Melissa......same here. It’s saved me during this pandemic. I’m so ready for better times though. Hope whoever is reading this is safe and in good health. ❤️🙏🏻Such uncertain times
Yes! I agree with that. Glen is. As an American who grew up in the ACT I have to say that this song is my all time fave of all songs, any songs.. I relate to it, I feel it. Thanks Glenn and LRB for making my life in Australia so special. And show Countdown for showing me what the world and the country has to offer ;)
Every time I hear this it brings a tear to my eye s as it was played at one of my good friends funeral, she was only 47 and left behind her husband and a 6 year old boy, I miss you nic, miss our chats and the way laughed at each other, miss me old mate nic
Forgot all about the LRB after Shorrock left in the 80's I had the First Under The Wire Album, also Sleeper Catcher , saw them Live London Ontario Gardens , during the the First Under The Wire tour, great concert. Now recently the new movie with Will Farrel , and MArk Walberg called The Other Guys, came out and there is a few funny scenes with LRB playing in the car , what great songs these guys wrote . Cool Chnage was voted one of the Top Australian Songs of All Time...
@TecomaCowboy Hi, Cowboy ~ Yes, that's the original guy. I loved all their music until they dumped him. I bought their next album, but it wasn't the same. The new guy was a much more commercial voice, as opposed to Glenn's "bar room" sound. I was so disappointed when he was let go. And now you don't hear about The Little River Band anymore do you? He was the band. Lamar (65)
it's a shame the original band members can't use the name little river band. I read the full story of the band on. Google. the other band got kick off the late show with jimny Kimmel
Sorry, but Farnham is a nobody outside Australia. Little River Band had international exposure and success. Glen is the original singer of the song, the original band member, and the song is better suited to his voice, not Farnham's - who tends to use all songs, including this one, to display his vocal power. Like Glen, Farnham has been caught many times reaching for notes he will never make. Singers all have to learn to find a song that suits. Noone can sing everything.
Scott Trotter it's a joke how no original members are playing in little River band but these assholes who are in the band have the nerve to tour as LRB and confuse people. like fans of then might not know there are no originals left and be ripped off. just end the band if there are no originals, imposters
This song, in its original version here, has been my lifes' song. It takes me back to the 70s-80s, and helps me through the generations past, present, and a future ahead. I've traveled the seas, and this year I plan to travel the USA. Fun times ahead.
@danielskennedy Glenn refers to his current hairstyle as a 'reverse mohawk'... He certainly doesn't seem old when he's on stage, when I saw him in concert recently...
Glenn has been one of those performers that has always hit the high and low notes since he first hit the Australian Musical Market and continues to do so today. Everything he song he sings from the heart and brings his soul to make each song succeed where others are unable to do this. He is a Master of his craft and I truely hope he continues. Take a bow Mr Shorrock, your music and singing ability is truely recognised.
Even tho over the years we watch each of our idols age, (and bald) they're still special in our hearts. He still has the voice. I loved this band then and now.
Shorrock knows how to put on a good show. In June-July 2011 he did a tour of the pubs here in New Zealand with Jason Kerrison (of Kiwi band Opshop - and half Shorrock's age!) and ran through a number of LRB hits (this one got plenty of the crowd up the front dancing - he altered the arrangements on a few, referencing NZ locations into the lyrics), along with a few rock and roll covers. Incredibly energetic on stage-as soon as he was off stage he and Kerrison mixed in with the audience.
Glen Shorrock was absolutely the nicest, most sincere artist I met in the music industry in the late 1970s; he deserves more acclaim for his talent. artistry, and originality than he (most likely) has received; I am very glad to have stumbled across this 2007 live recording and wish him well
