Next time put the spices on the bottom and then the rice on top it will help prevent the spice being sucked into the motor

I believe this is the coffee filter process.
    Coffee filters=
1-Invert the jars on the coffee filter.
2-Trace around the opening of the jar and cut out the disc of coffee filter material. I believe you can get 3 or so discs from one filter.
3-place the coffee filter disc on top of the rice mix, inside the jar.
4- Kinda push the filter material down a little, on the edges, next to the inside edges of the jar.
5-Wipe the jar lip with a dry towel, to remove any powder particles and place the flat lid on the jar. Put the white vac sealer apparatus on the jar and vacuum it.

@@TealHouseFarm I have heard of using cupcake papers. They don’t work for me.

Cut the filter to fit inside your jar.

Cut a round of the coffee filter, lay it on top of your jar contents, and the vacuum seal.

Like inside the actual jar, or just right under the lid?

Would putting the seasoning on the bottom of the Mason jar and then adding the rice, help with eliminating the possibility of particles getting in the motor?

Powder in the motor might be an issue but keeping powder from getting under the lid and preventing a good seal is the bigger issue. I really like my vacuum sealing methods. I have been using the syringe method and finding it works well. Always enjoy your videos. Happy Easter.

@@TealHouseFarm I think you have mentioned it and may have the syringe made for this. Your little electric one is just as easy.

Good morning! My husband will be so happy as he is a rice lover but myself, not so much. This is an easy, ready to go way to fix rice without me having the excuse of not having it on hand. So, on behalf of my husband, "thank you". I definitely will be making these up. Have a great day.

Cupcake papers just on top of jar contents pressed down so covers top of contents, wipe rim, place lid and vacuum seal away. Hope this helps.

If you put the spices in the jar first you probably won't have the "spice sucking" issue. 🤣

These vacuum sealers simply do not work. The vacuum will fail inside of two weeks or less.

    • @TealHouseFarm
      @TealHouseFarm  8 місяців тому +1

You may be overfilling your jars! Vacuum sealers need more head space than when you can something. I have been guilty of this myself, and had to do a lot of googling when I found my seals were feeling after a couple of weeks. Make sure you leave at least 2 inches of headspace and that should hopefully solve your problem and you’ll get a nice long term seal.
