As a serving officer, i'll finish your sentence for you. "Taking action when the police don't.......................... " because said police are then hauled over the coals, spend 5 years on restricted duties being investigated, fearful they could lose their job AND their liberty at any moment during those 5 YEARS of investigation, all because some fuckwit decides to take off from them, if they then pursue and said fuckwit crashes and dies, or seriously injures or kills a member of the public, it's the same for us. That's why a lot of officers refuse to chase moped criminals, there's several officers on my team who have the training and authority to pursue both vehicles and bikes that fail to stop for them, however the justification is on them, and it will be them sat in the courtroom gripping the rail when the coroner gives their verdict as to how an innocent 5 year old child was run down and killed by a biker who was being pursued by police, all eyes will be on that officer to explain their actions, and they must justify why they felt it necessary to continue the pursuit given the situation. That's why a lot of them refuse to chase, simple as that, until such time that the UK law is overhauled, and officers are not treated as criminals when it goes tits up, simply for doing their job, it's not going to change. It seems criminals have more legal protection in this country than people like myself, and my colleagues, who do our best to uphold the laws, but act with common sense and discretion at the same time, if we are assaulted on duty, nobody gives a fuck, least not the courts, as the offender is let off. Yet you can guarantee that if an officer assaults a member of the public (unjustifiably so) they will be losing their job for sure, and dealt with robustly, made to pay compensation, wear a tag, etc, the charging standards for officers is lower than it is for the public, as we're expected to "know better", which in essence means we're more likely to be charged with something and convicted of it than the public are.
What do you suggest? Rigging up every single moped in the country with a covert camera, having police lying in wait all day every day in case it gets stolen? - Do you have any idea how stretched police forces are? I work on a team of about 38 officers, our minimum strengths for any shift is 34, we have had NUMEROUS COUNTLESS ocassions whereby we've put out a mere 15 officers onto the streets, just FIFTEEN to cover entire very busy borough south of the river thames. Out of those 15, only 4 of them are response driver trained, meaning just 4 immediate response capable vehicles, the rest respond slow time or are posted as appointment cars, to go around and visit people in their homes who have pre-booked appointments to see police in relation to a matter they wish to report, despite the fact they can easily report it online, over the phone, or at a police station front office. How would that plan realistically work? Answer - It wouldn't. That plan would imply there are enough officers, and the funding is there, when the simple answer is that the funding isn't there and there aren't enough available resources to do such a thing. They get caught, there's no room left in prisons, the courts let them go, they continue doing it, they get caught again, they promise good behaviour but are sent to prison, they can't keep them inside for too long due to the limited space and overcrowding of UK prisons, so they do a stint of perhaps a month and then are back out again. They then continue to offend, but this time they get more crafty, they get people to steal on their behalf, often young lads, and pay them what a young lad would consider to be decent money, although in reality it's nothing. To the young lad doing it, he's getting perhaps £100 to push someone off their moped, and ride it off, or steal a moped from the road outside someone's house, and push it away, or being told to be the pillion passenger on a bike and snatch as many phones as they can as they fly past people on the pavement. Intelligence led - that implies people know exactly who they are, and ARE willing to tell police, again, people aren't willing for the most part, nobody these days wants to be a "snitch". Look at Henry Hicks, a prime example, he died in 2014 during a police chase which HE instigated and CHOSE to fail to stop, he had a large bag of skunk on him and several stolen mobile phones when they detained him at the scene of the accident. To his family he was an angel, and the police were to blame, in reality he was a thieving scumbag, of course not to his family, but that's always the way. I've been on duty and had to arrest 1 black youth, or moreso my colleague did, mine was clean and had nothing on him. The moment he was cuffed, all the remarks you heard were "nothing better to do than arrest young black boys again?" Or "This is why nobody likes you" from a young white girl... despite the fact neither of them had any idea why we were searching them, for all they know they *COULD* have been in possession of a weapon, knife, machete, etc. During the search, within the space of 2 minutes, you had a crowd of about 30 people, and people trying to intervene coming into my personal space asking me why I was searching him and if she could record, I asked her to step back and she could record all she wanted, I can't tell her why i'm searching him because it's none of her business and it's only a requirement for me to tell him, it could also be sensitive and personal (for instance you wouldn't blurt out to a crowd of 50 people that you were arresting the bloke in the street because he's a pedophile, you'd have a riot on your hands, dignity and preservation). There's limited respect it seems, nobody likes us, no one wants to talk to us, but then they expect us to catch the criminals and put them away, our job is to catch them, it's up to the courts to put them away, we're the initial investigators and the evidence collectors, nothing more. We're often blamed when the courts give them a lenient or no sentence at all. It's a vicious circle. If money was no object then yes, surveillance and perhaps intelligence would be of more beneficial use, but at present it doesn't really work.
