Haha yeah, the actual mayhem in your ears of 200 arcade machines on attract mode at the same time :) The smell of cigs, burn marks on the controls and carpets that stick to your feet. That's what can't be replicated. But the best bit was seeing all the greatest games on the planet just 10p away. It would have only been a dream then to own your fave game at home. You would have to be a millionaire! Hehe
I remember back then, saying to a friend "When I grow up and have the money, I'm gonna have a Star Wars cab in my house!" Little did I know that I'd have that game in my pocket, on a phone, and tilt controls would effectively emulate the funky custom controller. Still wish I had the sit-down cab though.
Haha yeah, tell me about it :) I now have a cab that plays them all :) But I did and still wish I had the real sit down cab. Even just a setup to do it, but the missus would go mental. One day I will have a house big enough and my missus will be nice enough for me to have my games room I dreamed of. Until then, I have an Ikea desk in the conservatory :)
Nice setup but when i replace the full Content folder and launch the Arcade Neon Game, all games are freezed, no animations and no sounds from arcades, how i can solve that?

That's... incredibly tough :\ I guess I'm going to have to go with Street Fighter 2 Turbo (and, later, Marvel Super Heroes and Alpha 2) because it's what my brother and I used to play most often in Cashcade :D I truly miss the days of arcade centres, the sounds, the smells, the memories. Man...this video helped me big time...thankyou so much...the way you said to transfer content from folder to folder....i deleted the content folder then moved in the downloaded one....but after merging the 2 it works flawless now....thanks mate
This is amazing. I cant wait to build my PC and get something like this up and running with all the emulators and Arcade cabinets. This is LIT! I really hope they have it to where u can meet at the Arcade with Friends actually see the other person, make an avatar and play together on multi-player games. Chill at the Bar, have a bite to eat and talk through voice chat. Especially in VR. It might take a while but, I see some really huge potential with this Game Outside of just the Games. I really like to have this game on my steam libary because i really like that retro old school arcade and i really like to live on the 80/90 to enjoy these great moments that unfortunately I did not follow much. I grow with Metal Slug 3 and i love the Metal Slug Series and i really like to have one day a Neo Geo Arcade with at least the Metal Slug 2 or 3 and i really like to have a pinball machine too. I've clearly got a copy of the game already, but I have to say my favorite game right now is Bloody Roar 2. It emulates perfectly inside of NRA:N. This is so awesome. Kudos to the devs for making this possible. I think it would be a good idea to completely copy and backup the entire game folder with art, roms and emulators ..when you've got it the way you want it. Then, if you ever reinstall windows all you have to do is go into 'New RetroArcade' folder and copy your backup so you don't have to set the thing up all over again. Maybe new updates might break it's functionality (hopefully not), but at least everything will be in the right folders ready.

Something about seeing that 4 player cab way back when in the dark recesses of many an arcade has stuck with me. as for the steam key competition, I'm going to have to go with Killer Instinct. I was actually good at that one in the small town arcade we had. Dude...I built a full size, dual screen pincade system, running hyperspin on the backglass and launching with RocketLauncher on a vertical 43" lcd with dual fight sticks and pinball controls with the help of your tutorials. I've got a mini nintendo RetroPi system inspired by your tutorials. I also own an Oculus Rift CV1...now I have a new retro project! Thanks for making my friends jealous as fack! I should probably send you more money soon.

Incoming fanboy who would like a competition entry. You have made this a difficult matter for me to choose a favourite as i have 7 games that I remember growing up so I'm going to throw all 7 in. Simpsons - who didn't like beating enemies with a hoover! Time Crisis - It was just a classic shooter. Tekken 2 / 3 - That game cost me pocket money and more weekly! King of Fighters - At a guess 97. it's hard to pick a favourite there. House of The dead - What a classic shooter! Michael Jackson ( i think it's moonwalker ) - Classic! And of course the one and Only Turtles in time! If I had to pick just 1 I don't think I could.

