE SO CUTE
i hope one day people realize that self love is not wrong, that self love is well deserved and that self loved is the most beautiful thing in the world. i can't see in any way why would this be hated if she deserved and she worked hard, she's someone who can speak and love herself and say 'i did well', and that's something everyone SHOULD do.
Adriana Afonso so true!
Well said 👍🏻❤️
Adriana Afonso agree!
I agree! ;)
People hate Hathaway.
Actress)
Christopher Plummer (1929 - 2021)🙏🙏🙏😭😭😭
She's still SO YOUNG! I can see why she was a little bit nervous and why she would rehearse her speech. She really has a lot pressure on her shoulders because she really has done so much in her youth. She really does have to be careful in what she says which is exactly what she did (simply thankful people who helped her and support her) because haters will always make a petty comment no matter what. Anne is perfectly fine and she deserved it.
She rehearsed it because she was above and beyond the odds on favorite to win, I appreciate that she opened with a "my dreams have come true" and then was very professional and short from there on out, and didn't make it some kind of messy meltdown, or go political with it.
i don't see anything wrong with anne hathaway. she is an amazing actress who is, yes, probably quirky at times but so what! she did start as a drama student and played in all the plays when she was younger. she was simply that kind of girl.
not every star were born "perfect" or were the most popular kids in school.
i love her! this was so well deserved and a lovely acceptance speech, especially that note about fantine and her struggles at the end 💗
I love Anne, she's the best and most funny and natural actress. I dont care if everybody hate her
MissPumpkin91 I don't think she was wearing a bra
@@annafowdy so?
I love how stupid people are. They hate on Anne, but if you ask them why, they give no reasons at all except for this speech. Why? Because it was beautiful, and she thanked the people who helped her? Because she's not awkward and dumb like Jennifer Lawrence? Because she's not Meryl? Because she was clearly elated to the point she was almost crying, because she worked all her life to achieve this and it's an extraordinary achievement? Because she deserved it? Let's face it, most people that hate her do it because it's fashionable and they're just sheep and zombies, and because they hate a person that is famous and gets awards.
I feel like far more people like than hate her.
Jennifer isn't dumb, she's just doesn't come off as groomed and professional as other actresses. She's just like a regular girl winning awards so she comes off awkward, and people can relate to the humanity they see in her. Though people shouldn't hate on Anne Hathaway for being more proper, but many celebrities have said she's snobby so who knows!
i've never heard a celebrity say that she's snobby.Quite the contrary ive heard them say she's adorable.
awkward and dumb like jennifer lawrence.. lol
If someone is going to hate, they should bring it down a 'troll level'.. get a sense of humor, life's to short
One of the most deserved Oscars of all time. Such a beautifully controlling performance in the matter of 15mins of screen time. Such a great speech to, that “it came true” is so warming. MWAH ANNE MWAH 💋
are you guys hating on her because she didnt fall in the stairs? lol
Damn 😂😂
You could’ve defend her without dissing another actress. So stupid and pointless..
People hate her for this? For real??
No, people hate her for her HORRIBLE Golden Globe speech.
I LOVE HER
lol.. i could've written a speech and prepared what I was going to say just in case, and it could've came out horrible. doesn't change who a person is. now if you start reading "terrible to work with, and mean to her fans, etc" then I'd start to maybe QUESTION it.
Full stop!
@@kellycaviazel8979 This is bullshit lol She forgot one person, the only one who could hate her is him!
1:49 I love how Hugh is so happy for her and clapping so loud.. aw I love him
She's my favourite actress... I think that she totally deserved this. Her performance in "Les Misérables" was breathtaking!!!
I'll never forget the interview where she talked about the character she played in Les Mis. She literally broke down crying because she was having to explain the pain Fontine went through. Such an amazing actress.
All the comments are about how they love her and can't understand why people hate her.... But no single comment is about hating her.....
Love Annie. I love her. So great and fantastic actress. Anne you're the best!!!
