- Is this the greatest Radiohead album? I've probably heard bits and pieces of this album over the years, may have even streamed it while doing something else... but this is the first time I've properly listened to it. I honestly don't believe I've ever heard some of these songs before. There are some outstanding tracks here and one of them has stayed with me since the listen-through and found a place in my head. I can only thank this band. Just when I think it's safe to go back into the water... I instead find a bottle of beer at the end of a rainbow!
#radiohead #inrainbows #reaction
can't imagine how many hours i've spent spacing out to this album, weird fishes especially. glad you loved it too!
So much same. Love those weird fishes. I think my favourite Radiohead track.
Best album in the world haha
IN THE DEEPEST OCEAN
Weird fishes is the best song they ever made... the most beautiful mixing and sounds on that track.
@@Rohan-yn2ts for sure, my man
your singing at 13:15 was actually amazing - I looked away for a couple of seconds and just assumed it was the song
Bro same i kinda wanna listen to a full song with his singing lmao
Meanwhile, in an alternate universe where Damon Albarn got kicked out of Blur:
Lmao, it didn't end well for him.
LMAOOO
No problem, he has just released the best Gorillaz album up to date ! 🤷♂️
@@joaoguilhermehazindecastro8771 Third best
@@sickan6988 second best.
Nude is one of the most beautiful songs of all time for me. Radiohead is the king of ambience and emotion
💯
They have pretty much ruined me for all other music. They are the soundtrack of my life, aside from Bowie.
I can give them emotion, for me, Aphex Twin takes the cake for ambience.
Ah the greatest album of all time good choice
👏👏👏100%
In rainbows and To Pimp A Butterfly are the 2 best albums ever created
@@KendrickMegaFan pimp is boring af
@@bogdanadzic9305 it’s the greatest social commentary ever recorded, it’s a conceptual masterpiece about civil rights, lust, greed, and the music industry, fused with rich sounds of jazz, funk and hip hop. Find it boring if u want (despite all the personality shown, insane rapping, and really layered instrumentals apparently ) ,but you can’t deny it’s genius as social commentary, and deserves its place as a poetic and musical masterpiece
Dude's literally dripping sweat by the second song...I'd say he's into it.
dude's reviewing radiohead while on coke... I wish my job was that cool
I am going through such a phase with Radiohead. I’m listening to exclusively them. And I listen to absolutely everything and listen to so much new music in general. The power of there music is intense and it is an emotional rollercoaster. Thom Yorke, Johnny, all of these guys have reinvented their music each album to an extent that hasn’t been done before and it’s to pure perfection. OK Computer was my favorite for a while, until I heard Kid A, and then until I heard In Rainbows which stands as my favorite. Holy crap the masterpieces of this musical art. Even though they have achieved major fame, the music is still underrated in my opinion. It’s the best of all time.
I got into Radiohead around 2017 & was absolutely obsessed. It was all I listened to for the next two years. I had felt as if their music sparked something in my brain that changed me forever. It’s something that is really hard for me to put into words. Anyway, its amazing what music can do to the brain.
I bought OK Computer cassette in 1997 and it's still my fav album
Man I feel you, I went through a similar phase. Listened to Radiohead almost exclusively for 3 years and actually started with The Bends and saved all the albums over time in chronological order for me to listen to. Good times.
Mostly I agree but what the Beatles did in like 5 or 6 years is insane.
I love your approach of not obsessing over the lyrics and just feeling the music. Very refreshing compared to other music channels.
Day 6 of waiting for your Since I Left You reaction.
Still the best reaction channel on the site! Haven't had this much fun listening to records i know and love. Much love to you and your work process ❤.
A hundred percent, that album is crazy
Couple of fun fact about this album:
- The entirety of Videotape is actually syncopated; that metronome noise towards the end shows you where the actual downbeats are.
- The shaker instrument you hear in Reckoner is actually Jonny Greenwood playing a lemon shaker!
Anyway, great reaction as always, keep it up ;)
Reckoner: and Colin's water bottle! ( at least in live versions).
and nude's intro is nude's outro reversed
By far the best music reaction channel on UA-cam. Nobody else gets as invested into the music as you. You even belt out into random singing that compliments the music. Amazing album 10/10.