Again, that relies on officers lying in wait for very long, indefinite periods of time, which simply isn't going to work. There aren't the numbers, any officer sat around in an unmarked vehicle would soon be called away, to deal with the inevitable domestic, or suspects on, you can't justify putting a constant 24hr watch on a bait bike paying 2 officers to sit in a car nearby for their entire shift, on the basis that the bike "might" be stolen, mopeds are targeted and stolen at random, there's no magical formula to work out which one it is that is likely to be stolen. A lot of the time scouts go round looking for easy target bikes, bikes that are locked up in public places with weak chains, in public places but away from main roads, down side streets, where less chance of them being seen. Most of them occur during the night and the darker hours. Each team on the borough I work on deploys 2 officers in plain clothes in an unmarked car (assuming it's not broken and been sent in for repair - which happens more often than you think, given it's used 24 hours a day, every day). The idea being they can be sent to calls where remaining low key but also being able to observe is crucial, for instance if the suspect of a violent domestic is about to return to the address and needs arresting, if a marked car was parked up outside with officers waiting for them to return, they'd likely turn down the road, see the marked car and keep going, thus getting away, or look down the road, see the car and carry on going. Now imagine the same scenario, you have an unmarked car, you deploy it outside or near the address as the victim says he will be due to return home within the next 15 minutes.... around 15 minutes later he returns, he sees two people sat in a plain looking car, probably one on their phone and the other looking straight ahead, trying to act casual and as normal as possible, somewhere near his address, and thinks nothing of it. As he approaches the address and goes to the door, they deploy from the vehicle, grab him and cuff him, simple, if he goes inside, they have a power to force entry, assuming he doesn't voluntarily open the door. Aside from that, you also have the added bonus of you catch people doing silly things, the last time I was in the unmarked, someone decided to undertake us, doing 70 miles an hour through a 40 zone. We promptly moved behind him, and activated the hidden switch that turns the lights on, he saw us and got the shock of his life, as he thought it was just a normal car driven by a member of the public. Turns out he wasn't insured to drive the vehicle, and was driving it for a mate, doing him a favour, now imagine he'd have crashed into someone else, he'd not been insured, and it'd have been much harder for them to claim, either through their own policy affecting their annual price, or through the MIB, which isn't the easiest process. Additionally, as he wasn't insured, there's a good chance he'd have failed to stop at the scene of the accident, making it even harder to claim as you now have no details, only the registration of the car, but the owner of the car wasn't driving.... his friend was. Lying around waiting for long periods of time in the vain hope that the bike you've rigged up doesn't work like it does in the US, in the US the police are funded properly and have a massive amount of resources, in the US police driver training is mandatory part of the training, in the UK police training focuses purely on powers, legislation and force policy, no part of training involves driving whatsoever. I've been in the job over a year now, and held a full UK manual license for 5.5 years without incident, I also have pass plus, I'm STILL not authorised to drive any police vehicle, whether marked on unmarked, in any capacity, not even as a basic driver. That's the way it is, until we're funded properly, not much is going to change unfortunately. If you want to see what it's really like, ask someone in the job, or see if there's any possibility you can go out on a shift one night with your local force, not all forces offer this and most deem it too great a risk, but some used to and may still do.
UK where a truck driver who killed a grandmother in her car because he was using his phone gets a measly 5 years in prison . UK where a woman who killed a cyclist because 'shes didn't see him' even though he was wearing hi vis doesn't even go to jail . In all honesty I am ashamed of my country . I could care less what happens if someone tries to do anything to me you bet your fucking ass I will knock them down . The camera will be off
Just donated 100£ to your cause. You are citizen heroes Please people financially support this cause These guys are risking their lives and crashing their bikes to put to an end a problem the goverment doesn't care about. Let's show them our support!
@@kilo5659 yea there's no point for them really arresting them when they get out straight away. We need to fix the system in this country. And it's just getting worse with police cuts.