Yes they are older...I guess, we all grow older with time. But that's what makes life so precious! We enjoy our youth or we should appreciate it while it's here. I grew up listening to Little River Band and now I am 48. At least the older ones can say we're a bit wiser now...lol Anyway...it was good to hear these familiar sounds again and thank you guys for all the years of entertaining us :)
LRB Is my 3rd favorite bands! Number one Bad Company. 2nd Led Zepplin. 3rd Little River Band.... no no.. wait..ok..#1 Heart. 2nd Bad Company and 3rd...umm.. wait a second. #1 Barbara Streisand. " 2 Led Zepplin. 3rd Bad...no no.. that's not right! #3 Montrose and THEN Led Zepplin. 4th AC/DC and THEN Little River Band and 4th Restless Heart. Ummmm.... phuck this is so difficult. Why did I try to list all my favorite band by number. They are ALL MY FAVORITE BANDS! There is no #1 or #2. They are ALL my "First FAVORITES!!! EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM IS#1 In my ❤heart! Ok.... shut up Susan and put the music 🎶 back on you lil heifer!!
Have not seen this version for some reason. Ouitstanding voice and when I briefly met him some years back, hell of a nice guy. Every band he fronted was a success, that tells you something. LRB, Twighlights and Axiom ala Brian Cadd. True rock legends.
Great set of pipes....nothing like him has come along in years. Almost worth hopping on a plane to see one of the five live shows he's doing in OZ over the next couple of weeks....
Sorry, but John Farrnham..... is the "Voice", shorrock is very good, but john farnham, is the best. since 1967 to 2009, look the bio of John.number one in . 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's etc. and this year, Live by Demand with john farnham.
I thought it was Don Rickles or a bald Pete Rose at first LOL! The dude still has the pipes though for this song. The LRB has given me so many great memories of my teens in late 70s. The back -up vocals on this kind'a suck though!
Do yourself a favor and buy a little river band CD great east hits.. whatever, it’ll be like buying Earth Wind and Fire (GH) good to the ears better for the soul
I like covers of lots of songs, but for Cool Changes it HAS to be Glenn Shorrock or I don't listen. I don't care how old he is, he still beats John Farnham by a mile. A hundred miles...
It's the unique, evocative voice of Glenn Shorrock that set LRB apart and made people fall in love with their music. Without him, they make nice music...with him, you feel every line, every note, right down to your toes.
I spent a lot of time on my grandfather's boat growing up. I was always on the water and when this song came out I played the shit out of it. Really brings back memories
This, my friends, is the one and only voice of Little River Band. Heard them live for the first time in 1979 and I don’t need to hear anybody else but Glenn.
Thanks for the education but i dont think i said one was better than the other. I dont know i read my comment ten times and i dont see where i made any comparisons about whos better. All i asked was what happened to his hair. I didnt even know they were two different guys until you schooled me on that.
These guys were brilliant harmonizers and excellent musicians and their earlier stuff e.g. Diamontina Cocktail (album) It's a Long Way was brilliant but somewhere along the line their song writing turned to crap. What happened ?
Felix Burke Well if you think LRB were good well the Twilights were another 50 % better as far as harmonies are concerned. When the Twilights played at somewhere like Opus on a Sunday night in the sixties the other support bands would come into the audience to watch them, they were that good.
This song gets me all misty eye'd. And there's no one that sings it like Glenn.
American comment: Why is he not super famous here? Damn. He's my moms age and rocks this. Wrote and sang on some amazing songs.
Oh Glen LRB isn't LRB without you.
I love you with all my heart as I do LRB...just when you were in it. 🌈✝️
Such a lovely song what a wonderful talent
I love Glenn. No substitutes please.
Thank you. Listening to LRB getting me through these hard times in America. ✌️
ya welcome Melissa
Melissa......same here. It’s saved me during this pandemic. I’m so ready for better times though. Hope whoever is reading this is safe and in good health. ❤️🙏🏻Such uncertain times
Simply awesome. What a voice to bring back so many memories.