Cocaine lol
Weird Fishes and Jigsaw Falling Into Place might be two of my all time favorite songs
jigsaw's really underrated
Reckoner, nude, and jigsaw are my favorites. Weird fishes is amazing too though.
My two favorites. Many still don't understand Weird Fishes. 2012 live versions give a good picture
My exact thoughts!
the Scotch Mist version of Jigsaw is something else
Yes man im so happy that you reacted to this album, My favourite radiohead album behind The Bends. So cool. And don’t worry your not alone, not the only one paying for music through vinyl. 😂The best way.
Can you make a reaction to twin fantasy by car seat headrest or tyranny by the voidz?
Definitely The Voidz!!✌️
My vote's on Twin Fantasy!
Twin fantasy for sure!
twin fantasy overtook in rainbows as my favourite album of all time when it came out so +1 to this!
Twin fantasy - the new one. It’s just superior in every way to the original. The original has a special place in my heart though because it helped me work through a lot of things in middle school.
In Rainbows is one of my favorite albums ever. I always had a hard time picking between this one and OK Computer as my favorite Radiohead album as OK Computer had such a large impact on me when it came out but I think In Rainbows is indeed their best album. Great reaction as always Six!
My first great Radiohead album that I bought was the Bends and, like I said in this video, I remember buying the Planet Telex/High and Dry single before it. High and Dry is, I think, tarnished by Yorke's comments about it. But when you look into the history of the song you can kind of see why he's negative about it. Musicians often dislike early works... whereas the disassociated listener can just enjoy/not enjoy. I wonder if, like Iron Maiden, the fan's favourite album is the one he/she bought first? Hmmmm?
OK Computer is my favorite album of all
Try out the 0110 playlist maybe
Ori Cardomay I’ve heard about that! I think I made a playlist for it once upon a time. I should try it one more time
I couldn’t stop smiling throughout this whole reaction. Fantastic alb. Best reaction channel. Keep ‘em coming. Cheers.
not normally one to get into any kind of rock genre but because it’s your reaction i decided to listen and i gotta say i love this a lot
it’s not like i haven’t been exposed to rock before (voidz, twin fantasy, journey) but it’s definitely not my first pick to listen to
yet this really grabbed my attention so thanks for opening me up to this and great reaction as always mr mercurial :)
damn this video is incredibly well edited...
do a reaction to interpol's "turn on the bright lights".
etheral and atmospheric. beautiful. Amazing Bass guitar. album cover is very fitting and looks like how it sounds.
This and Kid A are my two favorite Radiohead albums. Soo gooood
Never had so much fun watching a person listen to music like this. Makes me even more hyped to listen to this album by myself
I am very curious how you liked it it is even better from the basement and the King of Limbs is far better from the basement.
I don't really extend out of my hip hop niche cause I'm a nerd (I really should expand my musical experiences lol) but since you went through hell with copyright for this video, I'll watch it ;)
Radiohead was my gateway to explore genres outside of hip hop tbh
good decision
I'm the same as you bro, took me years to get out of just listening to rap. This album made me feel like when I started listening to rap
How’d it go?
@@901umer mine as well, specifically this album actually
You hit the nail on the head with your observations of the album artwork!
Stanley Donwood has done every single Radiohead cover art since The Bends, and has (quite successfully) attempted to match the mood, feeling and soul of each album to the artwork.
This is the most enjoyable reaction vids I have ever witnessed
I was cheesing the entire time through this reaction, your reactions reminded me of my first listen. An incredible record
I get suspicious when people DON’t react like this.
You recognized the Nick Drake influence in Faust Arp!! One of my all-time favorite artists. Great reaction btw!
Wasn't expecting this! My favourite Radiohead album (probably because it's the most happy/warm so I can listen to it at almost any time) and one I always come back to! Great mix of rock and electronic sounds.
The most happy? I dont know friend....the first two ok are happy but the rest only nostalgic and malinconic to me
The bends for me is the happiest but for me but both are masterpiece in differenti ways
@@ivandidonato5712 It's not exactly a happy album and I wouldn't say any of their albums are ecstatic mood lifters but I think In Rainbows is quite inviting by their standards!
