Back when The Little River Band were putting out hits I had one of their eight track cassette in my new 73 Monte Carlo. Met a cute little blond in Manhattan, Ks. that left me star struck be treated me so nice. Thank you Debbie
I saw the Little River Band on August 27, 1978 at Empire Stadium in Vancouver, the concert was called Summer Sunday. They played with Heart, Bob Welch, and Nick Gilder. Beautiful sunny day and sat mid field on the ground, probably the best concert I've ever been to.
I don't think I'm wrong when I say that Master Shorrock is much better today than in the early LRB days. Applause also for Simon Hosford for that superb integration.
I had the luxury at 74 years old US ARMY years ago to see their first American concert in Seattle Washington 1975 totally blown away awesome vocals awesome band! Glad I'm still around to share this with you!
cannot make out the guitar brand - for LRB songs a Strat imo is apt, he's playing a HSS Strat with the bridge humbucker giving him some gain, he's using pedals for the solo, yes it's always great to see younger generations playing in bands like LRB - the pathetic story of 'how' LRB had their name stolen is a national disgrace - some yank owns the trademark and a yank band tours the US under the name "LRB" - SO wrong, however as GS said "we may not be called LRB but we bloody well sound like them". Fucking oath, national treasures, Goble owns a massive house just a few streets up from my parents, magnificent Edwardian house. He aint poor, he earned it.
@@BTR-xw4of Should be a royal commission or at best a class action from the fans [i.e.us] if only the presiding judge had been a music lover we would not be in this predicament, as an indicator Housden hides in Ireland.
@@shannonlucas2980 Simon does a great job here. But why wasn't Ric, Roger and Derek part of this? And if Ric couldn't do it, surely David Briggs could have put his own spin on it. Briggs's more layback lead style would have been a wonderful and refreshing addition that would have been more in keeping to the time the song was new.
@@karmicselling4252 This line up of the band was intended as being the original voices of the band. Apparently the three sings came up with an arrangement with their manager Glenn Wheatley that this would be a good lineup for that show. They used these other great musicians who were very experienced and familiar with the music of the band.
Nelson can shove his LRB tribute band where the sun don't shine. These guys really turned back the clock with this one. Glenn sounding as good as ever and harmonies spot on from Graham and Beeb. That lead guitar is crazy good. Would have loved to be there. Any more small gigs like this planned?
Couldn't agree more...they sound as good as they did in the 70's. Nelson may have the courts on his side, but he's morally bankrupt for doing what he's doing. Lead guitarist killed it.
I actually went to that last weekend. I only knew the night before that is was just a shell (if that). As musicians, sure they're fine. They sold out the show and the people enjoyed it. It wouldn't be fair to insult their ability. But they do not have anywhere near this chemistry and tightness. Even though this was 20+ years ago, it was also 20+ years after their "peak" and they lost nothing and even their "hired hands" are a tighter knit group than what I saw last weekend. This group could tour under this name and play the same casino, they would tear down the house. Any hint of this sound and we'll know who it is.
There is only ONE Little River Band regardless of the ridiculous squabble over the name. Love this song, these guys, and the young gtr player killed it..Been in the philippines over 6 years and missing home more than ever , am from south Louisiana ..Smiling with tears in my eyes...
You can take and keep the name of a band that you were never an original member of … But you can never take the original members Birtles,Shorrock,Gobel are the band and nothing and no one can ever change that. And this video is a testament of that truth Ahhhh .. sweet justice
Kudos to your lead guitarist. some of the most natural and skilled and most of all, completely dovetailed performance. He not only played well, he was connected to the whole feel of the song. The best guitarist isn't the fastest or the most skilled, he is the one that knows when to fill, when to drive and when to shut up! I would love to see this lineup live!
I could not agree more. That innate ability can be learned, like I had to do it, but in some lucky people it seems they were born with it. And when you compare someone who had to learn how to accompany the singers, to someone who was born to do that, it's an easy thing to tell which is which. I absolutely love this performance!
