  • Never thought we would reach this level in the UK. Bikejacking is on the rise and we all should be more vigilant. This happened 2 days before I went on the Africa Tour, it's ironic that a lot of people were sending me messages warning how Africa is not safe, while the opposite is true, at least we parked the bikes unchained and not even a steering lock every night and no one touched them.
    Lots of info, pictures, etc.. on my website, Facebook, Instagram & Twitter:

      that is someone training to be a London black cab driver by learning 'the knowledge' - black cab drivers have to learn the map of London, as they are heavily tested on it when going for a black cab licence, give a cabbie any street in London and he should be able to tell you where it is and how to get there. that's why London black cabs are considered the best in the world at what they do as I'm not aware of anywhere else that requires such a high level of training for a taxi driver.

      Muscidu The Watch the whole video, and watch closely, then read my whole comment, and read it until the end. They were sitting on the opposite side of the street and there were two on a big scooter meant to go faster than usual and this guy knew they could be out looking for bikes. The one on the back takes the keys so the guy can't drive off and the one on the fronts spins around and takes the keys from them while they occupy the rider, they then sneak up behind and steal the bike and leave the scooter for the distraction guy. The bikers focus is on the guy on his feet as he could be a danger and they lure them away from the bike as the other steals, starts, and drives off with his new toy and then the distraction will attack you to get to their scooter and drive off with their friend. Anyway, he seen two people on a scooter which is a bad sign for bikers, and avoided them on his side of the street. They made a U-turn and followed him down the same street to park next to him at a light so they could do their thing. He lost focus and forgot about them for a second in which he didn't notice they were following him to the light in the same lane. When he stops at the red light they make sure to pull up next to him. One eyeballs his camera knowing that their plan might not work, the passenger eye balls the ignition of the bike to know where the keys are and gets ready to pull them out. He is street smart and knows what they are up to and so he stares back at them with a tinted visor to get them on camera as best as he could, and then proceeds to back up his bike to give a clean exit and space apart so they can't reach the keys. He also looks for a plate in which they had none which was a clear sign what they were doing. They then realize they picked the wrong guy and sped through a red light almost hitting pedestrians. You seem like the kind of person that would feed these criminal scum because of your lack of attention and street smarts. They WERE without a doubt in the world going to attempt to steal his bike, even in front of people because they know that police and bystanders won't do much unless someone is armed or has balls bigger than them. Plus they have a helmet so you can't really do much damage in the first place. The most anyone could do is stick around as a witness and to possible break laws and put people in danger to chase the theives until they crash or give up.

    • @Havingadump
      @Havingadump 8 років тому +16

      I have several friends who work in policing, they certainly do give a shit, but unfortunately there is little they can do in instances like this. The riders have no number plate, but that's about all they did wrong if you just watch the video. Yes it looks like they were going to go for the keys, but they didn't, so if they were charged it would lead to nothing but wasted time and effort on the part of the police.
      If they can catch someone they will, but they have to prioritise, and a video of some shady guys on a ped with no plate isn't going to get anyone anywhere.
      Report it yes so that they are aware, but realistically the police have better things to do like trying to catch them in the act rather than filling out paperwork for a video with no great criminal activity.
      I would hate to have one of my bikes stolen, and so would the coppers I am friends with as they all ride, but I'd rather see them on the streets patrolling looking for these cunts than back at the station chatting about something like this.

    • @Havingadump
      @Havingadump 8 років тому +4

      +Jimmy De'Souza I'm not saying there aren't games being played, I'm just saying that in instances like this it's hard for the police to do much.
      I would say that the police as a whole do a good job. It's impossible to catch them all, and fixed penalties are a big part of it. I have had some, and I deserved them every time. If people would like the police to issue less of them then they should break the law less.
      I have been in plenty of situations where I was being stupid and the police had plenty of reason to issue me with points or a fine, but they haven't. I was caught with a friend on our bikes doing 60+ in a 30 albeit briefly, and we were pulled over and told to calm down and take it somewhere rural.
      I'm not saying all of them care and all of them deal with things reasonably, but I think for the most part they do.

    • @Havingadump
      @Havingadump 8 років тому +1

      +Jimmy De'Souza it was more the original comment that made me see it that way, seemed like it was personal to the individuals.
      You are right about the metrics though, while there isn't a hard "you need this many fines issued in x time" it is certainly encouraged. Obviously the brass love to see the numbers go up in areas they can use to show they did a good job, so naturally they encourage the behaviour. They want to get ahead in life.

      Pretty sure the last thing a thief would do while riding a stolen bike is jumping a red light. Combined with the U-turn right after passing RJ they were definitely up to something. Then RJ stepping back triggered their nerves and the driver made an impulsive decision by taking off.

    Sucks that we have to deal with this kind stuff. There's nothing the police can do short of knocking them off the scooter, which of course they won't.

      They do here in bradford, they got the bike force on crf450's and they kick people off there bikes when in chases. Seen it many times.

      Yep. Too bad here in america if cops were to show more force, people here would cry "police brutality!! Lets protest by burning down buildings!!!!!" Worlds gone to shit.