Tool - Lateralus/ Aenima or 10,000 Days would be sooo great *-*. But great video and reaction as well :)
You should look up the theory about OK Computer and In Rainbows having been recorded at the same time back in the 90s... if you play them both with 10 second overlap in the order of track 1 ok computer, track 1 in rainbows, track 2 ok computer etc then they supposedly flow perfectly (it’s a huge debate)... there are people on UA-cam that have already edited them this way so you don’t have to :) enjoy!
its not that they were recorded at the same time, its that the tracklist order and weird endings on In Rainbows were on purpose so that they slipped in between the tracks of OK Computer as a tenth anniversary celebration thing. There's a couple transitions that sell it for me, though I really don't like the transition between Paranoid Android and Bodysnatchers. The ding of the bell that ends OK Computer even lines up PERFECTLY with the beginning of the second cd bonus material that came with the deluxe edition of In Rainbows, the one with Down Is The New Up and Go Slowly, etc.
Ori Cardomay yeah that makes a lot more sense to me... it always seemed a little far fetched that they were both recorded at the same time just because they had good (or not so good lol) transition, I always figured they could just purposefully record them that way years later !
What lol wtf
I have liked several songs from Radiohead, but never found an album that really clicked with me, now i finally did!
One of my fav albums of all time. I really like the live version they did from "The Basement"
You have amazing production quality! Great video! Exactly what I was hoping for!
Suprised youve never heard this
I kinda avoided it. I think I might have streamed it once a long time ago after Bill told me how good it was... but I can't remember it at all. To be honest I streamed it again earlier today and it sounded like shit! Ha ha! Especially Faust Arp! But on this video it sounds spectacular! Vinyl for the win on this occasion!
@@mercurialno6 what? Ahahah
Streaming is the only thing I use to listen to music and I absolutely love Radiohead (dove deep into their discog this year).
Do you mean to say it sounds shit... Compared to the vinyl or just shit in general? lol
@@miguelfernandes9215 Probably compared to vinyl. I have little experience in vinyl and use streaming and downloads to listen mostly, and I can tell a quality difference
@@miguelfernandes9215 Ironically the vinyl version sounds infinitely better, despite being digitally recorded (I think).
@@jickamangah Radiohead always record to analog tape. The standard release for In Rainbows on vinyl was digitally mastered whereas the limited edition vinyl box set was mastered in analog
13:35 Me listening to any part of In Rainbows
People are sleeping on bodysnatcher so bad. That’s been my favorite song since ive gotten into radiohead.
I know you’d really enjoy the ooz by king Krule
YES !!
This.
We did review The Ooz for the MercuryPrize. Search 6’s videos it should be in there somewhere ; )
I really like your emotions, what I mean by that is I think what's amazing with you is the fact you're not afraid to show your extravagant reactions that most of people are afraid to show when they listening to music. Keep it up :]
My favorite Radiohead album. Something so warm and beautiful about it that their others aren’t
COMPLETLEY NAILED THAT JIGSAW VERSE
The whole album is my favorite song. (Radiohead is my favorite song).

There are two types of reviewers, Fantano and MN6
I think you would enjoy listening to these:
Twin Fantasy by Car Seat Headrest (2018)
A Moon Shaped Pool by Radiohead (2016)
In the Aeroplane Over the Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel (1998)
Oh definitely car seat headrest that would be amazing

I love how you called out Nick Drake (15:25)… that is dead on but never heard it until you said it. In Rainbows is my favorite Radiohead album based on how often I come back to it. You should check out Radiohead performing it live in a basement… unbelievable to watch.
Can you react to Close To The Edge from Yes?? Plesase
@@killthemtodayrightnowtoday yeah
fragile pretty dope too
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the trivia bit that that moment when everyone sings "in rainbows" in the breakdown bit in Reckoner happens at BOTH the "golden ratio" moment in the song, but also of the WHOLE ALBUM.
13:28 to 13:50 I am speechless, just speechless.
Actual good vocals over the end of “all I need “ 😂
wow what timing. I just listened to this album yesterday
Awesome review! Are you familiar with the Gorillaz full discography? I recommend Plastic Beach, Demon Days, or self titled Gorillaz! Their newer stuff doesn't hit home as much, personally.