Brilliant. I remember when this came out and it sounded like a better version of west coast. This is why you guy’s are so special and successful. Housden may have stolen the name but he will never have the recipe, magic or the key ingredients. Formosa’s solo is still a benchmark.
I can't believe how beautiful their vocal harmonies still are after all these years and that young guitarist is the greatest guitar tone I've heard in a long time
Wow .... those harmonies sound as amazing as they did 47 years ago when I first heard this song. Your guitar player nailed the lead... Bravo bravo ... perfect live performance .. Thank you !!!
Don't worry about us true lovers of LRB S actual, original, amazing vocals and music!!!! Im in Alabama, and have searched and only tonight, found you guys!!!! What's left of my ears are so happyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!! You guys are just magic, now and of course, back then. No one can fool us, nor take away your talent, ever!!!!! THANKYOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!
More More More Come on guys come to the USA. You have so many fans that know the truth. Will call ya the Big River Band or The No River Band and you can Rock the house down and out 💕 Vegas sounds like a perfect place, and then I can just drive to the concert 😜
This song made me a fan, long, long ago. I still love it as I do just about all your songs but my absolute favourite is "Cool Change". I love you guys, you're the best! Greetings from The Netherlands.
Probably my overall all-time favorite band. I literally wore my 8 track out playing it over and over again. Then it came out on cassette oh my God it was like a concert in my old Pontiac. Like this young kid Simon on lead guitar. Cool as shit, keeps it original. Looks like he could play guitar and make a sandwich or paint a wall at the same time. This is some of the greatest music ever in my humble opinion
I don't if this was intentional, but this is what I call a good formula. Massively talented and aging musicians in the front; young, beautiful and talented musicians behind them. The best of both worlds!
I got into LRB late in life, what a big mistake, because over the last 8 years that's all I listen to in my car, everywhere I go, these guys are the real deal and absolutely love there music..!!
Age does not take away the music in your heart and soul Fantastic singer and musicians. Donald Fagan , Walter Becker ,and Steely Dan were another great group of musicians.
That young lead guitarist is Fanfrickentastic and a Tribute to the perfectionism of LRB .
Simon also played with Men At Work for awhile. A superb guitarist.
Couldn’t agree more. He’s amazing
I will not waste my time or money for the imitators in the USA. No comparison. Period! Blessings from Kansas~
They should come to the Cotilllion in wichita
Back when The Little River Band were putting out hits I had one of their eight track cassette in my new 73 Monte Carlo. Met a cute little blond in Manhattan, Ks. that left me star struck be treated me so nice. Thank you Debbie
My favorite Little River Band song....I am in Lawrence, Kansas.
From Kansas too, these guys are great!!!!
Well, they are coming here soon. But it`s the cover version band. So I`ll skip....
I think it was Glen Frey who said they were the greatest harmony band in the World. High accolades but very true.
This is the real LRB and this is what real music sounds like
Absolutely killed it, that tribute band needs to take a hiatus, permanently
This is the original Little River Band and they are the best
Hard to believe this is 50 years later. These old geezers have still got it !!!!!
This isn't recent. It's from 2002 but they do sound great here.
Give anything to see him live.
How can you not say holy shit ? Still the best
I don't think I'm wrong when I say that Master Shorrock is much better today than in the early LRB days. Applause also for Simon Hosford for that superb integration.
*One of Australia's best bands and the lead guitarist is awesome!*
Ah!!!! Pure unadulterated talent! Nothing like the original!
I had the luxury at 74 years old US ARMY years ago to see their first American concert in Seattle Washington 1975 totally blown away awesome vocals awesome band! Glad I'm still around to share this with you!
THE ONLY LITTLE RIVER BAND!!!!!!
They left the band.
The real little river band. What a relief.
Simon Hosford extraordinary on guitar
Brilliant!
Agree