TRUTH SEEKER Don’t need police anymore private operators are much better and get the job done. Do you want to call a 5ft woman to come help you when you’re being attacked by knives?
Safety in numbers lads and your numbers are going to be massive mark my words, you've started something good here and it's only going to get bigger and better. The little rat thieves are going to start crawling back into their little holes.Keep up the good work be safe watch out for one an other....Proud of what your doing boys.
This is not a good thing! Police would not be able to chase those thugs because of putting their (the thugs) lives at risk! It just shows the extent of the issues in the UK with Nanny state culture. These guys should not have to put the lives at risk, the tax payers police should be bloody doing it.
@@dapperdanman4870 What you you on about? The moped thieves are not gangs of illegal immigrants..Clearly you just wanted a chance to spread ignorance and hate..Moped gangs are not only selfish thieving shits, they are a danger to anyone on the road or off the road..Unfortunately without enough Police to deal with the rising crime by moped, the public feel the need to do something about it themselves..If more people stood together against them in public maybe it will at least help reduce it.. the other plus is stolen bikes get returned to owners..Whats wrong about doing that?
We would just like to say a huge thank you to Handmuff for being part of Biker Biker - he’s a valuable part of what we do as a whole and has been on many many patrols... Great comments below and thanks for all the support in what we do...!
Kim Riley the brave souls in this video are abiding by the law because the law knows what they are doing and actually were ok about it. if we don’t do anything about it now it will get worse as time goes on and it’s already way out of control. if we only rely on the police to deal with it we are not getting anywhere.
Kim Riley just kids, acting childish and irresponsible. I really feel sorry for them, specially when they innocently stab someone or throw acid at peoples faces.
You guys are awesome. Here's a suggestion to increase the likelihood of catching someone in similar situations. Get crash cages on your bikes so you can lay your bike down and worry more on holding or catching the person. Putting the kickstand down puts you at disadvantage and allows for the thieves to get distance between you and them. Get crash cages
@@kimriley2491 I ain't bothered about none of that, they can steal all the bikes they want, and the vigilantes can feel tough whilst they patrol. All I care about is having my way with you, you little minx. Netflix and smash.
This is great stuff, because it hurts my soul when i hear some unfortunate person has their scooter stolen while trying to make an honest living. At the end of the day, all of us on two wheels, have to battle people driving boxes and also thieves. So carry on doing what you're doing and stay safe while doing it. Peace, love and guidance.
This is the start of something, if the catches on then more people will be vigilant against crime all together. The people will start standing up against crime and it will slowly become less and less predominant in or towns and cities. Keep it up you’re doing something that is needed to clean the streets and make them safer for the people that live on them.
118 bike thieves didn’t like this lol. nice one guys now all we need is many more groups of brave souls to follow suit. It’s about time someone did something because it’s way out of control and the police have enough on there plate and never around when you need them. I’ve had my bike stolen by 4 low life’s in a white van that backed into my driveway and lifted it up in seconds alarm going lights flashing but they don’t care. I saw it happen it’s the worst feeling. I’ve another bike now and it’s heavily chained down to an anchor plus alarmed. £400 worth of the strongest chains CCTV plus alarmed is better than nothing ;) makes you paranoid when one gets stolen.
LoL i didn't like this, cus this is what the police should be doing. But i am not a bike thief. Why should i be. i'm only 14 years old. LoL But ima go play Valorant or Warzone now xD see ya
put it this way, biker biker and any other more ruthless bikers will do more than any officer can, police are restricted by law on what they can and cant do and one of those is the fact that more often than not they have to pull back, where as biker biker etc WONT give up. so whilst you may find this amusing, i highly doubt the young thieves do.
black gold, thats pretty racist, but in all honesty WTF IS YOUR POINT>????? are you saying all british should just evacuate the uk/england or whatever the fuck the place is called... yea people migrate, and people are still migrating.. do you not like that??? thats pretty inhumane really....
A lot of criminals have what are called "pool cars/bikes" bikes and cars that are used by multiple criminals for various crimes, the vehicles are stolen so the criminals dont care about breaking them.
Not easy chasing someone half your size with all that gear on. Good effort regardless. Suggestion - you could carry a runner with you to chase them down. Someone who can give chase right from the off.