In Rainbows - my favorite album
Weird Fishes - my favorite song
Great video!
Negro swan by blood orange ... very inspired by an disco sound
Great album!

Radioheads best album. There i said it.
Duh, it’s one of the best albums of all time

Oh, and amazing description as well! Love that last sentence lol
YOOOOOO MY FAVORITE ALBUM! edit: and Reckoner is my favorite song :)
Reckoner is a masterpiece of music
this album is so great
Have been loving the hip hop reactions, but also love the rock! If you are heading back to rock another good modern rock album I recommend is Teens of Denial by Car Seat Headrest
My favourite album from my favourite band! Great video as always.
One of my favorite reactions from you keep it up man! Been here forever and happy to see you’re finally getting the recognition you deserve.
hey karma police is amazing :( anyways loved the video as always i'd recommend you to listen to daughters (any album but i strongly suggest to start with "you won't get what you want").
I LOVE THE ENERGY YOU HAVE
Cheers! :-)
When music that’s not obviously happy sounding is nothing other than gloriously happy making
You make a video listening to an album I recommended to you years ago and I watch it a month later.haha
It's a contentious topic, but in rainbows is the best Radiohead album IMO. I wasn't a fan of Pablo Honey - other than creep of course. I loved the bends when it came out and bought the official cassette from Our Price records, back in the day (remember them?!). I missed out on the weirdness of OK computer and Kid A at release - I was away on other musical trips at the time - but have experienced those 2 often cited best albums AFTER I heard in rainbows.
This whole album is amazing!
I lost it on Reckoner lol
Subscribed 😂 I need more drunken album reviews in my life 😂 cracked me ip
I think i need whatever coffee you're drinking. Glad you enjoyed my favourite Radiohead album regardless, and love the content, keep it up!
This was seriously my favorite reaction video ever! So glad I found you. This is me listening to Radiohead 😂
I’m surprised to see there’s no discover for animal collective on the channel. You should listen to merriweather post pavilion!! I think it’s a great place to start, and if you like it there’s a great rabbit hole of amazing albums that you’re bound to enjoy too!!!
Love your videos so much! If youve never heard of it, listen to Laughing Stock by Talk Talk. Incredibly melancholic, slow, but worth the payoff. I think you would find the entire album beautiful!
And the Oscar for ‘best intense look-up’ goes to...
Holy shit I wish I could go back and listen to this album for the first time again 😭
I've just found your channel and I already love you😂 plud Radiohead is my favorite band in the whole wide world
Such a great band! :-)
The first time you hear nude is a spiritual experience
the bends is my moms favorite album as well but for me in rainbows is my all time favorite radiohead LP. i have an intense nostalgia with this album, due to it being the first radiohead album i listened to with my father when it came out. a lot of people disagree with me (most prefer kid a or ok computer). however this album musically was so adventurous like those two albums but maintained an intense clarity, thom yorke’s swooning falsetto, johnny’s appregiated riffs, songs like nude, weird fishes and jigsaw give this archaic glamour all grounded by thom yorke’s voice. this is completely about taste but i feel like the bends, kid a, ok computer all built up to this moment of expressive freedom, and considering that this was the album that wasn’t connected to XL, you can feel that sense of air and fresh breath.
nice video bro you should try deathconsciousness by have a nice life
You gotta listen to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy by Kanye West.
The vinyl quality is awful
@@cartersgoofsandgaffs Damn that's unfortunate.
13:15 thank you for that (it's amazing)
Excited to watch this when I get home tonight! Just as an album suggestion: I think you’d really like Declan McKenna’s new one “Zeros” it has a really strong Bowie influence and you can hear a bit of MGMT in there too

This is quite possibly the best Radiohead album, which is saying a lot
I love this video dude kajskajs
LETS FUCKIG GOOOOOO
i agree that it sounds how it looks :) stanley donwood did all of radiohead's album art after pablo honey, and had the album he was working for on repeat when working. each piece of artwork is pretty much a representation of his emotions and how the album made him feel, which is why all radiohead album covers hold the exact same feeling as the music within it
perfect album