Now this is the Little River Band that I grew up listening to! Awesome!
The old guys still have it but how good is the lead guitarist!
Simon Hosford. Ridiculously skilled player. Incidentally this gig was from around 2002-2003

Yeah he’s great but Ric Formossa’s original solo was a world beater.. it out Dan’s The Steely boys..
@@RickyPann That's gold.👍
So, so good to hear those original-and-best harmonies again!!
Omygod perfection. These guys are timeless. I cant quit listening
Bloody hell! Just like a fine wine and fond memories.
A genuine classic, right up there with the best of The Eagles, CSN&Y, etc.
Aussie 🇦🇺💙 rock and harmonies as good as CSNY ⭐️
Those harmonies give me chills ❤
THE REAL DEAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEA !
You had to be there in the 60's 70's and half of the 80's😄 !what great song and great memories!!
Right! My 23 year old daughter is like Mom LRB is in town. I'm like Smhh that's the fake LRB 😂
Couldn't agree more...they sound as good as they did in the 70's. Nelson may have the courts on his side, but he's morally bankrupt for doing what he's doing. Lead guitarist killed it.

Wasn't just Nelson...wasn't there a guy named Houseman? Unfortunately, the original members kinda let themselves get sold down the river.
I'm back at university with my girlfriend, it's 1976 life is good. An absolutely fantastic version. THX BSG👍👍👍
72 yrs.and still dig thee old music.LRB you sure killed it.Outstanding.What harmony ❤❤❤
Age has done nothing to their voices except make them better

Like Grand Funk Railroad without Mark is also just a tribute band.
Still making better music than 99 percent of the bands out there. Incredible! I would love to see them in concert. LRB!
Again....
The real LRB with some more young talent! Great vocals like always!
Just a pure Classic..... You go on Birtles !!!
This is the voice of LRB, best vocalist in the business. Such great memories of my childhood.
100%! So good this group. Awesome musicians.
Wow! Their vocals never age! GS fantastic as always and how good is the young fella in lead guitar!!!Just Wow!🙏🏼😎❤️
Well he’s no Ric Formosa but he’s pretty bloody good
I watch this over and over!!! Dear God!!! Your harmonies are outstanding ❤❤❤❤!!!
I had to keep listening - what these guys don't know about dynamics and professionalism is not up for discussion !
Unmistakeable harmonies of the original LRB. Graeme Goble a true master of penning great songs.
You can take and keep the name of a band that you were never an original member of …
But you can never take the original members
Birtles,Shorrock,Gobel are the band and nothing and no one can ever change that.
And this video is a testament of that truth

They are great in 2024❤
SHORROCK.. HAS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VOICES EVER
Like a good wine, Shorrock gets better with age
Lead guitarist ripped it to shreds

Absolutely Ricky
💯...and Housdens stage antics were cringe worthy back in the day. Not sure how him and Nelson sleep at night.
How tight were these guys? Amazing vocals. LRB was a bands band, unmatched harmonies.
Certainly unmatched by the current pretenders.
I can't believe how beautiful their vocal harmonies still are after all these years and that young guitarist is the greatest guitar tone I've heard in a long time
The Eagles reckoned these guys had the best harmonies in the world. Not wrong.
Simon was outstanding !
Knocked that RIGHT OUT OF THE PARK!!
Absolute class and kudos to the young fella on the lead guitar too👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wow! Still sounding awesome. Fantastic vocals/harmonies
well this video is 20 years old, not sure how they would sound now 😂
Little River Band forever !!
Briiliant superb concert from the real singersr composers musicians
Saw them several times back in the day and they never disappointed, always a fantastic show !!!!
The one and only LRB!
Wonderful! A Graham Goble masterpiece from their 1975 "Little River Band" album. Gave me chills.
One of my favourite LRB songs. Just a classic from start to finish 🙌🙌
I’d sit through this LONG before what Wayne Nelson is passing for LRB these days.
the I wish that glenn, beeb, and graeham would tour the us just for one time. that is the real lrb to me.
brilliant, the lead guitarist is f.ng brilliant. the song is f.ng brilliant. breathtaking
One of my favorite wonders from down under!
Brilliant live version of this classic song! Simon on lead guitar is outstanding !
Beautiful uniquie blend of vocals the chorus from heaven
The real LRB
The perfect sound of the 70s when I was entering my young teens in New Zealand. Still play them today at 59! Timeless class!

Best fucking song ever made
My opinion they are the Eagles of Australia ♥️♥️♥️
Holy Shi---, they still can sing amazing! Also, I love the arrangement.
Glenn Shorrock still has the
voice!!!!!!
A small Venue was so much atmosphere that’s the way to see a great band
If this was only done 2 years ago, he looks good.
Still sings the same.
Flawless blending of vocals that persisted through the decades.
Classic harmonies, incredible
UNBELIEVABLE!! Love love!!❤❤❤

the real LRB. Nice to see ya mates.
OMG! There they are! I almost bought tickets to see Fake LRB at Hard Rock. Where are these guys, the REAL LRB playing? Let go!
They sound so good in their middle to late 70's
Age does not take away the music in your heart and soul
Fantastic singer and musicians.
Donald Fagan , Walter Becker ,and Steely Dan were another great group of musicians.
Musical treat!
This is the real LRB ,nelson can just fade away , he stole the name but will never live up to it .
It wasn't Nelson, check out a guy called Housden.