Stand together and let the hunt for the criminal self-centered low-life begin - hunting season around the clock all year round and around and around ...
Moped gangs? More likely the Police, they really don't like people trying to do their job for them. It's all going to end badly, and not for the moped thieves, hell they could even arrest these guys and make an example of them OR claim they're part of the gangs so that their stats look good.
Strider9655 Unfortunately there is a big chance you are right. I live in Hungary, there was a group called "Tolvajkergetők" (Thiefbusters), they placed bicycles with GPS trackers AND radiowave trackers (so when they were close, they could even tell the police which door they should knock on to find the stolen bicycle) in different places of our capital, they tracked down both the thief and his buyer, and gave them and all the video evidence to the police. First the police was helpful, but when this group became much more successful in catching bicycle thieves then the police, the stakes were turned. With the cooperation of the police, the DA and the judge, a conceptional trial was held (it took actually 3 years!!! and it is not over yet, only the first degree sentence was given), and the leader got 2 years imprisonment for "self-judging", I do not know the term in english. So be careful guys, record everything, and never give away the original footages, have a copy all of the videos!!
Pull up next to them on the riders right hand side and just grab a handful of their front brake..... that's should be better than trying to kick them off.............. just a suggestion 👌🏻👍🏻
ian hayes just a suggestion,if they're going to try and kick them off, they should just do what I said! Their word against yours. Or we could just do fuck all like the rest of the useless sheep ❤️👍🏻
+Debbiebabe69 while I think most people would feel this is a justifiable stance, the law does not agree, you literally cannot go to prison unless you're over 18, between 10 and 17 they get a softy softy approach where they basically go into day care and get treated like they didn't understand what they were doing, not like the criminal scum they are. The families may or may not know what their cunt kids are actually doing, that is, until they get the call from the police about it. Society has gone to shit, its frankly ridiculous how little responsibility and control parents have for their kids, and it's not entirely their fault either. I'm not old enough to know the cane in school, or the belt/slipper but it seemed to work well for my mum and dad who brought me up not needing it. But my generation who got it soft brought up their kids to be scum so perhaps we need to bring it back!!
@ian hayes so let's say your kid is going to threaten me with a knife or acid and steal my bike, I smash his face with a hammer let's say...you telling me that you will come at me for protecting my life? Mate you're an absolute fool. And I'll tell you more...at some point some of this scum will get left bleeding to death on the side of the road as they taking it to far, one day they will meet the wrong person or group of people with no cameras that they will make an example out of them for the whole country.
To the people who are crying and protesting the 'treatment' of these 'kids'. 1) If they stop stealing bikes, this vigilantism would stop too. 2) The bike thieves aren't innocent little holy angels of peace! 3) So what if they're 15 or 16?? If you do the crime, you cop the punishment. 4) If they can't identify the people bringing them to justice, there is no case. 5) Please feel very welcome to stop stealing other people's stuff!
I said to the police months that it would end up with the public forming vigilante groups to tackle the growing bike theft problem, if they didn't take it seriously. Doing good work people!
Man this excites me. I'm fucking pumped! :D Good job, hopefully more people will join you. Maybe these rats one day will be too scared to do anything illegal.
Full respect gents! You have my full support for this. REALLY great to see that people like you are ensuring the community fights back against these scum. Take care guys....
John McEnroe all bikers should give a donation to these brave guys for there work. we pay the police but do we really get our moneys worth?. They pull us over for speeding at the drop of a hat but pretty much turn a blind eye to the real criminals who steal bikes.
I had 2 of three little pricks try and stop me in Hammersmith. They swerved around the front of me, wobbled and hit the road HARD! Hilarious. I drove around them as they lay in the road in pain and carried on with my journey. A thought for you guys. If you are live streaming you make yourselves a target. They (gangs) know where you are and they could come for you and make an example of you and steal your bikes (which would be embarrassing)
This is too good the little pricks need a like for like retaliation. Although I do believe when this becomes more public the authorities will say you shouldn’t be doing it and you should leave it to them, I say Bs they’ve had their time now it’s time for the public to clean up their streets.
Have a lot of Respect for you guys. Owning a real nice Motorbike in Uk is so much of a hassle. Stay safe and alert . Finally someone taking actions against these scumbags .