The best the original!!!
Yes! I agree with that. Glen is. As an American who grew up in the ACT I have to say that this song is my all time fave of all songs, any songs.. I relate to it, I feel it. Master class.
Love, love, love this song.
Still got it sir. Wail on!
Great song, great singer, great voice.

Shorrock is the sound of LRB….
It's also good now.
@TecomaCowboy Hi, Cowboy ~ Yes, that's the original guy. I loved all their music until they dumped him. I bought their next album, but it wasn't the same. Great performance, I just laughed a bit when the first audio you hear, someone says, " he has sh*t in his eye"
didnt he bass player come from tecoma victoria
in GSB?
it's a shame the original band members can't use the name little river band. I read the full story of the band on. Google. the other band got kick off the late show with jimny Kimmel
John Farham was a little bit better.

John Farnham sang it better..
Rick Lepard original band Better.
like fuck he did
All these years later and this song still gives me chills. Not sure of Glenn's age here, but he's still got it in my opinion!! :-)
@RevNagi maths is not your best subject
My favorite band, still today 2020. Love all of their songs. Australians best export next to koalas.
I think you're Mistaken 1944!
spot on!
The true voice of LRB
Scott Trotter it's a joke how no original members are playing in little River band but these assholes who are in the band have the nerve to tour as LRB and confuse people. like fans of then might not know there are no originals left and be ripped off. just end the band if there are no originals, imposters
Now, I don't feel so bad missing the LRB when they came to town...if he's no longer a part of the show.
Best song. But here in Austria not so much favorit. Sorry🥲
This version of Glenns song is simply incredible. Shorrock is a vocal badass !
Still has a beautiful voice god bless you Glenn
God
The finest voice in Australian music history in my opinion.
You meant John Farnham right? not this jealous guy......... smh
@@TheFacts-wx9gb It’s my opinion, arse. I’m entitled to mine just as you to yours.
@@TheFacts-wx9gbJohn Farnham was terrible
@@8092DJ Ha Ha Ha Ha Surely you jest or.....
Love Love Love Glenn Shorrock's voice. I have for many many years. I'd go see him live if he came to California.
He may have lost his hair but he didn't lose his voice.
nice song
LRB has changed lineups over the years but this is the voice I remember the most....Glen Shorrock.
Web Direct Brands exactly.
8/2023.. one of the greatest songs, singers of all time.
Never miss listening to this masterpiece everyday🎸
This song, in its original version here, has been my lifes' song. It takes me back to the 70s-80s, and helps me through the generations past, present, and a future ahead. I've traveled the seas, and this year I plan to travel the USA. Fun times ahead.
This music never gets old.
It is not possible
@danielskennedy Glenn refers to his current hairstyle as a 'reverse mohawk'... He certainly doesn't seem old when he's on stage, when I saw him in concert recently...
Why hate age when it is a trip we all are making? This brother is taking the trip in style!
Glenn has been one of those performers that has always hit the high and low notes since he first hit the Australian Musical Market and continues to do so today.

🥀This song is Beautiful and Powerful but I love this song I feel his words🥀🤘
Awesome song and sheer music-- I think haters need a cool 'Chain' :P
Can't believe I'm now 59 grew up with this music, the best ever!
love this song... the Albatros and the Whales they are my brothers. xx
Even tho over the years we watch each of our idols age, (and bald) they're still special in our hearts. He still has the voice. I loved this band then and now.
An amazing musician and band. I deeply identify with and love this song. peace
Well done Glenn!
He still has it. ❤
Master piece!!!
Masterpiece *
Love his voice and this song.
Nothing like the original !!!!!!!!!
Man o man.....that's talent. Hope to be 1/2 that good @ anything I did 40 years ago!
Awesome yes I still listening to yall guys to the original L.R.B peace & love from a long time fan 😎
Sure wish these guys would reunite. Saw the current LRB at Disney World last weekend. Not the same.
I love both his, and Jon Farnham's version, but this is so pure, without the vocal gymnastics of Farnham, so if I had to pick a favorite..this is it.
Whow glen had the privilege of hearing you sing this georgous song last night at palms crowne keep singing 😄

Americans miss out sometimes!! Super famous in NZ xx

2023 This song is still iconic. Artist has vocal chops that have lasted years. thanx
timeless ❤
Ah the strength of his voice very well done Glen

Glenn Shorrock is LRB - the original - all others are imposters....Farnham, Nelson, Hind.....take a back seat to Shorrock