"The misfortunes of Fantine only found in stories and not in real life" Shits deep
How come no one is talking about the Legend that handed Anne her oscar statuette? Rest In Peace Chris Plummer. ❤️❤️
Because all these comments are from years ago! Chris passed only earlier this month so sad 😞
Right?!
I love Anne Hathaway. She is fabulous and deserved all the awards she received
I can not believe people hate her because she was emotional that she won. If I won an oscar, I would be be just as excited. Let her have her moment.
She is incredible. Every time I watch her as Fantine I want to cry because her emotions and misery seems so real.
+Alexa Shelby That's because all the males dress the same. The all wear a tux not ball gowns ten feet wide.
She is the most beautiful women I ever seen!!!!!!
She manages to leave such a strong impression with the little time that she has and now i cannot think of anyone else as Fantine :') so proud of her
just had the pleasure of meeting her last night... such a sweet young lady. really.
jealous
If you didn't tear her cute ass up, I will lose all respect for you as a fellow penis-wielding man. However, I will then gain my respect back towards you as a fellow human being for not using her for sex, but I will still be mildly unsettled. So sport, how'd it go?

Anne Hathaway is so magnificent. She's one of the greatest talents in Hollywood. She's like Carol Brunette, Judy Garland, and Audrey Hepburn in one talented mold.
people keep saying anne didnt deserve it, but if you saw les mis youd be bawling
is nobody gonna talk about amy adams’ dress? that thing is insane!
Her speech is genuine, she's thankful, very good actress with a lot to show in the future, when somebody inspires so much envy it only speaks well for the target !!, I also cried for her role in les miserables, but I think she only deserves the oscar comparing the other performances.
Why people hates her? She seems to be very nice and sweet.
“By far and away the greatest moment of my life was the one you walked into it”. This was the most adorable expression of love I’ve ever heard😢
I cried. She was absolutely amazing and deserved to win. I'm SO happy for her! ♥

She absolutely looks like Audrey when se recieved the Óscar for "Román Holiday" in 1954
What's wrong with her saying "it came true" i dont get it
I think it's because it came off as rehearsed. She seems to try hard to appear too perfect - everything she does seems pre-planned and nothing spontaneous when the spotlight is on her. She rubs me the wrong way like many others but I admit she is a very good actress.
Guys. GUYS.
The song she performed? "I Dreamed a Dream"?
_It came true._
She's had 7 nominations for an academy award, and she finally got one from Les Miserables
The song she sang in the film she won the Oscar for is called "I Dreamed a Dream."
Not true. She won on her 2nd nomination. She's only been nominated for an Academy Award twice thus far.
The moment I watched her finish singing I Dreamed A Dream in Les Miserables I knew right then that the Oscar was hers. Great job Anne!
I don’t understand why people hate ann Hathaway so much. If she was so hated in Hollywood she wouldn’t be in movies. She’s a fantastic actress and deserves the Oscar and all the success that she has had.
Why do people hater so much she's beautiful and a talented actress I mean sure I miss the longer hair but come in people she deserves this
Who hates her?
I don't understand why people say it was fake, and I don't understand the haters, she's really talented and gorgeous actress,i never really paid attention to an actress and before I watched interstellar and song one my favorite actress was jennifer lawrence, and I watched song one,she was great,I just don't understand the hates.
Her acting and singing in Les Miserables was spectacular, i am watching the movie for the 6th time. She truly deserved an Oscar ❤️❤️
The audience never really reacted well to her speeches, I don't know why, I love her speeches. They're very simply and modest.
Awwwww she looks so happy when her name is announced! Good for you, Anne, you're amazing!
How DARE people say she isn't genuine? The tears in her eyes were real- she's been working for this moment for years and years.
She deserved that Oscar, it makes me cry every time
A limited yet powerful role.... Her portrayal of Fantine moved me big time.... A truly deserving award...:)
One of the most gracious speeches of recent times! Simple, direct, elegant. And such a well-deserved award!
No celebrity in the world has no haters I guess. Congratulations Anne she deserves it but I always see her as Mia Thermopolis and Ella Of Frell