I can see this group growing and growing but please don't let it turn into a vigilante group. There are so many bikers out there who have had their bikes/scooters nicked by low life scum like these. The only problem I can see though is one of the feral rats will try to sue you if you touch him/her. The fact that you've just recovered a ducati(example) doe's not come into it. It's the fact that this little shitty=arsed twat has got a bloody nose and a bruised eye because you've kicked him/her off the stolen bike. Well done guy's love the lot of you. Terry.....
Yooo this shit is gold I feel like I just watched some Bravo Six going dark shit right here 😂 Bike community is awesome you guys are the people we want 💪👍
This is really good work, people need to come together and stop these moped/bike robbers as they do so many robberies with these bikes. I hope people share this video so it spreads the word and encourge and drum up support for you guys.
I dint know you existed until today. Please keep doing what your doing as we need people like you. be safe and take care. I recommend mace be caried for your own protection mate as they will eventually tool up in defence
need the 'victim' to press charges in most assault cases, thanks to their inability to get out of their narrow minded subculture headsets it's highly unlikely that they would ever ring the police to report an assault. Little shit's know they're up to no good anyway
If you catch them and get them arrested and when they make there statement they say you assaulted them, statement made and then the police arrest you, this happens all the time.
You guys are amazing, my boyfriends motorbike had the steering lock snapped twice in the space of 4 weeks by thief’s in an attempt to steal it costing him nearly a grand of his own money.
Good job guys but be safe as anyone knows that these assholes are armed sometimes be safe good job!!! (sorry my for my bad English but i am from Hungary)
It's about time...well done guys for doing this for Londoners. Really proud of you all. FIGHT BACK LONDON. Police can't do it all on their own, we as general public need to UNITE against these criminals and FIGHT BACK and protect each other
If only my 750 Aprilia wasn't stolen (3rd bike now) by one on these thieving pricks and me in essence becoming bikeless, I would seriously consider helping you guys patrol the streets! This is some hero work right there, and kudos to you for that! Subscribed :)
i just got my provisional license for a 50cc moped and passed my CBT, and im buying a moped soon, this is why im securing the hell out of it, so that no one can get to it, and huge respect for you guys, doing something about a problem the government doesnt give a shit about. keep up the good work, and i may not be able to help with money, heres hopefully some motivation for you and your team.
Exactly what I've been suggesting in other videos of moped thieves. Setting up Biker gangs against these thieves. When legal system handicaps the police it's upto public to take a stand. Such group and united vigilantism is what can help go the extra mile that the legal system can't. Guys make it a huge thing there and I'd suggest even organizing rallies spreading public awareness and participation. Create a brotherhood for life !!
The fact that citizens can go out and literally find these guys shows how rampant it is. The police need squads dedicated to doing exactly what this group is doing. Y'all should be getting paid by the community.
Very nice work guys! With people like you they will scared some time and stop doing this. I'm very far from your country, but still, I'm a rider and I don't even want to think how difficult will be for me to stole my bike. Keep it up!
nice one lads!! That bike could have been someones living (takeaway driver or something) and getting it out of the hands of thieves is going to really change someones life.

Kim Riley the brave souls in this video are abiding by the law because the law knows what they are doing and actually were ok about it. if we don’t do anything about it now it will get worse as time goes on and it’s already way out of control. if we only rely on the police to deal with it we are not getting anywhere.

You guys are awesome. Here's a suggestion to increase the likelihood of catching someone in similar situations. Get crash cages on your bikes so you can lay your bike down and worry more on holding or catching the person. A lot of criminals have what are called "pool cars/bikes" bikes and cars that are used by multiple criminals for various crimes, the vehicles are stolen so the criminals dont care about breaking them.

Moped gangs? More likely the Police, they really don't like people trying to do their job for them. It's all going to end badly, and not for the moped thieves, hell they could even arrest these guys and make an example of them OR claim they're part of the gangs so that their stats look good.
@@Strider9655 well he did say the police are giving them permission to do it
Strider9655 Unfortunately there is a big chance you are right.

Exactly what I've been suggesting in other videos of moped thieves. Setting up Biker gangs against these thieves. When legal system handicaps the police it's upto public to take a stand.
Such group and united vigilantism is what can help go the extra mile that the legal system can't.

Yeah a biker gang. Sounds legal
The fact that citizens can go out and literally find these guys shows how rampant it is. The police need squads dedicated to doing exactly what this group is doing. Y'all should be getting paid by the community.