I'd like to participate in the New RetroArcade Neon competition. My first love was Gauntlet followed by Shinobi. Many years later though I couldn't get enough of Killer Instinct. I put a lot of 50 pences in that bad boy. The feeling you got when you performed an ultra combo with the cabinet screaming it out to a bunch of onlookers who thought you were the bee's knees. Oh happy days :)
I'd like the game, because I've played the original, and I really enjoyed it. I can't decide my favorite arcade game between Donkey Kong and Pac-Man, I love those two both xD.
I'd love a key. Favorite arcade game has to be Xain'd Sleena for me. That one would probably be the first one i'd setup in the arcade before anything else.

This is awesome, thanks! The emulators seem to have audio issues, how do you tweak the emulator settings? The only thing I changed was cranked all the graphics settings to epic (my system can handle it). When's the next video on this coming up?
nice ! :-) Ohh.. didn't see the competition .. Well My favorite game - long time ago...- was rolling thunder, from namco . I really enjoy the sequel on Megadrive, rolling thunder 2 , but the final episode, rolling thunder 3 was the best of all ! Strangely, Arcades "shops" in 80ies were very different, in France : most of the time, the place was dirty, with smocking clouds, and really more loud sounds.... Hearing the music of each machine was difficult... ! :-( Must be a nice arcade place in California ... !

Its a shame they took down the theater and replaced it with a Lowes. Every time I drive by there I always remember it!

It definitely gets pretty badass when you push it to the limit and must go nice with a table top arcade stick in VR!

I would like to enter the competition, my favourite arcade game growing up was Space Harrier. Loved the Deluxe sit down moving cockpit, the Super Scaler graphics and the awesome music!
would love this key my favorite arcade game is and will always be area 51. our local pizza shop for years had one and spent loads of quarters on it. I'm also trying to get my boys into playing some retro games and this would be awsome for them to play with (I've got my oldest playing final fantasy's for snes on an a raspberry pi 3 running lakka). thanks for all the work you do I always look forward the new videos and learning new and better ways to set up emu's !!!!!!

Hi Austin!,love all your videos but the emulation ones are my fav's!.I would like to be considered for a Retro Arcade Neon key please!.My all time favorite arcade game is probably Galaga,or Crystal CastlesI play them as much today as I did when I first saw it in the early 80's!.I then got a 48k Speccy,and still play loads of my old favorites on the Spectactulator emu today!.

Hi Austin, I'd love a copy of this. Spent most of my youth playing in arcades. My favourite has to be Scramble. Really early arcade game but just so slick and there was noting else like it at the time.

I'd like to participate in the New RetroArcade Neon competition. My first love was Gauntlet followed by Shinobi. Many years later though I couldn't get enough of Killer Instinct. I put a lot of 50 pences in that bad boy. The feeling you got when you performed an ultra combo with the cabinet screaming it out to a bunch of onlookers who thought you were the bee's knees. Oh happy days :)
The planets carpet is the best thing in this game. I could buy the game just to walk on it.
I don't know why I like it so much.

I'd love a key. Favorite arcade game has to be Xain'd Sleena for me. That one would probably be the first one i'd setup in the arcade before anything else.

This is awesome, thanks! The emulators seem to have audio issues, how do you tweak the emulator settings? The only thing I changed was cranked all the graphics settings to epic (my system can handle it).

Well My favorite game - long time ago...- was rolling thunder, from namco .
I really enjoy the sequel on Megadrive, rolling thunder 2 , but the final episode, rolling thunder 3 was the best of all !
Strangely, Arcades "shops" in 80ies were very different, in France : most of the time, the place was dirty, with smocking clouds, and really more loud sounds.... Hearing the music of each machine was difficult... ! :-(

I remember I'd play it every time I went to me old movie theater to watch something. Its a shame they took down the theater and replaced it with a Lowes.
