I'm Hispanic, born and raised in Puerto Rico, and really proud. I love Rock n Roll and I LOVE Skynyrd. There is nothing racist about their music and there is nothing racist about the Southern Flag.
    It is history...
Let's be all "Simple Kind of Men and Women".

I am a 55 year old black female who loves and grew up on rock music. I attended ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd concerts in the last year at Hard Rock Hollywood. I saw no confederate flags at the ZZ Top concert, but they we large and many at the Skynyrd concert. I enjoyed both concerts.

That’s because it’s a flag of freedom from economic jewish tyranny in Washington’s District of Criminals. Ask yourself if we are better off now with 100% of men and women being 22-28% slaves to the federal tyrants and 10-15% to the state tyrants.

this song says it all. be kind, fair and be respectful to all, no matter their station in life. be prepared to be like Jesus, walk in his shoes, tell everyone you meet why the Lord God wanted life to be this way. Wise words indeed. still one of my favorites.

      My dear friend.
Everything you wrote , you took out of my mouth.
I notoriously come back to this piece , because I love the lyrics and its score.
This piece is a masterpiece in its simplicity.
Sometimes I don't understand our creator , but I feel that he shows the right path in our short lives.
Regarding wealth , the Lord Jesus once said such famous words :
"It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven".
I used to have money and a career. I never boasted about it. Rather, I was ashamed of it . I even felt uncomfortable.
      I knew it would pass.
      And it did.
Today I am without a job , but I don't worry about it much because money is important but not the most important thing.
Always my creator and my beloved family was the most important for me .
      Heartfelt greetings from Poland.

Well spoken. I love all of America. The South definitely has a deeper religious connection and certainly has suffered the most. Too bad you can't visit. My family came from England 400+ years ago...Ashton Under Lyne. Wish I could visit there. I love England. I'm in Fredericksburg Virginia. I don't care what other people say I love my country.

    "Simple Man"
Mama told me when I was young
Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say.
    And if you do this
It will help you some sunny day.
Take your time... Don't live too fast,
Troubles will come and they will pass.
Go find a woman and you'll find love,
    And don't forget son,
    There is someone up above.
    [Chorus:]
And be a simple kind of man.
Be something you love and understand.
Baby, be a simple kind of man.
Oh won't you do this for me son,
    If you can?
Forget your lust for the rich man's gold
All that you need is in your soul,
And you can do this if you try.
All that I want for you my son,
    Is to be satisfied.
    [Chorus]
    Boy, don't you worry.
    You'll find yourself.
    Follow your heart,
    And nothing else.
    You can do this,
    If you try.
All that I want for you my son,
    Is to be satisfied.
    [Chorus]
Baby, be a simple, be a simple man
Oh, be something you love and understand
Baby, be a simple kind of man

Lil bro singing this, good job though. I saw them live in 2004 and thought I'd be disappointed in Johnny's voice but the show was amazing!

My wife was out in her backyard near McComb, Ms., smoking on October 20, 1977, when she heard an airplane flying over, with the engine sputtering and failing. She went back in the house and told her roommate who came out and also heard it. The next day, they heard about the crash local news. She felt a sick, cold feeling and threw up a little. She named her daughter, Cassie, after Cassie Gaines. RIP Skynyrd brothers and sister, Cassie.

Considering your age ... respect to you, man. I didn't know the song, was just curious if it was the same as the Graham Nash song. What it is not. Thanks for the upload and it's nice to see the music lives on.

@Smutt518 I'm pretty sure they started out as the Noble Five in 64. Then as you say My Backyard. I've never heard this before. Then the 1% band until they took the Skynyrd name around 70. Just for the record. Ed King was the fonder of The Strawberry Alarm Clock. The first group Skynyrd was the opening act for his band. This how Ronnie met Ed King in 68. So other than Ed playing in the band. He also gave them thier first big gig's. Opening for his band. Who went into the RRHF? Them are SKYNYRD
